They did, but they didn't decide against it! The Infiniti G35 Coupe (aka Skyline coupe) has the same platform!

That's really good news about the radio frequencies and that is an absolutely fantastic price for what I think has to be one of the best AV headunits on the market! When I think about it, I suppose I don't actually watch DVD's that often anyway, so the region thing isn't too big a deal! Like you, I have tonnes of stuff on DivX, which has to be one of this headunit's best features together with the SD card!!!!!! I totally agree with you about the surround sound! If you can find a DVD which has a Dolby intro, it sounds frikkin' sweeeeet!!!!!!!!!

I'm pretty sure that it's the same as the OEM bonnet but made from carbon fibre. I'll do my best to get some pictures and an idea of what he wants for it when he gets back to work next week!

Hi mate yeh let me know how much I am interested if you cant get hold of my pm my secretary Sl114 Just discovered that he's out of the office until Wednesday next week. I'll ask him when he gets back, if you can wait???

Hey Zedrush, I know a guy at work who is selling a carbon bonnet. I think it's a Seibon - looks the same as the OEM bonnet but in carbon. He has it on a GM but it would look loads better on a Kuro! I can ask him how much he want's for it, if you're interested????

mm 15k would just get car here in uk thats with out any test fees which are over 1,600k it would have to sell for 17.5 at bottom price...mmm decisions decisions best leave this one for private order to much capital to invest It might fetch even more if you do the small paint mods that I spoke of and add the nismo decals! Never seen one like that in the UK and it might give it that wow factor that helped Zedrush sell his car on at a good profit! -
Just been onto Facebook and added Louis and Ruby to my friends! You forget for a while that people have real names when you're so used to using nicknames on this forum! Which reminds me, no jokes please fellas!!!

Does anyone know if there is a 350z owners club group on facebook??? If not, could we create one???
-
Yeah that's right, but the problem is that I can't afford my monthly payments on top of a mortgage, so I'd rather make no or little profit and pay less per month to begin with!

Sod the fact that I'm supposed to be thinking about selling my zed in order to buy a house............. I've just discovered that the 07MY Zed is now included on the Nissan employee purchase scheme and I'm entitled to a whopping £5k off the list price!!! After some quick calcs at work, I worked out that I could save about £150 p/m by driving a new zed on PCP as opposed to repaying the loan on my 4 year old model! Needless to say, I went straight to the dealer after work to find out if this was too good to be true!!!! To cut a long story short, it was! My calcs were quite a bit out to say the least! The figure that Nissan use as a GFV (guaranteed future value) after 3 years was only £11.5k, a good couple of grand less than I thought!!!! This mean't that I would have to finance the difference over the first 3 years, making the payments pretty similar to my loan and putting all my plans to an abrubt stop! Shame, because we all know that 3 year old zeds are worth a good few grand more than that, and therefore I shouldn't have to finance so much in the first place! Ok, so a totally new zed being released in two years time won't help matters, but as far as I'm concerned, I'd only want it for a year anyway! I might have a look into getting a loan over the longest period possible and paying it back when I sell the car in a year. That way, I can reduce my loan payments but still drive a zed, buy a house, and still not lose out when I come to sell because my discount + monthly repayments should cover the depreciation!!!!! I'd appreciate any thoughts to how I might be able to make this work out for me if you have any?????

