  1. How things can change in a week. Great news!
  2. I don't know who to. Never seen a UK Zed with one of these on.
  3. It really doesn't seem worth the effort to me when K1's and Scorpions aren't that much more. A year or two ago I would be outraged at people putting cheap Ebay tat on their £30k cars but as Zed are worth about tuppence now, who cares!
  4. I tried SRB, but they told me I need to speak with the Greek dealer, who in turn told me he won't be getting a new shipment from Chargespeed until March at the soonest. And SRB can't do anything about it, so... I would make some enquiries into importing from the States. It may be your only option if you want one fairly quickly.
  5. Be quick - they're depreciating by the day!
  6. Good point! Please don't be put off going to ESR. Andrew, Fletch and the team are doing a stirling job under hellish circumstances. Knowing that there are members re-mortgaging, maxxing their credit cards and selling their grannies in the name of modding can only help Phil's recovery!
  7. No idea but I'll see if anyone more techie than me can help.
  8. The reason that John and Claire took over in the first place was when after spending 7 months of my life organising the 2003 JAE at Billing at the after event club rep meet I asked if anyone would step up to the plate and take on the 2004 event not a single person stepped forward Until around xmas time it looked as if JAE had run its course when John and Claire stepped in with an offer to use their events company to run the event What people don't realise now is since it moved away from Billing it costs a fortune to put on and to fund it I know that bank loans initially have been taken out to keep it going IMHO the event has grown into a monster and can not be run and organised by volunteers in their spare time and by god I should know after the 2003 event The nicest ting about last year was it seems that by moving away from the bleak unfriendly venue of the EAST of England show ground the event returned to the friendly one that it had always been since when the event was first started all those years ago Sorry for the somewhat boring responce but just trying to expain the situation as I see it For without John and Claire JAE would have ended after 2003 But the move so far south effectively ended it for many in the North and Scotland.
  9. AFAIK Nixy doesn't have lesbian tendencies so it may not have the same effect on her.
  10. Must be all those good wishes radiating from the interweb! Fantastic news!
  11. Thanks for the support everyone - a forum is only as good as its members.
  12. Its difficult to add to the above without repeating everything said. Phil has been a great friend to the site and everyone on here. Katrina and I send our best wishes to Phil, Mrs Phil, Andrew and the rest of their family at this awful time.
  13. Have you met Digsy? Hair will be a flight of fancy soon I think you must be mistaking me for Mike.
  14. Putting me off getting a roadster all this...
  15. Whatever you give him it won't be terminal - Greg House will find the cure!

    New Scirocco

Saw my first one of these up close yesterday and I think I have to revise my opinion on it. The photos simply don't do the shape and particularly the proportions justice. In flesh it really doesn't look like a regular hatch, its far too low and wide for that. The lower front grille really dominates the front and makes it look quite aggressive, if not quite the "scare small children" type of aggression that the original concept had. VW have even resisted the temptation to stick it on tiny wheels and make buyers pay for the upgrade. The interior's pretty safe and boring but, needless to say, feels a quality job. One thing though - why call it Scirocco? I'm of the age where that name conjures up limp-wristed, all white MK2's driven by girls and hairdressers. This car is far too muscular for that and would have suited the Corrado handle far better. Surely they could have played on the fact that the Corrado was one of the best handling FWD cars of the nineties and not traded on image alone....
