  1. Welcome, any advice gratefully received for this amateur detailer!

You'll need to prise it up, I'd use a flat head screwdriver with a decent cloth over the end of it, or best of all a wedge of perspex. Then you won't damage the paint but will have something to get under it. A compromise is an old credit card, but that needs care.
  3. Seems well priced. Good luck.

    Absolute Scum!

Sorry to hear that Mick. Not pleasant, should remove fingers as they get caught.
  5. Sun here today....... But Friday was a nigthmare. After struggling to Uxbridge in the torrential rain, had to go to pick my Mum up in an emergency from Maidenhead (that little place on the telly Friday!) to take her to hospital (Slough, ooh, more rain!) to then get a phone call from my Nan saying the water is lapping at the door. Meanwhile, Dad is in Sweden, brother in Wales and I'm bed side! Damn weather caused nothing but hassle, on top of the trauma. Roll on winter, at least it'll freeze then. On the up side, got back on Friday night and found I won £50 on the premium bonds. Am treating myself to a TT conversion now as Val's been saying it's cheaper than an N/A tune.
  6. This sounds good, will double chack my diary in the office tomorrow but I'm in if all is clear!
  7. Funny, I can't see the aerial has any impact on the car's look at all. Agree, we're not in the 80's, we're in the Noughties. And by rights surely it should be Volvo / Merc esq with it in the rear window filament or something if modernisation is the game. Funny what sticks out to different people.
  8. Do you guys really feel that having a stubby aerial improves the look of the car a) at all, enough to have poorer reception on the radio?
  9. Sounds very impressive, nice one. How much to get all that done vs. the FI ideas?

    Driving abroad

I went there last summer for two nights. It was ok but nothing to get excited over, depends on what you are looking for really. Good food, good beer and a good rest. Should be ok then It wasn't bad, it was nice but there was nothing to make me go back. Will probably try somewhere else in Belgium next time. If you like moated old cities with more history than most other countries, then it's good. If not, then you will see nothing of interest. Only advice for the rest of Belgium - avoid Gent. There is nothing there. Really. Nothing.

  12. Cheers! Had a great time in Bruges, the roads to and from Calais work very....... smoothly! Might have to take you up on that offer soon though!

    Auto express review

+2 - I notice this a lot on my daily commute on the M4. Some days I hardly notice it being loud, but others, esp when wet its really loud. This is not wind noise though, its cabin noise, mainly from the road. I'm thinking of sound deadening it all behind the seats, boot etc but a bit daunted by taking it all apart. Fitting a tonneau and getting rid of the Bridgestones will help. Have Toyo's (which did help) and am about to partake in install, so noise will be a thing of the past!
  14. The front splitter looks similar to the one on Sarnie's Orange 350......

Thanks Am going to see what Bruges is like in the summer. Spent a New Year there and it was amazing. With Eurotunnel now doing their short trip ticket over two days, it can be as little as £40 return for a car over the weekend. Bargain!
  16. I've driven from Leeds to London this morning and can confirm... It's grim up north.

Am taking the Zed across to Europe, have searched the site and can't find a thread I seem to remember about what you need when travelling there? I've got hi-vis jacket stuck in my head for some reason Anyone know what is essential for the trip?
  18. Looks awesome mate - is it going to fit in that garage?! Really pleased for you, would love one. Hope you enjoy it.
  19. Have decided to got into Bruges for Saturday night. I will be at Folkestone nice and early tomorrow so will keep my eyes open for any other Zeds.....

+1 - Wind noise can be confused with cabin noise though which I would say is greater due to the open rear. Not tiring IMO, how can seats that comfy with the torque of a V6 tire you? I get 25mpg (almost 26) on average. Harder driving 20 or just under. But it is a 3.5L lump.
  21. Need help guys, Le Touquet is fully booked, everywhere. Any other suggestions for somewhere that's nice enough to take the lady for one night?
  22. Not at the moment but some of them look OK. Could be tempted to do Jools and the hotel is renowned.
  23. I know, that's why I wondered what was around there. I'm thinking of going this weekend, just for the Saturday night. Le Touquet looks to be the favourite. Will see if I can find a hotel....
