IIRC there is a potential weakness in the flexi joints when attached to certain aftermarket cats. You'd have to search for more details.

I seem to remember noticing it more on my Blade but maybe I'd just got used to it by then.

Try the Gallery. There will be GM cars in there. I doubt there will be any difference in pre-MY06 and MY06 cars as the paint is the same.
