  1. Nah they are the same but a lot less fiddly to fix it to the car instead of the console thats all, and handy being able to remove the centre console without removing the stereo and all the associated wiring especially when you start running multiple things off the headunit as the wiring is a real squeeze to get it all in.
  2. try swapping the metal arms across, if you have them on the wrong way round that stops it. also as said above, fit to the car, not the facia.
  3. your paint has eggshelled, basically the plastic has flexed and the paint hasn't hence all the hair line cracks in the paint. plus the damage you already have with the scratch; if you took it to a bodyshop they would respray the whole bumper, and thats anywhere between £200- £500 depending on where in the country you are and what the bodyshop charges. smart repair might be able to fix it, you'd be looking at about £90 for that. but the repair is only as good as the person doing it, basically a franchise like chips away, some technicians are brilliant, top notch work, couldn't fault it, others not so good. so in this case don't go by company name, but by actual technicians instead. thats just a rule of thumb. you'll often find good local ones as well. ring around and get some quotes, most of the mobile ones will come to you so easier than popping out every where
  4. depends on the trader ... i know lee, he is a top bloke, but when it comes to parts some times speed is not his strong point, but on all the occasions i've dealt with him money hasn't exchanged hands until the parts have been with me. i get the feeling this one slipped under the radar by accident.
  5. caught part of a news article tonight that was refering to som eo f those in front of the judges today for rioting and looting; most were between 18 and 25. one was a graphic designer, and another a uni student think they also mentioned another professional as well. so not just scum, but some educated scum, or opportunists at that.
  6. good to see you back
  7. the rev up versions have known oil consumption issues, something the earlier and later vehicles very rarely suffered from
  8. Beat me to it. I have it posted up on Facebook too. A lot of people coming back to me saying due to the heavy demand the server keeps going down! Good, it means people are rushing to sign it. these new e - petitions need to get over 100,000 votes, and then they have to be raised in parliament to be discussed you have 12 months in which to reach that figure, if you don't then the petition fails before really going. it was nearly 20,000 when i signed it, and if its getting bogged out then hopefully it will be a quick number gain to 100,000
  9. which now makes it an over priced 296bhp version
  10. as far as i could tell from the small pic that there was no bonnet bulge on the black one which would mean it can't be an HR
  11. some of you might find this of interest, its an E-petition to the government that all Convicted London rioters should loose all benefits. http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/7337
  12. the standards are still the same, and most kids meet them to a point, but there are some how deliberately push the boundaries, and to be honest we are limited in what we can do, we spend along time collecting evidence of it, once we have enough we go for a managed move, or expulsion. but if there isn't enough evidence the parents can over turn it and back they come. don't forget though this is 30 odd kids out of the 2000 i teach, and the majority are wonderful. and a pleasure to teach, others have major issues either due to abuse or neglect and again some of those although challenging are still great kids (even if they don't know it yet) but there is a small and growing core of rotten kids, that in some respects are so far gone there isn't alot you can do with them. this is basically my line of defense using school policy. detention (lunch or break or both) - for minor issues, behaviour missing home work etc (rotten kids don't turn up) after school detention - for more serious issues or repeat offenses (rotten kids don't turn up) faculty isolation - continuous poor behaviour in class kids are moved in to the head of departments classroom (rotten kids walk off) S2, S4 (used for minor and serious) - senior detentions held by senior leadership team; head etc (rotten kids don't turn up) school isolation - serious issues, basically in a cubicle in a room to work by them selves, work is supplied by teachers (rotten kids walk off) home isolation - sent home for a pre determined time, (rotten kids happy free time off) now in some circumstances we use managed moves putting them for a short term in other schools, often has the effect of putting them at the bottom of the food chain. doesn't last long as bad kids tend to swarm together like flies to a turd. in other cases we refer kids to PRU's (pupil referal units) i used to work in one, kids with major issues are helped here, taught how to communicate and control anger etc, and also kept in an environment where they cant harm others etc. but funding is tight kids sometimes go but not for long before they are sent back to normal school. basically after all that its down to me to think on my feet and how i talk and deal with the kids. as you can probably see most of deterrents work for normal kids who have respect and good parents, they probably only ever go as far as the detention route. but for the ones that don't care, there is bog all to stop them. if they skip to much school the EWO get involved and fine the parents, but the kids don't care.
