  1. i don't enjoy the heavy weight fights as much as some of the lighter classes, prince nassem was quiet good to watch, and i really enjoy the boxing in the olympics as its far more technical, and points based. and alot more seems to happen. some of the mexican, cuban and south american boxers are very entertaining.
  2. i love my boxing, used to box years ago, don't mind the odd match on the telly, if i'm honest i've not watched any MMA so can only comment on the boxing. both sports are physically demanding, but just like football the money is spoiling the sport.
  3. both vicar and nun were higher than a teacher on the list i had i think working in media apparently has high premiums. journalists are high up as well
  4. according to that website i can save 8.00 a year by changing my job title to baptist minister. teaching seems t have fairly low risk, suprising as in rough areas i know teachers cars are prime student targets.
  5. they are about an 80k car new though
  6. i'm not disliking the auto at all, i love the jag j gate gear setup. suits the car very well. and the newer ones with the paddle shift make it even better. unless i have a designated track car, i cant; see me going back to manual for an everyday car. i no longer want to kill people in traffic jams, and i must admit it is helped by the fact that the cabin is such a nice place to be in.
  7. did he not think about actually holding on to something
  8. Dblock:- i'm guessing this is regarding an old post about Manual Vs Auto yes i still think i shift faster than an auto. car feels quicker than the zed, but then its supercharged and has 100 bhp more than the zed. i like the auto kick down, just plant the pedal and hold on for dear life. it is slower than i am on that, particular change,i can feel a hesitation between the pedal on the floor and the car dropping a cog. in that relation yes i would have been quicker, yet the jag supercharger makes up for that as it then eats tarmac. like for like driving, its difficult to say, if it were 2 cars identical 1 auto 1 manual and i could drive them back to back on the same track, i reckon i could go round faster in the manual than i could in the auto. this is with auto boxes like the jag and the zed. now if you put me in an auto with something like DSG or PDK in a porshe; and some flappy paddles. i'd say the auto would be quicker. so with regards to the original question i still stand by my initial comment that a manual zed with the right driver will be quicker than an auto. right back to the new jag, if i remember rightly the new jag has a flappy paddle gear box, and as much or as little control as you want. i think you'll really like it, and as soon as you get it go and get a decent exhaust
  9. plato is a good bet, he posts on Piston heads every so often and it can be quiet funny. custard thread is worth a read
  10. i think the newer version combats alot of those issues, i must admit what i'm looking for in a car is different to what i wanted in the zed, i much prefer my jag to the zed; but then i want more comfort, 2 more seats, and an auto box for my ever decreasing knee. there are mods for the older ones that can switch the weight of the steering to give back the feel, you can also retro fit paddle shifts. but it all comes down to what your looking for in a car, as for soul thats very much down to personal opinion, i think the old jag has bundles of soul. i'd rather the jag over a hot hatch. aimed at me or the last poster?
  11. it was to get peoples POV on the situation and the strikes, i know that there are people on this forum with a very good grasp on things, and knew i would learn alot by asking.

  13. go test drive one, yes mine is an older one, its 11 years old now, yes there are minor issues to fix on it but after 11 years all the kit still works, all the electrics work, only issues i'm having are just general wear and tear. the newer ones are far more GT focused than the OLD XK8's which were just big cruisers. i deliberatly went for the XKR as it turned the cruiser into a far more usable car with the CATS suspension bigger wheels, giant brembo's and supercharger. the new XK8 is far more agile, still heavy, but a very useable car. good engines and good rep, if the new ones are anything like moine, then they are uber comfortable on long drives, and a very plesant place to be.
  14. only example i have since i sold up 2 years ago; to be fair on mitz, its possibly more a RIK issue than a CS issue as its possible he sold them on through good faith from his supplier. my point is this forum is not condusive to anything other than positives. there is no accountability. yes the contact should be with the trader first, and i like the idea of it going though the mods first, but at the end of the day the info should go out to the club.if the issue was resolved then its no bad slur on the trader as they fixed the issue. but if there are repeat problems, then why should we as a forum continue to encourage/and supply business to them. my issue is i have been around here long enough and been to meets and spoken to alot of members in my time i hear. i hear of lots of issues with different traders etc, but no one ever says anything; you only ever hear the positives. no one ever speaks out because there are billions of posts about different traders about how brilliant they are at posting items, or that they serviced the car correctly, or that they supplied items that no one else has. and then the moderating team all jump in and say how they all have exemplar records. no one complains around here, then people get bad service and they keep quiet. i know of badly fitted kits, badly painted kits, items sold as new when they are 2nd hand items branded as manufactered items when they are actually knock offs. parts not supplied work carried out badly damage to cars jobs that take months instead of weeks these points aren;t aimed at one trader, they are aimed at several this thread may not be the best way of putting the issue across, but i'm high lighting an issue thats been going on fro ages. and because of the way the forum is setup, no one feels comfortable coming forward and saying anything. i run my business on word of mouth; i try to do my best and if i make a mistake i fix it. i don;t need a thread from people saying that i'm doing my job properly. i know i am thats why customers come back.
  15. Mines a little outdated, but i thought it best if i started this thread, that i suppose i should post in it to show others that its possible. this was 2 years ago, and i'm not 100% sure where the responsibility lie's but i will post the facts and only that. Trader: CS (possibly a Prestige item sold on via CS) Item bought: Nismo N1 Side skirts Issue: i originally had some Nismo side skirts but they were badly damaged and had water ingress, my bodyshop said if i could source new ones that were a perfect fit it would save me money over fixing the originals. I contacted CS for a set; i asked specifically if they were a perfect fit and was informed that they were and that they were good quality. i gave them to my bodyshop who sprayed them on good faith that they were a perfect fit ( i told them that the supplier had said they were a perfect fit) and then tried to fit them. Yes they fitted on, but the fit was very bad and the amount of time and labour required to make them fit cost me an extra 400.00 in bodyshop fee's. basically they were not as described. Hind sight: i should have test fitted them first before painting at least that way i could have sent them back. but once painted it was too late.
  16. We seem to have tons of these "trader appreciation" threads; and to be honest for quiet menial things, and often for thanking a trader for something that should be normal practice; like posting it on time; etc. what frustrates me on this forum is that i know of lots of people that have had issues, and no one posts up about it. if people were better informed they could choose more accuratly where they spend their money. so if you've had bad service post it here, so others know and can learn from it. one rule: information must be based on fact only and not use this area for hurling abuse. and if a trader solved the issue post the issue and what they did to resolve it. that way at least people know if a trader is willing to fix there mistakes or if they leave you hanging in the wind.
  17. i'm an engineer, and i'm married, but i do like to leave her at home alot
  18. autotrader is crap for selling cars, out of 4 cars placed on autotrader over the last 10 years, only 1 sold. pistonheads is ok, but lots of dreamers and no one actually stepping up with the last car (only time i've used it) ebay, used for the first time with my S2000, sold for the asking price, my wife sold her car through autotrader, i would say if you have a normal car, autotrader is ok, if you have a performance car, piston heads and ebay.
