Thank you both fir taking the time to respond, I do appreciate. Dave, although yours are clearly universal and cheap. I may give them and go if nobody else any sources. I think the car is not common enough so any proper tailored set might be several hundreds. But it's only for when the car goes in to the mechanic etc. Thanks again both 🙂ðŸ‘🻠Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi guys, I've had a look on EBay but all I can find is cheap universal shite. Could somebody point me in the direction of some decent quality tailored/fitted seat protective covers? Only drivers is essential but if they come in pairs that's ok. It's for when it's being taken to the mechanic etc I don't want the leather to be accidentally ripped or otherwise damaged. I think the Ark Grip would be perfect. They're £1,328 just for the last few days before Jan is over Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I'm looking for the best gains to be honest like an improvement over the stillen G3. The gains are proven on a dyno with a fan blowing into it, and when you're at high speed but I feel the metal alloy should be silicone (like Z1 intake is partially) and the filters position could be improved slightly. It's not a bad position in terms of being outside the engine bay but I can't imagine high pressure/dense air flow building behind the bumper. No doubt in the states high end builds design their own custom CAIs but I lack the skill, knowledge and resources and I won't pretend I know more than the R&D guys at stillen because I don't. If I have to settle for a stillen G3 then so be it but I'm gonna look into any alternatives or improvements that could be made to the design. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks ! So ive ordered the motordyne ART Decats, it should arrive next week. Not sure what to expect, but In theory it should be a bit quieter than the HFC I've already got (assuming it's the non resonated version) - it says this on their own page and a few members have confirmed this to be the case so l hopefully it'll be just a little bit quieter and the Helmholtz chamber will make it sound nicer somehow. depending on the result I can then decide on which cat back would optimum for me, volume and decibel rating is a big factor but I'd like motordyne shockwave rolled, burnt and adjustable tip. It also steps and progresses to 3" which would give good gains...But it's too bloody loud! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Also have you noticed any gains yet? Some of the reviews I read said they noticed an immediate and noticeable increase in power/torque, or are you still taking it easy with the engine? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I've not looked into any of those half systems but it seems like you want something not vastly louder than OEM. For me I want the nicest sound possible whilst still being reasonably quiet. So for me I feel the systems with the Helmholtz chambers sound the best, and there's only 2 or 3 options. Although even with your ART pipe alone, I think any cat bask you buy will sound pretty good. I just think straight through silencers alone don't do much other that turn the volume up or down so to speak. The Helmholtz resonators purposely change the sound and frequencies to make a more desirable sound and emphasising the character and note of the V6. But it's subjective of course, I've seen the video of a Nismo with only a backbox delete and think it sounds fantastic inside the cabin. The Nismos definitely sound better than regular Zs like mine and I think more effort is required to get them sounding good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I feel like my 370Z is like a step above the 350, and a step before a supercar, I.e GTR. although in reality it's not a true super car, but if you charge it to 500bhp+ then it's got supercar performance and other attributes Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks guys, ideally I'd have been patient and bought one 2nd hand. But the market is just too slow so I'm gonna order one brand new today. I'm really looking forward to the difference it makes, I know that once map tweak it will provide more power than my HFCs but I'm hoping that as it claims, it will be a bit quieter than my HFC which I'll sell afterwards. Also I want to hear the difference this Helmholtz resonator makes - what they are famous for. Once installed it will help me decide which cat back I would like in the future, for now I'll stay with my Fast intentions CBE which should be an interesting and rare combo as I don't think many have this cat back in the UK. Matt, from all my research I've done so far, I could have told you that adding the ART Pipes alone would still be "tame" as you put it. But like me, you can now decide which cat back to go for. I.e do you want it a bit louder than it is now, or much much louder! I watched countless videos although an easy way to see which cat backs are loud etc is to just look how many silencers they have and how large they are. The motordyne shockwave being a loud option as it doesn't have much silencing, the Ark Grip in comparison has 2 additional large mufflers so you'd expect it to be a fair bit quieter. You're welcome. I know the feeling, I feel similar about my 370Z 😀👠Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ah right ! They claim to be quieter than unresonated HFCs, would you agree with that ? Or have you not had them? I assume you're running stock CBE, in which case I would recommend keeping them. They are the best decats you can buy IMO and I believe decat/HFC frees up more performance than a cat back alone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Do let me know if you might sell the ART Pipes, otherwise I might order some tomorrow. I have a question; would the ART pipes turn on my EML? If so, can I disable it or trick it, or can I just safely ignore it for now? My car has been mapped at Abbey with a HFC and FI cat back so I'm wondering if that map auto disabled the sensor and that either way, the AFR should not be too far off? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Great photos! I bet that was a bit of a weapon. What did the numbers look like after fitting the supercharger? 