  1. Hi all, Unfortunately the time has come to sell my 350z. In the 4+ years I’ve owned the car, it’s been a great ownership experience and always put a smile on my face, but time to get something more sensible. Apologies in advance for the long read, but I’m trying to cover everything so that people have all the info in the post! It’s a 2006 rev up (facelift) manual GT roadster (soft-top) and it’s done 84k miles. It has MOT until 16th Feb 2024. I’ve owned it since September 2018, and it had 51k miles when I bought it (I bought it from a forum member on here). I’m located in Nottingham. It’s a GT with all the usual additions, from memory these are: - electric and heated seats - electric folding mirrors - brembo brake calipers - rays lightweight forged alloys - LSD - Bose sound system Being a revup and 2006, it sits in the higher tax band. As an overall part of cost of ownership (especially compared to fuel), I’ve never found this a big deal personally. It gets around 30mpg if using cruise control at 70mph on the motorway. If driving more enthusiastically on country roads and during town driving, this drops to the low 20s and teens depending on how you drive. The facelift rev up gets the following vs pre facelift: - upgraded front headlights (xenon’s) - upgraded rear taillights (led’s) - slightly more power (296bhp), and a slightly higher redline - updated front bumper The car has full service history, and within my ownership all work has been done at either Abbey, Horsham developments or Tarmac Sportz. The car has been run exclusively on premium higher octane fuel during my ownership (Tesco momentum 99 or vpower), with loads of receipts to prove this! The car has a cobra sport y pipe, mid pipe, and backbox (which sounds great). The car still has oem cats, so no issues with MOT. Outside of this, work during my ownership is as follows: - spark plugs replaced October/November 2018 (not long after getting the car - just in case they hadn’t been done previously) - clutch slave cylinder replaced summer 2019 by Horsham - bilstein b6 shocks and tein s tech springs fitted in July 2020 at Tarmac Sportz - all 6 coil packs changed along with new spark plugs early 2021. Coil packs are oem ones purchased from Horsham Developments - clutch and DMF both changed for oem replacements at Tarmac Sportz in April 2022 The only bad point is the roof has a slight rip in the corner next to the driver door(can be seen in the pictures). This has been there since I bought the car, and hasn’t bothered me at all (the car has always been parked outdoors during my ownership). The roof opens and closes using the buttons as expected. The original registration plates have now been put back on the car, the registration is OE06 SEO (if anyone wants to check mot history, etc). Price drop to £6,295 ONO!
  2. Welcome! Car looks nice, and sounds like it's already got some nice mods mate
  3. Thanks mate, will definitely be coming to you to buy these when I plan to do this job!
  4. Thanks for the reply. Yeah I've read about the cam cover issue, will probably have to replace them in the next year or so when I have some spare cash as it's not too bad at the moment (and I read that it's not an urgent thing to do unless the spark plug Wells are filling up, which mine are not). I always use tesco momentum 99 Ron so all good on the fuel front. Any idea why it would be running lean? Those spark plugs did seem fairly loose/a bit too easy to take out so I guess it could be that? Glad to hear I shouldn't be worried!
  5. I changed the spark plugs and coil packs on my car today, the car is running much smoother and this has removed flat spots. One of the coil packs failed just before Xmas so have swapped them all for new ones and thought may as well change the spark plugs whilst I was at it (they were last changed approx 2 years/18k miles ago). I've attached a pic of the old spark plugs. The 3 on the right side (passenger side) are a bit oily and the tips have a white deposit (the 3 on the driver side were fine). Also worth noting that it was cylinder 5 misfiring which is the spark plug on the top left (one that is not oily). Should I be worried at all?
  6. I'm not sure of the answer to your question, but mines had this when I bought it (the previous owner didn't even notice it, so who knows how long it actually had the issue for). I had it fixed aafter around 6ish months of owning the car I think. It's been completely fine since then, so doesn't seem like it did any long term damage.
  7. Ridiculously high priced for what it is, much better alternatives at that price point. As someone else said, 370z nismo's are cheaper!
  8. Welcome, car looks really nice mate I own a roadster too, although a 350z - love being able to put the roof down in summer!
  9. The only time I had this (the lights would come on every journey and then would go off every time I switched the car off and would come on again once I started driving), it was an issue with the throttle position/accelerator pedals. I did have a loss of power too though. I did the various resets using a guide on here and YouTube (you have to do some of these with the engine up to temp) and it's been fine ever since.
  10. Good point, completely forgot about pushchair - you can tell I don't have kids yet!
  11. Porsche 911 996 carrera 4s?
  12. Update on this. Just got my car back from the repair place. The bumper fitment is 100% better. Whilst it's probably not factory perfect, it's certainly much better and good enough (aka isn't noticeable/doesn't annoy me when I look at the car). Having had a quick look in the sun, the paintwork on the bonnet and wing are now free of flat spots from what I can see. The bumper has a couple of light flat spots near the bottom of the bumper but these aren't noticeable and can only be seen if you start looking for them. I'm planning to polish my car in the next couple of months so not too bothered about the couple of unnoticeable flat spots left as I can probably polish them out. Certainly glad I sent it back and has definitely made a difference to the quality of the job/was definitely worthwhile. Whilst it isn't perfect, I'm fairly happy with the result, and definitely happy I got them to do some remedial repairs
  13. The car was just picked up now. The guy picking it up was really friendly and agreed that it shouldn't have gone out like this. He confirmed they will address the bumper fitment issue and go over all the paint work they have done and polish any flat spots. I'm not sure he knew what I meant by holograms, but I guess many people wouldn't. If it comes back with everything else sorted and only holograms remaining, I'll be happy. I'll attempt addressing the holograms myself as was planning to polish the paintwork to try and get rid of any small swirl marks at some point anyway. Fingers crossed that it's all sorted!
  14. Thanks for all the replies. I've alreeady spoken to the bodyshop and they're picking the car up on Tuesday, it all seemed civil on the phone. I will definitely be pointing out the areas I have noticed so they know exactly what the issues are. I'm hoping it won't have to get to a 3rd time, or devolve into a battle to try and get it up to standard so crossing my fingers for now. I did originally enquire about taking it to somewhere of my choice, but the insurance made the point that if you take it to a place of your choice and they don't do a good job, it then becomes your problem to sort out with the bodyshop (insurance won't get involved). I'll have to see how it goes but hopefully it will all be rectified without having to escalate things. From my perspective, if the issues are rectified then it will be a positive experience. No-ones perfect, and everyone/every company makes mistakes - it's how they deal with them and put things right that matters.
  15. Thanks - just wanted to check what others think is reasonable, to make sure I'm not asking for something ridiculous!
  16. Hi all, I had a car accident in March (the 3rd party went through a red light at a crossroad). Following the accident (due to covid), I only had my car repaired recently. It required a new bumper + paint, a small bit of the bonnet painting and a bit of the wing painting to colour match. I've received my car back and it looks like their are some parts on the wing that were sanded down but haven't been polished properly, some orange peel and holograms on the front bumper that was brand new and painted by them, and the bumper doesn't align properly with the wings (it's slightly "in" compared with the wings). There's also what I can only describe as a slight bend? on part of the bumper that fixes to the front slam panel underneath the bonnet. I have contacted the repairer to give them the opportunity to fix the above issues. I guess my question is, what sort of quality of repair should I expect from the insurance? Obviously alignment of the bumper, random bits that haven't been polished and look flat and orange peel are obvious and need to be fixed by anyone's standards really. Is expecting the front bumper to be free of holograms reasonable?
