  1. One of the reasons Bruce McLaren (Head of Mclaren & designer of Mclaren F1 & car design god!) left Mercedes was as he was getting fed up with cars like this. The whole point of performance cars should be powerful/lightweight cars. Not 3 tons of a motoring barge (with more wires/computers/metal than a NASA spacestation come mobile caravan) that needs a over 700bhp to get it from 0 to 60mph in 4seconds. Dont get me wrong I think the car is amazing & I do like Brabus but IMO this is pointless. Its just an endless horsepower duel between Merc & Audi with BMW joining soon. It would be an ugly (albeit probably quite quick) site wathing that Brabus go round a tight circuit like the Top Gear track etc!
  2. Great work Andy, handy (ps that rhymes) with a spanner! Cos sarnie is a spammer!! 50cent watchout coz I is here
  3. As zzz said power on once straight. But when you get used to it (in dry weather) at sharper corners I occasionaly like to turn in oversteer & power out of mid corner with steering in mild opposite direction! Causes lovely tail out controllled mini power slides!! IMO in a FWD car you have to do the traditional gear down;brake;turn in; accelerate out/through corner. If you want to increase speed through corner then brake later & on way out accelerate to the limit where front wheels are almost losing traction & car is hitting apex nose almost sliding out of control but not. This is good but if you do overdo it can come unstuck by losing front end & skiding out nose first. (into kerb etc!) Hence I prefer RWD as there is firstly more fun to be had with tail out slides etc but IMO more importantly there is more margin for error. By taking corners with slight oversteer turn in & you can get out of trouble with a bit extra opposite lock turn out. But more importantly on a tight circuit (private road) where you may have barriers/kerbs, if you dont do above & take a gradual smoother line through the corner while accelerating out (almost like FWD car), you could overdo it & end up sliding/sliping into kerb etc, by losing traction at front. With extra turn in, & car is pointing at more of a sharper angle into corner & waiting till weight is shifted on back of car mid corner, powering down (with slight opp lock)will only cause car to straighten up for corner & will not be sliding towards kerb nose first. However saying all that you could get the opp lock wrong, too much power & end up fishtailing into the kerb if your unlucky!!
  4. Tyres, brand/condition?
  5. Wondering if it may be a Cat-D, hence they mentioned vandal damage? Could be worse though, could be sold by locals from Casablanca!

  10. Great night chaps, didnt get back till almost 1am, had a nice blast with a Mitsubishi Gallant VR4 on the A40, on the way home! Nice food; superb cars, great company, nice way to spend a normally dull Sunday In fact looking back it seemed like we had known each other for ages, everyone seemed to talk continuosly throughout the night!! Anyway nice to see all of you & yes it was a quite a sight with all of us in a line going through London. Highlights were: how we all managed to pull up outside the restaurant all together (then had to back up all the way down the narrowest lane!); all racing through that tunnel with Nismo etc exhausts sounding crazy (esp Pingu2 with the High flow cats ) ; taking pics on Chelsea Bridge; the looks on the tourists faces going round Westminister & Picadilly Circus!!
  11. Weather looks for tmrw http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml Not sure with rain pissing down
  12. Though I agree in parts to what you have said above, the same can be said for all garages/car salesman around the world, Uk or Japan. A paint job can be re-done anywhere & its not recorded UK or Japan log book. I would however say that Japanese cars are usually lower mileage cars (less miles driven by people in Japan) & are better maintained by general Japanese public than European cars. I dont think we can compare the condition of 5 to 10 yrs old Nissan Sylvia; R32 Skyline; evo4; SI14; etc to newer 1yr to 4 yr old zeds that are not your normal Turbo modifying Jap teenagers second hand, cheap delight.
  13. Ruff Racing Chrome?
  14. If modding'd your plan IMO JDM is the way to go. Prescience, if he's dropping in modded engine can he not just change existing JDM ECU for new one e.g Motec etc with no issues?

    Toyo Tyres

Flakmunky is corrected the T1-R has stiffer sidewalls than T1-S. This is done by adding a reinforced groove-straight line tread, around the outer edge of the tyre. The T1-S had the arrows type tread going all the way from the centre of the tread, right to the outer edge. Alot of the Scooby & Mitsu owners have found slightly quicker lap times with these, with understeer reduced in tighter corners. Saying that I would imagine the T1-S would have a slightly more supple ride than T1-R.
