Nope, it runs from when your first car needs insurance and the second runs pro-rata for the remainder of the year. Then the next year they both run together. I had to do this last year.
-
Was just thinking that m self I would assume there is a limit to claims, just like normal insurance. They will just hammer you with your premium or take away your NCB. If your NCB is protected or guarenteed though, it gives you a few claims before they hit you. Will let you know all the details when the literature arrives for it. As I said, its brand new and the fella didnt know every last detail about it so told me to read the T&Cs carefully when I get it and if I dont like it they have a 14 day cooling off period so I can cancel it

From what i belive Elephant and Admiral are part of the same company as such, i was on elepahnt, only reason i went admiral was for multi-car policy Yup, same parent company. Infact their share the same office address in Cardiff! I used to flip flop between Elephant and Admiral as one used to be a bit cheaper than the others renewal. With multicar only on Admiral, it ballses that up a bit

Cheers Lee, will get a pick when I get home. No rush, I have a decent machine bolt in there atm, just looks odd being bright and shiney
-
Yup, plus a bit more down south I paid £350 for all my wheels to be powdercoated with a machined lip
-
Yes I have multicar, saved a fortune. I think the only people that would have come close was Chris Knott, but now they dont do under 25s, I cant use them as the missus has to be able to drive my car. The optional upgrade for mods is very new, I was the first person he had done it on. I am going to see how much it comes out at, but even at £35 it will be a bargin if I break my Varis lip or something. Oh and I forgot to say, with this option, there is a £50 excess if you are claiming off this rather than the main policy. So if I claimed for my lip, it would only cost £50, not the full excess. If you claim on the normal premium, say in a big accident, then you would pay that excess but the mods are still covered Will ammend my original post WRT the excess.

Sounds like you are on top of it mate, just a shame that the technicians seem totally inept. Any good mechanic knows that not all faults will be shown on the the diagnostics machine as that requires a part to compeletely fail usually and some sensor to pick it up. For example, my car was recently stalling when I started it. That didnt throw any error codes, but it was a sticky throttle causing it. Cleaning out the throttle body solved it. If I had taken it to Nissan, they'd have probably said nothing was wrong! Just keep pushing them and they'll get there in the end

Thought I would post this up as I had a nice convo with a Canadian chap from Admiral last night about my renewal. He managed to save us a bundle over the renewal price, but interestingly there was a new option regarding mods to the car. There is a new option on Admiral, where you can declare all mods, but also have them covered upto £500 for a single item. For somewhere between £6-£35 a year, they will cover your mods like for like. Whereas before they would insure you with mods, but not replace if you damaged them, they will now cover mods under this new option. Its brand new and not been running for long at all. I can now be happy that things like my Varis carbon lip are now covered whereas before they werent! This has a £50 excess for each item/claim, rather than your usual excess. If you have a big accident though it will be processed through a normal claim and your normal excess applies but the mods are covered. I know a few of you are with Admiral, so try giving them a ring and see how much more it will cost you

Classic. I'll show Amanda tonight and see what she can do to compete -
Tried to get my TB off last night, but the bolts were set fast! I managed to free one top one, but couldnt budge the bottom ones. In the end I think I managed to flush enough bursts of TB cleaner through from the intake side to clear the crap that was giving me problems. Car starts sweet as a nut now, no more stalling on turn over
-
Right guys and gals, whos up for the next one then? I will be there about 7:30pm again, and will hopefully remember to bring my camera this time! Travelling up with about 7 Evos, so someone please save me!
-
Chaps, I was cleaning my TB last night with some TB cleaner from Halfrauds when I broke a bolt Its the one that holds the intake tube to the engine just by the strut and engine cover. I managed to sheer it off when tightening it (not even tight!). Managed to get the thread part out by uncrewing it from below using a pair of pliers. Now need to replace it if anyone has one? I managed to find a random machine screw with the same thread, so its heald good and proper at the moment but obviously doesnt match the other bolts. Fortunately the TB cleaner did its stuff and my random stall on turn over is gone Starts sweet as a nut now. Cant beleive it was such a simple fix after thinking it was the popchargers fault.

+1

My method is always start cheeky, then come back a bit, and when the price is decided, push them for some free servicing and MOT(s). You can then pretty much get back to where you started. They are alot more forgiving with free servicing than knocking more money off as labour is cheap for them

Are they a Nissan dealer? Get on the phone not only to the dealer but also Nissan GB. That is not acceptable They seem to have gotten stuff all over the centre console, seat, gear stick! Let along those scratches! Thats shocking, and I would be fuming! I would be execting all parts touched by that back to black crap to be repleaced at their cost. Also the seat looks awefully close to the centre console, more than I think mine is. Is that just a trick of the light or is it not alligned properly?
-
Glad to hear you got it sorted Try getting a pop charger for that 4k full bore noise, its awesome Oh and
-
Yes its a generic fault code reader. Works with loads of software too, from basic diagnostics to digital dashes, like I have on my carpc (thats the OBDII reader I have too)
-
Think they're 8.5 and 9. Tyres are 245/35/18 and 275/35/18. Nothing too big. Just to confuse you the RR of the tyres is less than stock, but the RR stagger front to rear is the same as OEM so no TC problems
-
Well I hear mixed views. I've been attempting to clean mine with some TB cleaning spray without moving anything as I hear you can knacker them. However in the States they just say its ok to move it but you might have to perform a couple of resets of TB closed position learning and idle air learning. But they're quite easy. Tempted to whip mine off as its filthy and I'm convinced it causes the car to stall on turn over (you know when it blips on start, mine then stalls) and since giving it a spray yesterday its much better as it starts, then drops, just enough to not stall, but not far off. You guys replacing the gasket after you removed the TB? It says in the service manual that you're meant to.
-
Ooooow kay heres a few
-
Hope you didnt move it A few people have broken theirs by moving them manually. Is it all back together and working now?
-
Got a decent pic of yours Chris, I'm thinking.... Nope, no pictures, I'm the only one whos allowed them Do a search, theres plenty around here
-
The place I got mine done have never had a set fail either. From what I've heard, its people with thinner spoke wheels that let them get too hot (over 200C rings a bell). This semi melts the structure of the wheel and weakens it. Then when driven hard they fail. Jerry: Rota GTRs look great, but I'm bias

Ready and waiting matey, hope you have some good numbers for me

I still cant get over you polishing your exhaust for bits you dont even see Killed the time didnt it? I was really looking for holes and damage without it being obvious
