  1. any one got a picture of an 06 nav with no cubby door
  2. if it is one of the ones where they come out all in one, does that mean nissan didn't have a second facia to fit in for the nav. and that the facia was built into the nav unit and just bolted in.
  3. makes perfect sense, the only way to find out is to take it out and see what happens. just not got round to doing it, can't be arsed to dismantle the interior at the mo. just been so cold. i'm guessing its about a 10 min job to take it out.
  4. the box in mine is removable, but i think i will loose the lid if i take it off, as it looks like the lid is attatched to the box, or is this wrong?
  5. right been doing some serching as it seems no one has any answers to my first questions. i remember there being talk that the old 03 cubby only fitted in cars up to 04-05. and that they did not fit in an 2006. mine is an 06, but does not have all the face lift parts in the dash, would it be the same as an 05 but registered later. and when they talk about the 06 cars are they referring to all 06 cars or just those that got the facelift interior. secondly if the 03 cubby doesn't fit then the 06 satnav cubby was one with no lid on it. is it possible to order this part seperatly so i can use that adapter to fit my nav into. my car reg seems to have put me in Zed Limbo, im bot sure if i'm classed as an 06, or a late plated 05, i'm definatly not a facelift car, and now i'm confused what to get. gaurenteed if i order an 03 cubby with retractable lid it won't fit my car, but if i order the other one i bet that won't fit. i don't know which way to go with this especially as no one seems to remember how they fitted there screens into there cubbies.
  6. i don't mind that, looks smart, bit only the smaller ones, i prefer my exhaust tips rolled in. not a fan of straight slash cut.
  7. when it comes to brakes they also do brown stuff, but thats generally what happens when they fail i had green stuff pads years ago and they were good pads, especially for the price, but did kick up alot of brake dust. ii here the red stuff is better, and thats what is going on mine in about 4000 miles, and i shall be visiting CS
  8. gt4 register made me chuckle had this immage of a class of Zeds, 10/176 here sir 9/176 here sir 18/176 not here sir, we think he span out last night, and his mum is keeping him at home.
  9. i think this is just a natural brake thin by the sounds of it. as a car stands still for a while especially if its rained, the brakes naturally rust. if its left long enough they can almost stick themselves together. once you pull away it brakes this, (which might be the antilock feel your getting) and you use your brakes which clears any excess. and then they'll be fine. mine does it when i leave it in the garage over night if i drove home in the rain. once the summer hits you'll probably find it won't do it, but all this extra water and road salt, speed up the surface corrsion process
  10. i have never dismantled the mirrors on the Zed, but i am guessing that in the cabin in the corner of the window, (other side of the mirror) there should be a panel that should "ping off" may have screws, can't remember off hand. under there should be the fixings for the mirror assembly that attatch it to the car. should be able to unscrew and remove. probably have to under 1 o2 connectors for the electrics of it. after that i think you should be able to see inside. if not you may need to treat it like a rubiks cube and dismantle it as you go. i suggest you take a photo diary as you do it. then you can post up a how to when your finished
  11. think i'm at a wedding on the 7th, most of my feb weekends are gone.
  12. dismantle and re grease. possibly just got gunked up.
  13. i never saw my car before i bought it, had it trailered all the way down from harrowgate. you should get most of your answers from the questions you ask, i did alot of them over the phone. then its just a visual check to make sure what they said is correct. in fact the last 3 cars i have bought have been long distance ones and i bought all without viewing first. just make sure its HPI clear, has not been in any accidents has full service history is a UK car how many previous owners has there been any major work carried out on it do you have receipts for all work done so far to be honest with such a new car, with such low milage the only thing you need to be careful of is that it isn't an insurance repair either a CAT C or CAT D. the engines are pretty sound on the car, and as long as it has been well maintained it should be fine. i only tend to make more of an effort if its an older higher milage car. as its more likely something has gone wrong or been repaired or likely to go wrong in the near future. if you want me to view it, i prefer to do it in daylight, and so would possibly be able to have a look at the weekend. your other option if your worried about mechanicals is get the AA or RAC to do one of their 20 point checks on it. costs about £30 they go out check the car over and give you a report of anything that needs doing. i personally would probably just spend £10 and do an online HPI check, its the quickest and easiest way to weed out dodgy cars,
  14. carpet on the wall is the way forward! i've got my bike hanging on a big hook on the garage wall, its been there for a couple of months now but I still open the garage expecting to find a bonnet with a bike embedded in it i need to do the same.
  15. being to stiff i'm sure you can fix that by letting some of the pressure out. i know you can't put it back in, but i'm sure you can adjust lifters, by letting stuff out?
  16. i just noticed your thread title, are you planning to take it to the vets and have its reporductive organs removed?
  17. happy birthday buddy, have a goodun.
  18. i live in ipswich, i suppose i could have a look at it with you. if you come over to mine we can go in my zed and it will help give you a comparison. when were you looking at going?
  19. am going to put carpet cuttings on the wall to the drivers side as i keep banging the door on the wall. as for exhaust, i know you were looking at the turboxs but thought it was 2 noisey, apparently on their website it comes with exhaust bungs as standard so it can be quitened down. what you looking at replacing the K1 with?
  20. i pull in to mine at an angle, so the passenger door mirror, folded is only 1 inch from the wall, and it leaves me enough space on the drivers side to get out, about 3 foot. to work on the car in there, i half reverse it out, so any engine work can be done with plenty of space. especially once the work bench goes in. if and when i change the exhaust i'll use the same method and have it sat under the garage door. it will give more space to move around, but i'd still be under cover. am tempted to build a frame over the front drive and perspex it. like a lean too. as it would give me even more working space.
  21. i paid £15,000 for mine which was an 06 with gt pack and 13500 miles. so not a bad price. definatly worth a look.
  22. Or bump it up onto a couple of planks of wood. Thats what most people do to raise it. I'm tempted to dig myself a pit in my garage, far easier i'd love a pit in my garage. one of my friends has one. but he also has a huge double garage. i only have a single garage, and don't really think there is the space for it. not enough room to move around the outsidfe. i am planning a work bench for the end of it though. going to have tool boards and clamps, everything with its own hook etc. just got to wait to buy the shed to move all the other stuff out the way so i can put it in.
  23. www.fuelly.com website allows you to log your MPG and compare against other cars etc, saw it on another forum and thought it was quite novel. am not that bothered about my economy, i never bought the car for that, but i am going to use it to trake my usage. is any one else on this?

+1 he's the kind of person you see on the road and just think "Pr1ck"
  25. if you've come from front wheel drive cars it will feel odd. i know when i swapped over to the mr2. the steering used to feel very light at speed. and was quite unnerving. but a proper FSB corrected that. (but the Zed already has one) because the wheels just have to steer now you've lost all the tourque feedback in the steering wheel, which is a good thing, as this hides some of the original feedback. you should have with a rear wheel drive a more accurate feel of the road. it may also be the power steering, but to be honest for me the feedback is good on these cars.
