  1. Those HFCs I sold you were good, in terms of build quality they were better than some others IMO, I've heard many Berks HFCs can fail cause the metallic core can perish, but that may be because they're a lot more common. Additionally they the FI HFC is 300 cell I believe, 200 should still pass emissions but not very easily and you'd need to get them heated up right before the test. If your mechanic is a friend or specialist then fine, but otherwise your typical MOT place may not be willing to entertain this idea, and without being heated up, a 200 cell might fail marginally. aside from this, unresonated HFC should all sound similar really unless they have a mini Helmholtz resonator on them too, and depending on the length of the core. But yeah, any HFC will open the sound up really nicely. With the FI cat back and HFC on it did sound good although a bit louder than I wanted, partly because there was a leak on a gasket which I didn't know about. You can see now what I meant about the 370z market being very small and slow. it's not every week or even every month that a good HFC or CBE comes up for sale, even on the Facebook groups. Like my exhaust is up now, but after this is sold how long until another CBE appears? It could be a week, or it could be 2-3 months or more. And it may or may not be one you're looking for ! I still love still think I'd buy a motordyne shockwave knowing full well that I'd have to take it off and resell it 😀 As for this exhaust, the value is in the exclusivity and the looks (if you think carbon fibre looks better than polished/chrome steeI). I don't know how many more of these exist it the UK. It can't be many. and some in the US would say it out performs the entry level cat backs, but who knows . If I get no interest in a few days then I'll happily reduce the price. It's worth what someone's willing to pay but I'm not that desperate for money to wait months for full asking price 😂q
  2. Videos the the FI exhaust and the ART Test pipe. http://www.fastintentions.com/product_info.php/products_id/14 Very short driveby Thanks for reading!
  3. This was taken off my 370Z and replaced with an Ark Grip... "Why!?" Do you ask....Well, genuinely because I wanted something a bit quieter and I was interested to see how the Helmholtz resonators changed the note. The Ark Grip is a bit quieter, however not by as much as I expected. I'd say say the FI is only about 10-20% louder, probably because the FI has much larger back boxes. Also note that I have a motordyne ART decat pipes which makes any system louder. So if you fitted this with standard cat it would be significantly quieter. Nonetheless, this exhaust is not extremely loud, it's much quieter than the likes of motordyne shockwave etc but nor is it one of the quietest systems. I will post some videos later. I couldn't tell you the Ark sounds better or worse, it's a different note, a bit more higher pitched and pops and bangs a bit less bit I'm satisfied that I will keep it. My favourite CBE is actually motordyne shockwave. I would love to try one but after a week of early morning cod starts but the neighbours would band together and conspire to burn my car into flames or possibly a car bomb to take me out with it. Still, if one came up I'd have to buy it just to try it 😀 If you have any questions regarding the potential loudness if your particular system then feel free to ask and I'm happy to give my opinion. Regardless, even with the decat personally I don't think is mega loud, subjectively speaking. Even with my ART decat there is virtually no drone at 80-90mph. Moving on, I would imagine this exhaust is very rare in the UK, it is also more expensive than entry level/budget systems, including the Ark Grip, which until a few months ago was £1,340 before the increase. I couldn't find any UK sites listing this but I did enquire and I was told you're looking at £1800+ to get one shipped over here. Remember that USD prices don't translate to the equivalent GBP value unfortunately. Perhaps even more depending on whether you wanted the polished finished mufflers or the +$300 optional extra carbon mufflers as this one has! They do look rather nice. Build quality seems to be of a higher standard too, not that the Ark welds are bad or anything but I know these systems are very popular in the states and hand built to order which accounts for the high quality and reputation of the product. The main benefit of this system is the reduced weight. I believe stillen and nearly all other aftermarket cat backs are heavier than stock, this offsets some of the bhp/tonne gains slightly obviously as you're gaining BHP but increasing lbs! if you're one of those OCD weight loss guys or perhaps you're a carbon freak then maybe this will be of interest. Fast Intentions website claims this is 16lbs lighter than stock. And it is generally around 20lbs lighter than other exhausts. See pic no. 5 below where it lists the Stillen catback ,which is no doubt a reputable company and quality product, yet according to the numbers it 24lbs heavier than this FI cat back, which a fair amount. A few FI have sold on here over the years but they were the standard option, not with the carbon Mufflers Performance wise, you can check what claims are made on the website but i would imagine its similar to others of the same diameter and design. I do think having less bends must be beneficial I.e stillen has proven gains but it has several 90 degree bends, as do the others with that design, but I won't pretend to be an expert; I don't know which is the best! The FI certainly looks like an unrestrictive free-flowing design. Either way you can expect 15-20bhp from this cat back, as with all the others. I think it's overall in very good condition, there is a noticeable scratch mark at the rear of one of the carbon silencers which I had attempted to capture but I don't think it's a scrape, more likely someone was careless when storing it. It is located at the back underside so its not possible to see it even looking under the car. I've tried to capture it in the photo, but aside from that the only marks are very minor not worth mentioning. It's stainless steel so it functions as good as new and the flanges are still solid. But generally, as per pics, I believe it is in pretty good condition including the carbon, flanges and polished steel resonators. I bought the car with 16k miles, it's now at 19k so it has done a maximum of 19k miles but that's assuming