Spent some time in Las Vegas last summer and they were all over the place. They do look the biz on the road and sound great. If my daughter were the final arbiter my order would be in right now. However I'm getting on a bit and think it's really a young mans car. Its a pitty that the brain lags the body by 20 yrs or so cos I'm thinking get one. But let's face it how daft would it look. Oh no, does this mean my next car has to be a sensible one like the wife keeps telling me! Boo hoo, boo bloody hoo

Anyone interested in switching or does Z still rule?

I did the Bose hack a few weeks ago and also had a job pulling the console forward and out following removal of the indicted screws. Referring to the pictures in the GMballistic link above.....and assuming you were able to pull the top of the console away (the bit where the 3 gauge pod is ..see picture 12) Mine wouldn't pull out because the two brackets on each side of the Bose unit that hold it in place (ie the brackets with 4 screws each side holding it in) were catching right down at the bottom where they are secured at the same point as the white air con conontrol box ...see picture 17. The brackets are curved at the bottom and you can see the securing holes in them in picture 17 To get the console out I had to also remove the two screws securing each of these brackets (you can see the two black screws at the LHS of the picture at the bottom) Once I removed them the console fell out and I was able to see what had caused the removal problem. However as I said earlier if you can wiggle the bottom curved bits of these brackets past any obstructions then the console will come out without the need to remove these screws I've just mentioned Hope this is clear and can help

DO TELL! Does the 04 DE car have this light. After 10 yrs ownership any new detail is thrilling. A bit like marriage I suppose! Or maybe Its just that I need to get out more.

It looks like a Tom Tom Start 25 to me. Or maybe I just read the thread title? As Del Boy would say " I know thaat, what I meant was is it a Tom Tom 25 like what the title says" Blush blush. My New Years resolution was to stop speed reading and make less daft mistakes. Looks like I've broken that one already. Ha ha

P.S. Which 5" Tom Tom was it as there a a few or are case sizes the same?

I'm liking this thread more and more. Thought of fitting my Tom Tom Go 530 at one time but it would have needed some sort of facia to make it look nice in the cubby. I was low on enthusiasm at the time and have been unable to top up with any since so it's still an outstanding desire. The 5 " Tom Tom looks to fit quite snug so I may follow suit. Like the retractable cubby as well (didn't know about these) anyone have any idea of price?

I've had my car 10 yrs now and took the MAF out to clean it earlier this yr. It looked spotless to me but cleaned it anyway and it didn't seem to make any differance in any respect. Cleaned the throttle valve a few months ago which did make a big differance in the cars performance as it appeared to pull much harder etc. But no fuel economy gains in either case. I would have thought that 20 mpg around town is normal anyway.

I have 20 mm all round so unable to help with pics but I found they made a huge differance when cornering. Prior to fitting them I got the shock of my life when following a family saloon around a corner which it took with no problem while I went into a spin. I wasn't going particularly fast either. Ive never had any probs on any corners since fitting them and my confidence has leaped up. Well worth the dosh and I assume 25mm would be even better. The only worry I would have with fitting 25mm is how far the tyre would stick, out not only from an aesthetic view point but a legal point as well. I also think it might look a bit odd when viewed from the behind. It might make the wheels look thin as they'll be poking out but not filling the wheel arch. Wider wheels would look better from this stand point imo. Try the search cos I'm sure you'll find pics there.

thanks veef13 I had forgotten I posted this one. Not to keen on ebay purchases so decided to share my key with my daughter. As for Durk, well there are ways and means of getting stuff cheaper. You could offer to cut the managers hedges or lawns, or maybe sit on his knee and blow in his ear, depending upon his particular persuasion ha ha. However I would be wanting a much bigger discount for the latter option though. Good luck with it!

I'm trying out Redex just now. First measure went in last week. Not noticed anything yet though. Maybe if I send a letter up the chimney, Santa will leave me one or two horse powers in my stocking this Xmas.

Had hoped to get some benifit without major surgery, more in the way of out patients work, but it would seem not. The cars running very well at the moment following cleaning of the throttle body. Thanks for all your input guys.

The cars done 67k now and I assume it's lost a few brake horse over the years (no way of telling I suppose as I've no starting point) but I understand power is lost as milage goes up. My question is can some of it be recovered by fitting new sensors/other or is it gone for good (without having to re map)

Ha ha ha so I'm not the only mad sod in the UK. Just tucked mine up in the garage (9:20 pm)after being rained upon earlier and stood drying it off with a micro fibre cloth before I could leave it for the night. Never mind there was the added advantage that bloody X factor's on again.

Think it's put me off now. May spend the £400 on a front end respray I will definitely see the benifit of that.
