ddcboyle's d.i.y vinyl : update 10th sept
rtbiscuit replied to ddcboyle's topic in Member Build Projects
if you don't mind a trip to suffolk i have a good shop that i use -
nice seam welding , i;d leave the roof gutter on, makes a difference when the car is wet and you sit in with the window down it all gushes into the car
-
if you get the rust under control and the engine is serviced regularly you won;t have too many issues. like you say very little to go wrong on them. also it might be worth looking at some of the conversion kits, you can bring the brakes up to modern standards by converting from drum to disc, makes the car alot safer. think there are also some suspension strut upgrades as well. underside and boot area need a good rust check and or clean and seal. am really impressed with how nice that looks. i think the soft tops are nicer.

buy a copy, get me to carbon dip it for you, then get your body shop to mask that bit up and paint the rest.

got one already wrapped and ready to send out, but the plan was to strip it and carbon dip it. as i have another customer interested in that. as well. how much would it cost for an exchange cover hydro dipped in carbon? i don't know yet i haven't done it; hoping to make a start on it this weekend, will post up a thread as soon as its sorted.

UVworldwide in the past traded on here, but due to issues of poor workmanship and the owner Rik being a lying C**T, he was banned from here. don't trust him, don;t trust the quality of his workmanship, don;t trust his business. i don;t care if he's turned over a new leaf and is employing the reincarnated mother teresa on the customer service desk. as far as i'm concerned he's black listed in the zed community.

ekona said what i would have said, also facotr in that the new paint spray you have has probably more than doubled the original nissan paint thickness. and should be better wearing than nissan. nissan paint is notoriuosly soft, it chips easily and you can even to some extent sqidge it back in place for a repair.(not if its really deep.) your new paint should be better wearing than the nissan, and more resiliant to chipping.

ddcboyle's d.i.y vinyl : update 10th sept
rtbiscuit replied to ddcboyle's topic in Member Build Projects
just had a look and they only go up 18" on the rota boost. had an ebay browse and there are som e cheap 19" wheels, but i wouldn't put them on a car -
i'm only 5'9" but the shaved head, beard, and the fact i look like shrek generally lead to very few arguments. 6ft 4 with big gangly arms and legs means a 6minute yoga class is in session trying to get in and out a zed. (Or park alone and get out like a lady avoiding upskirt) are you stretch armstrong?

Rota Boost think they do them in a 19" not sure on price, but as rota are a copy of gram lights (the boosts are, they copy lots of others as well), they tend to be alot cheaper -
I went V2 to be different

What Does Your Car Colour Say About You?
rtbiscuit replied to Ewan27's topic in Off Topic Discussion
i defied logic with my last purchase, i bough tit because of the colour and the extras it had, as pretty much every other one i looked at didn't have it all. what i also got was lots of stuff to fix but as project cars go i'm very happy -
Nismo N1 Project. (Finally Fitted)
rtbiscuit replied to rothers2901's topic in Member Build Projects
nice copy, looks pretty good, and the fit is spot on. -
need to check the hand book, but it might even be possible to laser cut it. just depends if it gives off nasty gases. i have a carbon keyring which has been laser cut so me thinks its possible. should leave you with ni on perfect cuts.