the previous owner fitted it straight after buying it from new. More than likely it has only been on the car for several thousand miles, at only 16k miles 2011 plate it must have been a weekender or unused for a while. I think the photos demonstrate it is in very good condition, especially the parts you can see. I have a box ready for this to be posted. I purchased my low mileage Ark Grip last week for £1000, which may have been a bit overpriced but the used Z market is so small that being patient and/or trying to haggle can result in missing an opportunity. Unlike on my previous Type R forums, you're lucky if one Exhaust is advertised per month on here. As such, owners can demand higher prices especially on stainless steel stuff that doesn't really deteriorate or function less as it becomes older. Being that my FI is more valuable than even the newer and more expensive Ark Grip, and far more exclusive, I'm going to list this exhaust at: £970 DELIVERED or £950 COLLECTED from BN23 5RP, Eastbourne. I cannot travel further out of town unfortunately. If I've overpriced it or it proves to be unpopular then in time I will adjust the price accordingly. Payment by PayPal or bank transfer if preferred - not cash. I don't remember the rules regarding PayPal gift, but I have a good reputation on many forums having bought & sold stuff more valuable than this! Nathan (nrenz123) would hopefully vouch for me, even though I did nearly get away with stealing his Vauxhall Corsa 😂 But if a buyer is uncomfortable paying via gift or it's against the rules then we can arrange a price with a regular PayPal payment for the buyers protection. No gaskets or bolts are provided unfortunately as I don't have them. For peace of mind I will offer my own personal guarantee that should any legitimate and reasonable problems occur with the exhaust within 1 month of the sale, I will accept a return of the and offer a full refund. I can offer that in confidence because I know it's in perfect working order, only removed last week, stainless steel and it will continue to function for many more years unless you're vin diesel or one his Once again: £970 DELIVERED or £950 COLLECTED from BN23 5RP, Eastbourne. These two photos of the single main scratch/mark that I feel I should mention, it genuinely won't be seen as it's far under the car. In the second photo it shows you how small it is. Any other marks are negligible. This one ain't my car but shows what it looks like.
  4. That is the next question I was going to ask was whether the Z1 fits without any issues, because it's half silicone. I always liked the look of my GT 370z but the kit has really transformed it into a more aggressive looking car, not to mention newer! Correct me if I'm wrong but they're still selling nismos on 17 plates yet mine is only 2011. The front was always rather bland, now only the alloys don't look right to me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Thanks for that. Initially I did want that spoiler but now I prefer the more subtle one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Yeah you're right and I was already aware of this having formerly owned a white Honda type R it was exactly the same. The front and rear bumper match well enough, I recall one of my factory panels didn't even match as well as Nathan's bofyshop painted one. I'm 100% satisfied with it, you will never notice it driving on the road and if it did bother me I'd have paid to blend some of it in, but I'm perfectly satisfied. The main thing is the car looks totally different now, all round with 2015 nismo bumpers on it. I'd consider a nismo spoiler or one of the dick bill? Or other ones depending on cost. There has got to be someone that makes good quality replicas? It's such a small and basic part. Otherwise I'll check EBay for breaking nismos. ðŸ‘🻠I know it's subjective but I absolutely want either 2015 nismo wheels, or for the time being flat black OEMs. My fast intentions cat back will be advertised soon. The main advantage of this catcback is that's with the carbon fibre silencers it's considerably lighter than Ark Grip, stillen etc. It's not too much louder than my ark grip. 7. I'll look into this shortly. Short clip of my Ark Grip with Motordyne ART pipes, it's definitely quieter and has tuned the exhaust note somehow. You can really hear it at higher rpm and outside the car. This was recorded on the iPhone and isn't a great demonstration but it does actually burble away very nicely now. If still prefer motordyne shock wave but neighbours would kill me ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Well I have continued on somewhat from Nathan's (nrenz123) project by buying and his freshly painted nismo kit. Top guy, who originally had a GT Edition like me. He fitted it for me and with his knowledge and experience saved me a fair bit of labour too. He would have advertised it but his project thread is fundamentally what inspired me to buy a 370z, once I realised a 2015 bumpers would bolt on, I figured this is going to modernise what is already a good looking car. Therefore I wasn't going to risk it being advertised and sold to someone else, I've been pming Nath ever since I signed up harassing him about it 😊 The match is very good in person, except the side skirts which doesn't both me much. In my experience, whites do tend to change colour a bit after a few months of sun in the summer, at least on my champ white Type R it did. The DRLs work great and transforms form the boring front end along with the red bits, the splitter is designed to create downforce too. My issue now is that I want my wheels powder coated flat black and spacers all round, I think this will finish it off as the rear end looks narrow. I might even consider lowering springs. I haven't yet looked into nismo spoiler as it's around £700 afaik and hardly different to OEM. Surely there must be some company producing good quality replicas? Then I want Z1 induction kit, if it fits on UK models, oil and steering wheel oil cooler. Oh and I've got an ARK Grip going on, on Wednesday replacing my Fast intentions carbon fibre catback that'll be for sale late next week. Although it's a cheaper exhaust I'm hoping it'll sound better, maybe even quieten it down a bit, although it's not really too loud for me at the moment. