  1. Sounds quite normal! see this thread viewtopic.php?f=10&t=22056
  2. General purpose clear silicone?
  3. Whilst the sat nav option may seem to be desirable (possibly because of the price new people think it must be the bees knees ) having read many owner's frustration with the system I chose not to include it when I bought my car new and instead use a 'free-standing' sat nav that can easily be transferred between cars. A search will reveal some have made tom-toms (or the like) fit the standard cubby - ending up with a better system and saving a whole lot of dosh. So don't be put off it does not have the factory fitted sat nav and frankly you're better off looking for a ZED that has other add-ons that might be on your preferred list and then buy a tom-tom (or whatever) that you can more usefully use in whatever car you are using Care with the bumper identification - aftermarket bumpers tend to come with the import square plate holder and are fitted to UK suppied cars, whilst some imports have had UK bumpers fitted
  4. Not as gorgeous as Sea the stars That horse is worth more than 1300 370z's Still 295 horses short of what I enjoy 'Fraid horse racing does nothing for me, although the racecourse is within walking distance the only thing I feel I missed was not seeing the 370 and GTR -
  5. Not sure what work you had done or whether your starting problem was an issue before it went in for the recent 'work'? Also, when you say "tried to restart it but nothing" do you mean no sound of the engine being turned over - i.e. total silence - not even any clicking noises from the starter motor area? I'm no expert of the ZED's electrics but going on previous experience if you did not have the problem before the recent work, and given co-incidences are rare, it might be down to a detached wire to the starter solenoid or the starter itself, or possibly a fuse protecting those items that might have got blown? If on the other hand the starter is trying to work but simply has not got enough guts to turn the engine over, then yes the battery might be knackered - best get it checked. As regrds the alternator - is your voltmeter still working as before? If that seems to be acting normally when the engine is running I would have thought your alternator should be OK. With a bit of luck someone more familiar with ZED electrics will be along to help out, or you could try contacting ZMANALEX on here by pm - he will almost certainly know what you need to check, and over and above that is usually in the position to supply any necessary parts at competitive prices
  6. Welcome to the forum and nice to see you have found roads that can be both challenging and very rewarding in a ZED, as well as ofering spectacular scenery
  7. Looks a great choice for the car
  8. Needs a stag standing alongside And that's not you Andrew
  9. Guess we could have lie-in and wait for you
  10. Hope the Derby traffic dosen't spoil your fun.............. Let us know how you got on
  11. The lack of deterrents, right across the range from terrorist outrages to dropping litter, is the reason this country is going down the drain. I really do not envy Ming and his colleagues, having conformed with endless procedures and paperwork and then seeing criminals let off so easily, which adds more to their street cred than serving to deter from ongoing crimes. As a nation we have lost basic understandiing or right and wrong, such that now we are magnet for all the scroungers, layabouts and criminals who see us as easy picking and just laugh at the so-called penalties, when they are handed out........ Can't blame you at all Ming for getting your frustration off your chest, but thank god we still have people like you still willing to do what they can

    My rear end

And they come in carbon fibre as well... I so want one of those now if they do fit straight when mounted properly. It fits staight when mounted properly I just wedged it between the panel and the exhaust to see what it looked like and take pics for the forum More so my right exhaust is sitting low as the bracket on that side needs adjusting.....i will sort that out when i put decats and a y-pipe to save me double work It is my eyes that need testing Sorry GT4, did not see the the reference to test fitting and having since seen the pic posted by Mark must say that I like it and neatly updates the rear end, mentioning which you can mine a :kicking for derising your trial fix

    My rear end

Either my eyes need testing again or that diffuser ain't sitting straight - better ask Shire he's an expert now on that subject
  14. Is that all, I've got about 550 miles to do to get to the start Seriously, whether you are coming straight from home or staying overnight just make sure you have filled up as close as possible to FA. Last year we were running on fumes after some 300 miles of Stews 180 mile route Whatever, you will enjoy it and the great thing I find about the ZED is that I never feel tired after a days driving - it is so effortless, but so rewarding that you just yearn for more
  15. Welcome to the forum and yes, the ZED is a great cruiser, but has the essential turn of speed and handling that makes it a really great driver's car. Try one
  16. 14bhp, but unless you are circuit racing, on the road there is little in it between the 276, 296 and 309bhp models. Frankly the 276 is probably best for typical road use, pound for pound. This thread explains some more: viewtopic.php?t=1781 or do a search on 'model differences' in the General section for more info
  17. Having been on this forum for some 3 years I would say more ZEDs seem to have this 'issue' than don't and rarely ever has it been reported that it led to actual clutch/release bearing/flywheel/gearbox problems. I had it my 04 ZED and sometimes hear it in my current 56 ZED - a trait that seems nothing to worry about. There is no doubt that the gearchange is not 'sweet' until the box has warmed up and I always give the throttle a little blip when going up or down the gears when cold, particuarly into and out of 2nd gear, to help the engine speed match the transmission speed and hopefully prolong the life of the syncros
  18. Again its a pre-facelift but the price is better. Guess you are local to me (Epsom) and also 'Cavey' on here (we are both Colins!). He has an pre-facelift Azure convertible and which was bought from Wilsons. I have a 2006 facelift coupe if you want to compare the changes or I can perhaps give you a few pointers if you want to pm me
  19. A man is dining in a fancy restaurant and there is a gorgeous redhead sitting at the next table. He has been checking her out since he sat down, but lacks the nerve to talk with her. Suddenly she sneezes, and her glass eye comes flying out of its socket toward the man. He reflexively reaches out, grabs it out of the air, and hands it back. 'Oh my, I am so sorry,' the woman says as she pops her eye back in place.... 'Let me buy your dinner to make it up to you,' she says. They enjoy a wonderful dinner together, and afterwards they go to the theatre followed by drinks. They talk, they laugh, she shares her deepest dreams and he shares his. She listens. After paying for everything, she asks him if he would like to come to her place for a nightcap and stay for breakfast. They had a wonderful, wonderful time. The next morning, she cooks a gourmet meal with all the trimmings. The guy is amazed. Everything had been SO incredible! 'You know,' he said, 'you are the perfect woman. Are you this nice to every guy you meet?' 'No,' she replies. . . Wait for it. . It's coming. . The suspense is killing you, isn't20it? She says: 'You just happened to catch my eye.'
  20. There's some irony there - no work to keep employed on the ground but billions about to waste in space
