  1. Someone who seems to spend all his free time photographing police cars... http://www.ukpolicevehicles.co.uk/
  2. As said above, all 350Z are made in Japan, at Tochigi.
  3. Apparently (never tried it myself), if you remove the tail/brake light which is held on by 3 screws (see owners manual for instructions), you can then reach in to the back of the indicator unit to gain access to the bulb.
  4. I think Kev946 would disagree with that - remember the BMW thread?
  5. How about a Subaru Legacy 3.0 R Spec? You can get 1 year old examples (UK spec not grey imports) for around £20k. Or, if you buy new, Subaru will give you £3k worth of petrol vouchers.
  6. Ahh. Accident Blackspot. Needs a Speed Camera.
  7. The sales guys were correct, it's pretty much a std VW-Audi feature that allows you to disable the interior ultrasonic movement detector. Is it a gimmick? Have you ever tried turning the ultrasonics off on the Z?
  8. It's a deliberate mis-typing of VHPD7 (steve_b's username on the OC). On the keyboard, C is next to V, G next to H etc...
  9. Magnatec is Semi-Synthetic. And no it won't do any harm if you were to mix a Full Synthetic with a Semi-Synthetic or mineral oil.
  10. What happed to Kev946 is one of the more extreme examples of what's been slowly happening on the OC over the last few months. 2 or 3 moderators over there are acting like the thought-police. If you don't follow the party-line and worship at the great god 350Z & OC and dare suggest that the 350Z isn't perfect and everything on the OC isn't just fine & dandy you risk trouble from the mods. I understand that occasionally mods have to edit or delete posts if the content is offensive or blatant trolling, but simply saying, for example, that another car is better than the 350Z is not in that category. Then deleting any posts that question why the thread has been edited/posts deleted is unnecessary censorship. It will just end up discouraging people from posting and, ultimately, from staying on the forum.
  11. Kev, You have been very badly treated by the other site. It seems that one or two moderators/members over there are on a power trip. As far as I'm concerend what you posted was fair and/or good humoured banter, but some people over there completely over-reacted. If they carry on like that I can see them alienating more and more users.
  12. The button is only spare on the Coupe. On the Roadster it's for the electric roof.
  13. Correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I'm aware this has always been the case since the Z was launched in the UK. Nissan UK would have liked to offered the Nismo exhaust as an option/accessory, but it couldn't pass the EU drive-by noise regulations, so Nissan UK couldn't legally offer it for road use.
  14. The '8 speed' box in the Skyline is, IIRC, a CVT where the electronics mimic a 'stepped' 8 gear transmission as one of the modes the driver can select. Lexus, however, do now offer a 'proper' 8-speed torque converter auto gearbox in the latest LS. Apparently, and unoffficially, Lexus engineers will admit that the car doesn't actually need 8 speeds, but as Mercedes gearboxes 'only' have 7-speeds......
  15. IIRC, UK sped Zeds are fitted with McGard locking nuts by Nissan GB.
  16. Republica - Ready to go Girlschool - Race with the Devil
  17. How VASCAR works: http://www.pepipoo.com/VASCAR.htm I believe that the minimun distance that the Police have to follow you for or minimun distance to time you over is 0.125 miles.
  18. Wasn't there a post on the 'old' site where Castrol had been asked and recommended against using the Magnatec 5W-30 in the Z? (I have a bit of an oil fetish, so I remember stuff like that)
  19. The ad says the LPG tank is in the spare wheel well, so probably no loss of boot space.
  20. Z doesn't have HT leads as such: It has individual coils over each spark-plug, so just 'ordinary' wiring between the ECU and each coil/plug.
  21. Hmm. I wonder how Nissan GB will feel about Autocar invalidating the warranty on their press-car with all the mods they're planning to do?
  22. S2000 is lighter and definitely more nimble & agile than the Z, but mine was considerably more expensive to run than the Z: Grp 20 insurance, more costly servicing and similar fuel consumption. (Only the tyres were cheaper, but then at 2" smaller diameter they should be). But, like you, I'd have liked to be able to afford to run them both.
  23. Holdcroft Nissan will sell them for £199 http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2731
  24. If you press and hold the top button on the trip computer for about 1-2 seconds it will automatically display the time, regardless of what's currently displayed. Press the top button again, or just wait about 10 seconds, and the display reverts to what was shown previously.