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Looks like a tough Job but I wouldnt like to make holes in there, I can see it's gonna be very effective when the car is at speed, Z1 intake has a velocity stack too ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I guess this is unlikely but does anyone have this for sale? I prefer this to stillen etc Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I'm hopefully buying an Ark soon once they guy can find a box. So last chance for anyone on here, I'll be putting my fast intentions carbon fibre muffler cat back for sale once it's taken off Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. If you have HFCs then simply buy one of the quieter cat back systems mentioned, and that alone would probably reduce the volume considerably if your current one is loud. The quietest systems are those with the largest size and number of silencers, it's that simple so look at various options, Google image search to compare and determine if it's loud or not. Although it is subjective. The majority of us, when decat or HFC, would find the louder cat backs far too much. But then some of these are fine alone IF you retain your stock cats. So HFC and the cat back are your two factors. Loud systems may have only one pair of silencers. Typically the quieter systems have at least 2 at the front known as resonators or resonated and then a pair of large back boxes, or a pairs of smaller boxes with two resonator chambers which reduce volume a bit too. So that's what you're looking. Gemini, stillen, ark Grip are reasonably quiet, even with HFC. Cobra etc, I can't remember which but I can tell by looking a system if it's loud or not. Part of your loud volume is due to the HFCs, replacing these with stock cats would also reduce the sound even more, but not necessary or worthwhile in my opinion as you'd lose a bunch of power. The invidia Gemini is good looking and good value. See pic of invidia Gemini and notice the smaller pair of resonators/silencers and the two much larger ones that form the back box where the tips come out the bumped Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Bump before I buy brand new Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Bump. I'm still here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. i thought of you aswell when i saw these Just my luck eh? So rare and stainless steel that they are still valued not much lower than the brand new item, I can understand why Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Where do they fit exactly, is the idea to link a cold air feed to induction or breakes? Would they fit with a nismo front bumper though ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Damn I had to buy these brand new a few months ago! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. The wing is controversial and looks OTT as with all cars IMO. The DC5 has a subtle one not much different to OEM but again unless they're a very quick dedicated track car, they don't do it for me. I do love the wheels and I'd like something similar on my 370Z Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Paul west is the mapper and they're considered the pioneers when it comes to Type R tuning, I've mapped my EP3 there and my supercharger FN2, even though they're 5 hours away. They must surely do ECUtek too? I've seen the traction control on the type Rs with ECUtek and it's fantastic. The only reason I'll be going with Horsham or abbey is because they're so much closer Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Sounds easy enough, I'm just not sure I know anyone capable of getting it the exact purple colour I want! And once done it's done Has anyone seen any low mile Ark Grips for sale? I'd much prefer to swap but if there's one for sale and I have a couple interested in buying mine right now, we could sort something out. So I do appreciate those keeping an eye out for me! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I'm not sure what the rules are but those comments are not going to help OP. I appreciate you're making people aware but his system may have been fine 😊 The best you can do to make the sale more appealing is to put up several videos so people know what it will sound like. Here's a video I recorded with FI catback and ART decat pipes, if you can replicate this then I'm sure someone will want it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Yeah it's definitely a good price, anyone looking for any aftermarket catback in general should jump on this. looks to be a quiet exhaust which is great for those with a decat, I've not heard about it but evidently it's one of the high quality and expensive systems. If I wasn't after the ARK GRip in particular, which is much much cheaper than this, I'd have bought it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I do like the invidia, it's great value for money and the tips are exactly what I want, rolled and burnt. But I want the ARK Grip purely because of the Helmholtz resonators. I wanna know what it sounds like Thank though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Well if I'm honest, I think that system is almost identical to my Fast Intentions in terms of the size of the silencers, only they're positioned differently. If I'm right then you're looking at the same volume as my setup, which is a bit loud for me but it's only cold starts than are really loud, any other time, even WOT it's not too bad. I may be wrong, in outwit judging in the number and size of the silencer boxes. The majority of other cat back systems are similar in this way only varying slightly in size or the back boxes being position either parallel like this, or in a V angle, like Ark Grip. The first set of silencers are barely any wider than the 2.5" pipe itself, the same with my FI. However the Ark Grip has both those sets plus an additional two Helmholtz resonators, the same ones that help to quiet down your ART pipes only larger which is why I'm aiming to trade for a hopefully quieter Ark Grip. Looks like you got a good deal nonetheless and it may be perfect for you to be honest. It's definitely not a loud cat back as cat backs go. But not the quietest either and if used with decats. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Bump ! Although I'd get most of my money back selling my FI, I've just bought a new place so really can't afford to buy a brand new one when I still need to buy a good shower, carpets etc. Still lemme know if anyone sees one for sale in good condition and low miles and I might be able to sort something 🙂 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
