  1. Have you tried a throttle position sensor reset? There are some guides on the forum of how you can do the various resets. I had the same code after cleaning my throttle body and the various resets fixed it. Although mines was starting fine and randomly would go into limp mode, so a slightly different issue. It could be that your throttle body is broken or damaged in some way? Have you seen the throttle body actually open when pressing the accelerator?
  2. Thanks for the heads up, will avoid putting it down in cold weather,
  3. @Andre D You must be one of the lucky ones! I'll have to wait until it's a bit warmer I guess
  4. Thanks @NEroadster I've actually bought a patch and some Stormsure seal which I'm going to use as a temporary fix until I save enough to get a Mohair one, as I can only imagine it will start to rip in other places soon enough due to its age
  5. Thanks @Andy_Muxlow That ties in with my experience so I can stop worrying
  6. In the ad it says reg is Sb09zen I'd be tempted to do a hpi check before even considering going to see it. This will also tell you if the reg has been changed recently which will confirm/deny if it's the same car! I used experian autocheck when looking for my car, from memory it's 5 checks for £20 and that includes some kind of guarantee too!
  7. Looking at the sellers feedback, it looks a bit strange. It's all positive and fairly recent but whenever clicking on any of the pages it leads to a missing page, and to me looks like all of the sellers that the user has bought from have been deactivated. Looks like a scam in all honesty based on that alone.
  8. Thanks @coldel I've read this somewhere too tbh, just wanted confirmation
  9. Thanks @ZMANALEX I assume it can't be repaired/it's not worthwhile repairing? How long do Mohair roofs usually last?
  10. Hi all, My roof has a fairly small rip next where the roof meets the body and passenger window (behind the passenger seat). It's gradually getting worse so I probably need to sort it before I end up with a big hole! Having a search this seems a fairly common place to rip, but I need to decide what to do in terms of getting a repair or replacing the roof. What do people recommend? I'm based in London if anyone knows any roof specialists they can recommend and an approximate cost if they've had the same issue? Also, my roof hasn't been going all the way down recently, which I assume is due to the cold weather, are other peoples roofs the same? Thanks in advance!
  11. @Payco Thanks for the heads up, I will keep an eye out! Just a bit keen to meet some fellow members
  12. Oh no, what's wrong with it?!
  13. @vicktor_the_ predictor March sounds good too! How does 9th/10th or 23rd/24th sound?
  14. Thanks @coldel that sounds like a good suggestion. Would others be up for meeting at the Rose of York for breakfast/brunch on 10th or 17th Feb?
  15. @Umster @hmale4yu @vicktor_the_ predictor Thanks for the replies all. I was thinking maybe next weekend (the 9th or 10th of Feb), or the weekend after if that's better? Obviously as long as it doesn't snow! My Z just failed its MOT so just need to get it sorted then I can confirm, but I assume that weekend should be fine. Maybe somewhere in Richmond if that location suits? But definitely open to other location suggestions (I'm originally from Leicester so don't know London and the surrounding areas that well).
  16. @Konflict89 Sounds good, Croydon is pretty close. I'll try to sort something out over the next couple of weeks (and hopefully find a day when the weather is decent!).
  17. This really made me laugh/brightened my afternoon The fastest car I've ever had was a 1.4 rover 200, mainly because it was my first car and I drove like a complete t**t
  18. Thanks for the replies @Andy_Muxlow and @coldel I would be up for meeting even in the cold The pub sounds like a good shout, I'll keep my eye out for the next one!
  19. You've obviously never been on pistonheads (kidding). I would also think those same 96.5% of people would probably be faster in a fwd turbo diesel golf (gtd for example) than in a 350z/370z. I wasn't even going to reply to this thread until the sob story comment in all honesty. As long as you go in with your eyes wide open and manage your expectations, you'll be fine. It just doesn't make sense to me personally to get a performance car and then stick Falkens on it. I also wanted to give my personal experience from following forum recommendations of "you won't be able to tell the difference on the road", I could certainly tell the difference (and it was a big difference to me, although on a different car which is arguably very sensitive to tyres). Plus as others have pointed out, generally michelins tend to last a lot longer than the competition so it's a false economy anyway. Either way, your car your choice
  20. Sorry but this story is ridiculous. It's like you're trying to go for sympathy when you have a 370z which is a much nicer car than most people can afford. Having come from very humble beginnings/upbringing, this statement really annoys me. Yes on this forum we all love cars, and that's why we choose to spend our time and money on them. But live within your means and budget realistically. The fact is that you've asked for advice, why would you ask when you have no other options available. Also, if I went to see a 370z in the future and it had falkens on I would question how well its been looked after. Having had similar tyres to the falkens (kumhos) after following forum advice on an old BMW diesel (certainly not as performance orientated as a 350z), I would not repeat this. The difference compared to the michelin I had both before and after was night and day. I lost confidence in the cars ability and couldn't wait to switch back to performance tyres. You have a performance car and you're asking on a forum for that car which tyres other members would recommend. I'm not sure what you were really expecting the answer to be. Long story short, the falkens are definitely not going to kill you (unless you drive outside of their/your ability). However, they will definitely not be as enjoyable as a performance tyre (if you are a 'driver').
  21. Hi all, I live in South London (Wandsworth - close to Central). Any other members in or around London? Maybe we could organise a meet?
  22. I've not had this issue but I'd recommend checking the intake pipes, airbox, and the connections up to the throttle body to make sure there are no leaks as a first port of call? Hopefully someone else has more things to check. Do you happen to have an induction kit?
  23. Aren't Autos quite a bit slower than manuals? (Genuine question.)
  24. Welcome to Zed ownership! Car looks good, shame about the weather!
