  12. My 2004 350Z is feeling a little unwell just now so can anyone recommend a competent garage hospital in the North East who can save its life and carry out repairs . Thanks in anticipation!
  13. 2004 350Z 110,000 mls…all car checks OK …. Battery drain with car locked 80 ma, Alternator output just over 14v I’ve had two AGM sealed batteries Yoasa and Bosch in the last for years each with a 4 yr warranty and each packed in after two years with the same fault ie the battery not holding charge. In both cases the suppliers would not replace under warranty saying the cells checked out ok and that's as far as they would go. After a little research I find the problem seems to be that these batteries don’t like not being fully charged at all times ie if after starting you don’t travel for long enough to replace the starting current then you must put the battery on charge at the end of your journey or drive around a for 30 to 60:mins according to Chat GPT. It would seem that undercharging causes lead sulphate crystals to grow on the cells reducing their ability to hold charge. Anyone else had this problem? If so don’t you think this is a con when you’re not given a copy of the warrant to check when buying and just told it’s a 4 yr warranty end of !!
  14. Need the valve stem oil seals replacing on my 2004 350 GT. Can anyone recommend a reasonable priced garage in the NE area or a recommend a good technician who’s looking for spare time work. Fingers crossed🤞
  15. Hi, anyone got info/ suggestions on this job, typically… * is it a job to much for a reasonably able guy with socket set, loads of spanners and big hammers * i understand the job can be done without taking off the cylinder heads by using a JWT valve spring compressor. Anyone used one before. * Will I need special Nissan tools * which parts offer the biggest head ache eg timing, timing chain cover removal or other * what to watch out for during the job any other input welcome (would love to attempt it but a bit apprehensive to say the least)
  16. Anyone know if copper or steel brake pipes were fitted the these cars?
  17. Just as a side note. I’ve used Vic Young in South Shields since 2004 to look after my car and I’ve never been disappointed, they have also quoted for my work. In fact they look after my wife’s car and my daughters and her partners who live in Durham and use Vic Youngs free pick up and drop off at your home service. if you contact them just mention Dick Hogg to the service manager Stuart Bedlington 0191 427 1566

  19. Anyone know what thread type and size the nipples are on the 350? I’m looking to bleed the brakes soon but anticipating the worst😂
  20. Been ill so haven’t been able to get along yet but will do as soon as I can. I've had a quote from them which seems fine but need to ask a few questions first. By the way I was advised to try Lucas Engine stop Leak to soften the seals a little. Will report back when that’s done
  21. Cheers young mam, as it happens I’ve just discovered them and will be popping along to get a price. Thanks for your post though👍
