  1. E46 330Ci otherwise known as the twatmobile
  2. Its just nice to actually see some progress on it Engine is due back late next week/early week after hopefully so once its back its "just" a case of assembling it and chucking it in the car
  3. Thanks for the offers, My uncle came through and dropped it off this afternoon for me Actually starting to see some progress on the car now Front suspension assembled and front brakes fitted
  4. Just waiting to find out from Stevo if he lives near there. I'm hoping its sorted, My uncle works in Cherry Hinton and is coming down to Wales tomorrow - it just depends on if the guy I'm buying it from is around this afternoon Similar reason I went for the Akebona brakes on the 350z (originally had the crappy JSpec brakes) and for an extra £150-200 they looked a lot better option than the brembos. So when are you expecting/hoping to have this up and running? My mate wants it out of his garage by the end of April. I've been taking up a space in the garage since June so he wants it gone as much as I do
  5. The brakes look awesome, a lot bigger than the Brembos I wanted Stoptechs all round but they were double the price although I did nearly come close to buying a set of Endless fronts but with 370mm disks I wasnt confident they would fit under my wheels
  6. Its in Cherry Hinton - CB1 post code. Petersfield is about 60 miles closer to me than Cambridge!
  7. i'll drop him a message & see what he went for - thats a great price for them I lost patience a long time ago but I can see the end in sight now. The final piece of the jigsaw is finally on the way and the wiring harness should be here any day now Got some more parts this week 370Z brakes Agency power ehxaust SPL front and rear droplinks Looks like I have a long assed trip to Cambridge on Saturday to pick the fmic also
  8. I'm leaning more towards a single intank pump TBH although the guys on the Supra forum are torn between the 2 options Water/meth injection is definitely something being considered, temps are likely to be a big issue for this car so I will need all the help that I can get with cooling. My subframe has finally come back from the powdercoaters, Its not quite the blue that I requested but seeing as this took 6 weeks ill take it And for no other reason other than I am a total ARC whore I bought this It wont be any more efficent than the GReddy one I have now, but its ARC and I'm a sucker for anything ARC
  9. Me too. Although I had a Sagaris for a weekend and although I loved it' not sure it would be a good daily driver! A lot of fun along with a lot of quirks! A Sagaris is firmly on my want list but prices still hold so well. Rare as rocking horse poop too. I'll keep saving in the meantime! They are near enough the same price they were new Its definitely on my "to own list" one day but I dont see that day coming soon If I had that sort of money to spend on a daily, i'd be going Maserati 4200
  10. Could never hear what anyone said to me in my last Z it was so loud Took my mate out in the Supra after getting it mapped and we got a little sideways following a high speed run - his reaction was to just sit in silence, holding onto anything he could find & went a little bit whiter than he normally is I am looking forward to taking the Mrs out in the Zupra though, she hates fast cars & hates driving above 50mph I might rig up the go pro for that ride
  11. First one I bought from local dealer Second one I bought on ebay Third one I bought through Keyser Fourth one I bought off my brother
  12. +1 I think I'd cry if I discovered that to be the location of my local bodyshop. Although £3.5k does seem rather cheap for a full respray does it not? Pay peanuts you get monkeys....or maybe I am the monkey that has been ripped off in the past I'd have thought 3.5k was about right, if not then a bit expensive. Or is my sarcasm detector broken?... Same, I'd have said it was expensive I paid £2500 to get my Supra resprayed
  13. Epic project Would love to buy a classic project one day, not sure I have the patience for it though
  14. 3 pages & no pics of the wheels? Poor showing Vlad
  15. It remains to be seen if it does actually happen. I'll be a lot happier once I actually get the engine back and its in one piece. My mate wont let me be there for the first start up though All I have left to buy now is a fuel pump - just need to decide if I want one high volume intank pump or a couple of externals
  16. All sorted Spent a few hours up there yesterday. I have been assured that the engine will be back within the next 2 weeks & once its back the car will be running inside another 2 weeks. He wants it out of his garage by mid April as I've been holding up space there since June so hopefully all being well we should see some proper progress in the next few weeks
  17. The engine is something he wants to talk about today "face to face" the only other thing holding us up is the wiring harness, once thats here and the engine is done it will all bolt together pretty quickly. TBH, im looking at buying just a standard 2JZ engine, it will take 800hp in standard form so I might just buy one and chuck it in to get it up and running and then sell the forged engine when/if it ever gets completed the biggest problem I have is that the guy doing the work is a good friend of mine so i've let a lot of things slide as hes doing me a good deal and we did agree when it went in that hed work on it when he had a chance rather than flat out as if I was a full paying customer. i've got no doubt he can do the work its just that he takes on way too much work so loses track of everything - at the moment he has 5 cars in his garage with no engines!
  18. So generous Chris Gonna try and get some actual deadlines sorted today if not I'm gonna pull the plug on the project and do something else. Has been a bit of a nightmare from start to just barely started
  19. Yeah the only difference in subframes is the centre section has been cut out Gotta go up the garage tomorrow, my mate wants a chat about the engine & would rather do it face to face which is never a good sign with him TBH, i've been slowly losing patience and interest in the build - my engine has been with the machine shop since July and shows no sign of returning any time soon I've worked out how much I could get back by selling everything i can off it & depending on how tomorrows chat goes then it may be my favoured option