It's the Nismo (Version 2) That is almost identical to what I would do with mine if I had the money! I'd add bonnet vents and I'd prefer to paint the chin spoiler, lower skirts and spats black to match the wheels! Seen it done on a Nismo Z-tune, with all the Nismo stripes and it looks feckin' sweet! -
I never knew that, you think they would have made them look different though wouldnt you? They do in a way. The standard headunit doesn't follow the contours of the facia like the Bose one does. That's why I had a standard US spec unit to replace the single din jap spec headunit. It looked just like the Bose but without the cassette slot, which was replaced with little squares like you see on the Rays spokes!!!
-
quote]i meant the standard nissan headunit and the bose headunit. Arnt they the exact same size and everything? Nope - The standard headunit is slightly smaller and made by Clarion. It's used in the X-trail too. However, in the US, their standard headunit is the same size as the Bose!
-
I'd be interested to know where you got them from for that! I've been after some for a while now, the cheapest quote I've had so far is $2000 delivered to UK without tyres (approx £1000) from a guy called Brinster who deals on eBay. You've managed to make quite a saving on what I already thought was a pretty reasonable price! They do look awesome! Any plans to get the rest of the Nismo kit at some point????
-
You should be able to get one from your main stealer, as non GT-spec UK cars have it fitted to accomodate the standard headunit!
-
I wouldn't buy a US spec headunit! I had a US OEM 2-din (non bose) headunit in the zed before I fitted the JVC and I found that they work on different frequencies over there. Not quite as big a problem as with the Japanese small bandwidth, but they only seem to tune to odd decimal places. (ie. 97.5, 97.7, 97.9 etc.) Not the end of the world I know, but it could be a pain if your fav frequency is 96.2 for example! Also, I think a US AV headunit of this kind would only play US region DVDs! I'd play it safe and get a European model, that way you get a valid manufacturers warranty incase anything goes wrong! Sorry, I can't help you with the steering controls as I don't have any. Although I have recently aquired some from a scrap car, so I might be getting hold of the PAC device and doing my own retrofit! Watch this space! As for the Alpine, I was recommended by many audio specialists to go with the JVC. Not having touch screen, means that the picture quality is much better and you don't get the added pain of greasy finger prints or even scratches! Plus the SD card reader is absolutely awesome! I have 40 albums on my 2GB card, so I never need to change CD unless I want to watch a different DVD. I've now also added a rearview camera - AWESOME! Not sure if anyone else has this headunit, but I'd been interested to hear their thoughts??? Personally, I think the contrast of the silver finish looks so much better in the zed than the Alpine!

I'll definately be up for this, although I'm gonna wait to see who picks up pre-season injuries before I pick a team!!! I played with some mates last year, joined a league of 20 odd teams at week 8 with a 300 point deficit and still ended up finishing in the top 10! You've all been warned! lol -
Spotted two GM's at todays British Grand Prix practice session. First one was on the A43 just outside Brackley at about 8:30am, and he gave me wave! Second one was parked in the main car park. (20'' Axis Pentas and a Nismo V1 rear spoiler) Anyone on here????
-
If you register, you can then add items to your basket and subsequently see the postage costs at the "checkout". Only £250 for delivery of a set of rims, so that makes £1300 for a set of 19'' Volks!!!! Just have to hope that the customs don't do you over! I also noticed that you can get 10.5'' NISMO's for the rear!
-
Came accross their website whilst browsing my350z.com: http://www.nengun.com/ Just wondered if anyone has dealt with them before??? They seem to have Volks at pretty reasonable prices, and some nice Nismo accessories too!

No I live in the UK, but I'm an engineer at Nissan's Technical Centre in Cranfield, so we have a massive part to play in developing the performance characteristics of the car (Europe leads the world in this respect, so if it's good for Europe, it's good for anywhere!). The guy driving the car works for our dynamic performance group based in Germany. I think that the photos were taken near the Nurburgring, as one I've seen in an earlier thread shows the car pulling into our workshop (you'll notice the other zeds, micra and Infiniti G35 parked up too) The other Toyota prototype you refer to may have just been there by coincidence, it is the ring afterall, and most of the worlds motor manufacturers use the public roads for evaluation.
-
Where on earth did you hear that? That is ridiculous There are much better and cheaper ways of disguising a car without doing that sort of thing, which I'm not sure they'd get away with anyway! Besides I work with the guy driving it, so unless he's moved to Toyota in the last week, it's definately a Nissan!
