    Monaro VXR

Very nice cars & great for the price Only drawback is mpg, but if yoy dont do loads of miles then its not such a thing.
  2. Nice buy Kev, I was a beetle fan for yrs when I was in my teens! My personal fav was pre 1967 with the sloping fenders & lights (Cal look). But this one's bodywork seems to be in good shape & condition.

    Gumball 3000

But this was waiting to happen & surprised it had not happened before. Over the years on tv iv seen an F50 come off a rounabout down a street & completely lose it going sidewards towards load of pedestrians on the pavement but somehow miss everyone. A Roller smashed to bits on a dual carrigeway & a Subaru samshing off but into a dirttrack rather than other cars, no other parties involved. A couple of cars in a pile up with a hatchback in France but no casualties as well as a Lambo that almost crashed into a ramshackle house in some village!
  4. Imprezas are cheaper than Evos to run mainly due to 12,000 mile/1yr subaru servicing as compared to Evo's 4,500/6 month servicing schedule! Aslo Subaru dealers are a bit cheaper & mpg is better than Mitsu Evo. I d love a DB9 but too expensine even a few yrs old one

    Gumball 3000

Saw him at the start & got vids he was being followed at speed by another Porsche 997 maybe Turbo in black. Idiots
  6. Oh yeah, not mean or mad enough, a bit sedate compared to others on list inc zed. And parts may not be easy to fing here in Uk?
  7. Revised list after your opinions: 1)Subaru Impreza 2.5 Wrx Sti/ppp (Common/Chav/Interior) 1) BMW M5 new shape (4 to 5 yrs old/ servicng costs by BMW) 2) Nissan Skyline GTR 34 (maintenenace costs & reliability/old) 3) Mustang Roush Stg3 or Shelby (finding right hand drive/petrol) ??

    Gumball 3000

I was there at the start in London purely by chance, took lots of vids, will post soon
  9. Alfa's are beautiful but I dont think Im really that much of a fan that I could live with its shortcommings in terms of reliability;depreciation;less performance than the zed. Im quite tempted by the new shape BMW M5 a few years down the line & Im still seriously considering a full on Impreza Wrx Sti PPP (Prodrive performance pack) thats 320 bhp & 0 to 60mph in about 4.6 seconds! The Holden Monaro is an unusual prospect and so is the 300c, but if I am going down that big 5/6ltr muscle car route then Id prefer the Mustang with the rhd conversion already done. The Infiniti G37 coupe is an interesting one, something that I need to look into maybe. At least I'l be able to put my 19"s from the zed on it!
  10. Not sure about the Monaro being a Vauxhall? Roush Mustang (Stage 3) would be good if found in right hand drive conversion at good price. Kev M5 is an idea though do you think the current M5 model would come down to my price range in a few yrs?
  11. Kev I have the BMW 330d which in a few years I will replace with a second hand 335i or 335d so wont something a bit different. Monkfish the S4 is good but I need somthing a bit more mental;butch;performance type!
  12. Sarnie how about you settle for a 2nd hand 360 Modena that would leave about 60k pounds you could give to me!
  13. I bought my zed 18 months ago & think it is an amazing car in terms of performane; jaw dropping styling; modernity; running costs inc fuel consumption; & reliability. Throw in the main bit, the fact that you get all that & more for a reasonable amount of money, especially 2nd hand & your onto a winner! The only point which would make me sell in a couple of years is the fact that it has only 2 seats. I run another 4 seater 4 door family saloon & still will. But nevertheless I can forsee a 2nd nipper comming along in a few years; that along with taking nipper no 1 to nursery etc will change things. (The Mrs drives the other saloon to work etc). There are gona be many times when I will need to pick up/drop more than 1 person in the family somewhere & I wont have the other car. I could live with it & get by with a bit of planning etc but at the same time could I not have a most of the above traits of zed but with 4 seats also? Here is a little list of 2nd hand 1yr to 3yrs old cars I could contemplate in a couple of years when they would be worth somewhere between 15k to 25k approx pounds. ps I dont want anything slower than the zed. (In order of my preference, with problems listed) 1) Subaru Impreza (MY06) wrx sti (std/ppp)- dated concept;boy racer; chav. 2) Nissan Skyline GTR-34 - my budget would get more than 4 yrs old if that 3) Mitsubishi Lancer Evo9 FQ 340 or preferably FQ360 - servicing every 4.5k miles or 6 months; not as easy/subtle/everyday as above cars 4) Ford Mustang GT Roush or Shelby - Most Left hand drive; gas guzzeler (5) Audi RS4 - too much money even in 2 years time) Any ideas???
  14. Stunning car Tim but may be expensive to maintain as basically exotic & costly such as Ferrari/lambo etc