  13. 14.45 posts per day, so over a 30 day month i average 433.5 posts a month i did some maths the other month, apparently i am responsible for nearly 2% of all forum posts and that the 20 highest posters are responsible for over 30% of the forum posting, think it might even be closer to 50% but would need to go back and re do the maths. and although this forum has a large number base only a small % actually post in comparison to how many actually sign up. on a day to day basis, there is only usually about 40-50 people posting. interesting reading i though
  14. this is the same kid who after asking 3 times for him to put his IPOD away i went to confiscate it, he ran off, i found him again about 15 minutes later, went to confiscate said item, when he turned round and said "if you touch me i'll do you for being a pedo" and thats what i have to deal with. i think i said something along the lines of your mum must be really proud of you. reported it to the head, this is also the same kid that then went home and wrote about me on facebook, apparently i'm a d1ck, but maybe its because i don't put up with his crap; who knows, i only found out because other kids had told me, they had all given him a load of stick about it because they knew he was wrong, had to report that to the head as well. punishment issued; suspension for 2 days, and yes thats just 1 of about 30 in my school like that, now most of the time i have a pretty good working relationship with these kinds of kids, but this one in particular, just does my head in. and he's 14. there are a group of 6 kids who are 12 that run off from teachers, done it so many times we called the police to have them removed from the property, and they ran off from the police laughing. and thats at 12. i should also like to point out we are one of the top comprehensives in the UK. so put that in to contrast with some of the rough inner city schools and you start to build a pcture of some of the kids in the system now.
  15. +1 I can barely look other nationalities in the face when they here where I'm from. Don't get me wrong every country has its problems but this is my country and I'm embarrassed about it. Literally every aspect of our society and culture makes my skin crawl. If I have to listen to one more 15 year old gangstaaaaa talking like they're some sort of Jamaican yardie I think I'm going to go mad. welcome to my world, and i work in bloody woodbridge, so its not really the centre of UK gangsta culture its the imagethey feel they have to give off in order to earn what they think is respect, and to be feared. i have on ein my form group which i have renamed as my Ghetto Smurf, as he's only just over 4 feet high. he turns up in his tracky bottoms, but they sit half way down his arse. he wears his hoody, uses the term innit alot and swears at everything. and thats just one of about 30 in my school. and what makes it worse is as they get older they breed like rabbits, the intellectual community is being out breed. think about the film idiocracy, and if you haven't seen it i suggest you do.
  16. oh well, at least my life can be summed up in text now
  17. The 300 is actually a 296 bhp engine stick all 3 stock cars on a drag strip and they'll all cross the line at pretty much the same time. the early DE engines had more torque, the later engines had more BHP but were heavier. swings and round abouts, at the end of the day, buy the best condition car for the money you have, i'd rather buy a pristine DE engine than a scrappy HR.
  18. taken from that clip above, bunch of tools its the so called "rich" that are already paying for them, ever heard the term don't bite the arm that feeds you. these guys might be signing over there lunch tickets on this one. and i hope so. I'd like to see how long they last with a real job and no free handouts.
  19. thats alright i never agreed with many of the decisions you made as a mod
  20. gliptone not expensive, i go tthe cleaner and conditioner for £12 on ebay
  21. meguairs do something called plastx which is designed for plastics, i used it on the honda lights and it brought them up a treat. also if you have a DA polisher use it with that, should fix the problem.
  22. years ago it used to be perfectly acceptable for a copper to clip a kid round the head and then leave it at that for minor scuffles etc, same with teachers, being allowed to use similiar things to remind the kids who was in charge. also parents used to smack kids. i was smacked it didn't harm me. key point though is the difference between a smack and beating the crap out of your kids. this problem has been build for a couple of decades now, and its a problem made by the politcally over correct, and the H&S bubble wrap brigade. i see it at work, and my mates who are coppers see it at work, kids increasing believe and see themselves as untouchable. we have been creating our own lord of the flies syndrome.
  23. its not 13 bhp though, as the 313 is actually 309 bhp and the 300 is actually 298 bhp, and the older one is 276 bhp.
  24. question is are you willing to pay £1000 more for a 313 over a 300. cars only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
  25. if its moisture in ternally, then pop the bonnet on a warm day, turn the wheel in, get at the back of the head light behind the liner, and pop the cover off. and see if it evaporates.
