  1. it's just clicked, verma, was yours perry's old motor? when it was in the magazine, it wasn't owned by yourself though was it? pug blue i think.
  2. hi i'm hoping to go down the zed route, after a sale fell through recently. i had a celica vvtli. what was yours like to have it in banzai?
  3. if you could get a new 313, definately. for me newer is always nicer and better ;-) i'm on a tight budget and can't put much towards a change (as just got married and still paying bills for that), so for me it will be an early version. although in a similar dilemma, and have seen some 297 versions for a little more and is tempting (but probably have to do the right thing and hang fire for a bit). even between the 278 and 296, i know many say the performance isn't really noticeable, but it's the thought of higher bhp, nice switch gears etc. but the 313 would be ace as it's revised some what from what i have heard
  4. have been told the popcharger sounds awesome if only i had a zed ;-(
  5. i had my wheels refurbed recently and the guy uses a mobile tyre fitter. think he may charge £15-20/wheel but that takes into account of travel and diesel etc. so if all 4 done at the same time, i guess cheaper and closer to the £12.50/corner you expect. but got to remember that inflation does happen in all trade, and hence all things cost more. might be worth ringing a few mobile fitters. otherwise how do you take 4 tyres down to a fitter in a zed?
  6. my last car i brought privately had outstanding finance. the guy told me, but as i was buying, he paid it off and showed me the paper work etc. i personally wouldn't pass the full lump sum over and then waiting the seller to pay it off. as above, pay directly to the finance company, or make sure he pays it on the day and it clears or get him to pay for it first and then you pay him. i've seen quite a few without rays, but with GT pack. for the sake of £5-20, i would get a HPI. i can higly recommend experian autocheck £20, but i'll dig up a discount code for £10 off. it's just saved my back side, as the car i was looking at was CAT D, but looked fine. i'm assuming you can haggle on sticker price too. on the money saved, get some wide split rims ;-)
  7. i might pop along to this still (but no zed for me) will have to admire yours remember there's two mcdonalds around cribbs. also any plan if it rains?
  8. audi TT are toasty and well controllable
  9. £265 seems a more competitive price on a P3, from reading around. just looking at options around or close to Bristol
  10. are these reversible, i.e. take them off without damaging interior?
  11. which brands did you go for? bristol pro tyre would be cheaper i think. when you mean local tyre fitter, is that a uk wide branch or an independent? i found when i wanted tyres fitted, own supplied, some uk wide branch ones, said no. will you be disposing the old ones yourself? i was reading Evo past articles, and it said they manage to fit a set of tyres in the car, i can't see it possible
  12. looking at another *cough* forum and if a paying member, think this place gives discount too
  13. i was looking at these, but with people struggling get 300 miles from a tank even steady motorway driving scares me on fuel bills. so the thought of 18k per year, the fuel bill would be quite a bit with an average 20-25mpg
  14. i think it's due for an MOT soon to, would you guys recommend getting the P3 done now as it's on it's year 4 and near 36k, even though it has had oil and filter changed in march? if not now, when to do the P3?
  15. yeah, maybe it was the lack of setup and just a quick seat move forward and make sure i can depress the clutch. but yeah i'm used to the handbrake and when i moved my arm to where i thought it might be, i had to turn and look ;-)
  16. blue with nismo combo would be my favourite if budget allowed ;-(
  17. well people get blasted for not using the search button, so i tried ;-) were there any recommendations anyway?
  18. didn't really think about the zed not having this. really love this feature on my current car, especially on a hot day, as you walk to the car, you can get them open before getting into the car etc.
  19. was told just stick it through washing machine, no detergent and no conditioner; as both will react against the shampoo, polish, wax etc.
  20. great transformation, that dodo stuff must have worked wonders

    Alloy Brush

i use an old wash mitt, but if you want a brush i've read the Ezz one is the best at the moment
  22. i've been reading up on the zed periodic servicing I've read through the service manual: http://metafaq.nissan.co.uk/resources/n ... 190605.pdf should be 12 months or mileage: year 1 @ 9,000 miles P1 year 2 @ 19,000 miles P2 year 3 @ 27,000 miles P1 year 4 @ 36,000 miles P3 the car i have seen, is nice all round, but doesn't really follow the above, but the log book is stamped with the following: registered sept 2004 service: 1st) 9k @ may 05 2nd) 21k @ oct 07 3rd) 30k@ march 08 only the 1st was at nissan and the other 2 at independent garage. if i got it, i would take it for a proper P3 at the begining of the year, to try and bring it back in line what nissan recommends. however, there is a lack of paper work, and the only service paper work was the 3rd one which states oil and filter change. the 2nd one titles in log book oil and filter change, like the 3rd. the first i think is stamped with P1 on it. will this effect future resale value by quite a bit, and is there anything important that might have been missed? the car sounds and runs good though; and is a deal against mine. i'm going to ring the numbers in the log book (as the seller has been really good and given me the details etc.), to see if i can get duplicate invoices or more info. what are your opinions? anything to worry about?
  23. took a 54 plate on a short drive. first outing in a zed. 1st) heavy clutch, but could get used to it, but every time i took off in 1st i juddered off as balance of revs (private sell, so going gentle) or lack of and heavy clutch coming back up, i wasn't use to it. but it seems like it will be hard to find the bitting point, due to the weight of the clutch, is this normal? 2nd) i wouldn't say i'm short, but average height at around 5ft8". i like to drive a little closer to the steering wheel, rather than the laid back approach with more control of the steering wheel (but not close close, so you can't turn the wheel), but i found that the gear shift lever, wasn't in a natural position (in front) and that my shoulder and arm were in a backward and unnatural position (than normal). and also the handbrake wasn't exactly in a normal position either. all things to get use to, but any other average height drivers find this too? the drive was great, so smooth though, very nice
