Nah, speedo still works even with both of the grey connectors and that black cylinder unplugged. To disable the speedo you have to unplug the cluster or the white control box in the centre console. I think it might be different on the pre-facelift, original DE, but you seem to have the facelift, Rev Up (which is needed for the extra features, otherwise you're stuck pulling / switching fuses). I think remaps are about £400 including dyno time, and each additional feature (flat foot shifting, burnout, launch control) is an extra £30.

Got curious and unplugged the dark grey connector as well as the light grey - made no noticeable additional difference. However, if you leave both those grey connectors in and instead unplug the black cylinder (highlighted in blue below) that I mentioned before, you still get the ABS / ESP and skid lights, implying they are all disabled, but you don't get the parking brake dash light ((!)) permanently on. Benefits: - That black cylinder is much easier to access and unplug / replug and has less wires, so choosing a wire to switch is easier - The parking brake dash light is also used to indicate low brake fluid, so you will keep that warning should you get low for whatever reason - No red lights on the dash

Just remembered that this is exactly what the ARC burnout licence (optional extra as part of the remap) does.

There's always the option of line lock if you are planning regular burnouts.

10A IIRC. Did you try unplug the dark grey connector next the the ABS module or just go with the light grey or black cylinder one? Curious what happens, but they are right faff to unplug.

Think it's the one in the footwell labelled brake.

Burnouts are a different matter I believe. Even with all driver aids disabled, the ECU cuts power if it detects simultaneous brake and throttle unless you pull the brake light fuse. Can't remember if there was a workaround without losing brake lights or whether it can be mapped out.

Huh, what year is your car? You appear to have facelift wiring, facelift bumper, but pre-facelift headlights. It's easier on the original DE, cos there's only 1 connector there. As for which connector, I've never touched that block of 3, but unplugging the light grey connector in the first pic brings up the ABS, VDC and slip lights on the dash. Haven't tried the darker grey connector next to it, but it might work, try and see what happens - I just guessed and pulled one, but that doesn't mean it's the right one. Alternatively, unplugging the cylindrical black connector from the big metal ABS block itself also seems to work.

Pulling the black connector out of the ABS module itself seemed to work for me too, but that was on an 07.

Not sure on the difference between years, but there's a connector on the ABS module (near brake fluid res) that you can unplug to disable all stability aids. Install an inline switch into one of those wires and it should sort you out.

Fitment will be your only real issue, especially around the headlights, most (N3) seem alright though with a little work. Only other thing to watch out for with some other aftermarket bumpers is fouling on the crash bar. My bumper (AMS GT) doesn't fit without trimming one or the other.

Ooh, Crown Carbon Crafting style overfenders. Prefer these over RB / VS as they complement the curves of the Z to give a natural widebody rather than protruding from nowhere. Could do with some front overfenders to match though and some proper wheels not 50mm spacers

And that's why I avoid motorways. Long, boring straights, where even 120 feels slow and they're littered with cameras / police.

As far as I'm concerned, that question is asking how long you've held a Full UK-manual licence, not a specific photocard, and regardless of whether the time was consecutive. The only thing up for interpretation would be whether the time you were banned counts - i.e. have you had your licence for 3 years and 2 months or 3 years and 6 months.

Doesn't matter what date is on your licence, that's not the question. You've had a full licence for 3 years and 2 months. They don't ask when your licence was issued. Any time you lose or renew it (renewal being compulsory every 10 years), the time you've held it resets to 0 according to the date on the front, so that would be a pointless question. Best thing to do if you're worried about it is ask your / an insurer directly. Or @DAN@ADRIAN FLUX should be able to confirm.

The answer to the insurance question will be how long you have held a licence type (e.g. Full UK Manual) for.

Conversely, you'd probably see a drop in mpg.

Mate's Z does this. Windows go up when you close door if engine is off.

350 is actually on the cheaper end of insurance for some reason (£2k under 20 and sub £1k over 20 are not uncommon quotes. but it massively depends on area). As for black box insurance, it depends on the provider, but let's just say that they are usually nothing to be scared of: -Drive like an angel and get a bronze score because you drove during peak hours or for a long duration -Do a bunch of 0-100-0 runs, tickle the top speed, and get a gold score due to performing well in other criteria