340bhp and 230lbft. About the same BHP as my 370z is now yet it was 200kg lighter and shorter gearing so if was much quicker really. The Z is overall much better, but a stock 370 would have felt very slow indeed so I'm glad I bought mine remapped etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Wow, can I ask where you bought these? Or was it like done off the forum and in private? Because I've been looking for Motordyne ART pipes and shockwave or anything good ever since I bought my 370 but have yet to see anything at all so I'm going to sell my Fast intentions carbon muffler cat back and buy a cheaper but quieter ARK Grip. I'd have snapped those pipes up if I had seen them but I guess I'll have to buy them brand new. Lovely car anyway, would I be correct in saying the shockwave might be your car back choice? I've considered it myself but I think it would be too loud with ART decats. I expect your car sounds amazing as it is though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Ah ok. I didn't think there were rules on a swap page, I can't think which rule I broke, but I'll look for them in a min, presumably they're pinned at the top of the section somewhere Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Not really related but my old FN2 is featured in February Banzai mag, I never actually met the guys and all the content was taken from my rather good pistonheads sale ad. No regrets though 🙂 Really debating buying an Ark Grip and then selling my Fast intentions cat back which should be worth much more when brand new as it has the carbon mufflers option. It's very light, rare and expensive but when I add ART Decats I just feel it become too loud. For the same reason I'm kinda telling myself that the motordyne shockwave looks so much better and no doubt performs better than Ark Grip BUT with so few silencers I know it will be such a Loud combo. Still not entirely sure I wouldn't get one if it came up for sale. I also want a bloody Z1 motorsport intake which is gonna be reallly rare to find too 😕 There's few on here with Motordyne ART test pipes with either Motordyne shockwave or Ark Grip combo. But I'm watching loads of YouTube vids to try decide. Ark Grip is cheap enough that I could buy brand new tho, only until Feb when there's a price increase. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I went on a Eurotrip last summer, and this year I may very likely be doing the same. It included many valleys and mountain roads etc, id like to go this year in my Z but I've got mod plans I'd like to complete before mainly to get the car faster. For handling and cornering I don't push the car too hard - I can drive it up to my ability and slowly improve but otherwise I just enjoy cruising, looking and sounding good. Sorry to derail your thread, although I traveled with a 370z and 350z, my car was a Supercharged type R. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You can keep facepalming mate but I'm not disagreeing with anything you said, they're valid points albeit predictable and cliche, I just think the Z would be great if it had 370bhp out the factory and without exploiting the handling, cornering etc which I have no doubt is very fun and productive, I can appreciate extra power very easily in a straight line and driving through the gears. Plus it's great when you're down the pub for bragging rights or when a random fella asks how powerful it is. 😂 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Alright Ekona you're getting a bit carried away, all I said was OP would utilise another 20-30bhp which I think we all agree the Z is lacking. And OP already has the other driving aspects covered as we can all acknowledge. He's making the most of the car regardless and I just wondered how capable and fun the Z would be with some more power, or even 500bhp! I do enjoy reading his posts and I just wondered what his thoughts are on that. I've got the synchro mode on and I enjoy the car how and when I can. We can't be criticising others for not being pro racing drivers all the time and the other scenarios you described. I can still enjoy the car on the commute, coming off round abouts accelerating onto carriageways etc and my enjoyment is still valid even if I'm not the stig cruising ok mountain passes every day Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Apologies for the slight thread drift, but this is something I've never understood. If you spent your money on making yourself a better driver, then you'd be quicker in every single car you ever drive in the future. If you spend your money on going quicker in a straight line in your current car, then you're back to square one when you move on. Improving ourselves as drivers is the one on-going challenge that every single driver ever can do, regardless of budget. Even simple things like learning how how to position your car correctly at corners, or learning to heel & toe, these things will make just as much of a difference driving in town as they will on the open roads. You can be as good a driver as you want to be, and it's a transferable skill. Without doubt, if you spent £1000 on driver training you'd be quicker than if you spent £1000 on an exhaust and remap. Your point would be valid but I cannot treat public roads like a race track in regards to approaching corners, apex etc on my work commute! So in my case, I can legally and with relative safety put my foot down on a straight and feel that extra 20bhp from my remap. Improving my racing ability isn't so important in my case, unfortunately I'm not driving on OPs roads very often - I did one trip around Europe in my civic type R but even then I'd rather practice in controlled conditions where one mistake wouldn't write my car off 🙂 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

In your circumstances I absolutely agree. You're lucky to be part of all these mountain tours, however mine is a daily driver on A roads, commute etc and my skill as a driver will never match yours, nor will it need to. Because of this I think my money is better spent on more engine straight line performance and enjoying the sound of the exhaust etc - Your thread is fantastic though and I'm sure it's inspiring many. With your level of ability and the roads you're on I really think you'd be able to utilise another 20bhp to great effect, maybe tipping the balance on some of the rivals. I would love to read your experience and review if the car was boosted to 500bhp, now that would be interesting 🙂 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
