  1. Haha nah mate. I should reduce it to £12,500 if I really wanted to sell it but until I've test driven one and seen one in person I can't be sure! Had some low baller offers of £8,500, and 10k Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Oh yeah, one of the first and probably the best single mod ever had on a car ðŸ‘🻠Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. 350z definitely not for me. I'd prefer more refinement and the 370z looks better as you say. I even think the standard 370 looks a bit bland, but then my Mugen FN2 looks very sporty and aggressive. But the 370z is indeed a true sports car underneath. With black OEM alloys I feel it looks a bit better and with the 2016 nismo bumpers I think it looks fantastic. Yeah GMB it was a Teg M Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. My old EP3 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Oh yeah, great cars in their day! They can be made to look good and once you get them to 250bhp or so, well they're faster than the 350Z was at stock power! But of course they look their age now and so cheap that for a while now that they've accessible to even the lowest of lowest scum bags. Thankfully I live in a nice town and not a big city but you still find them on the Facebook groups and see their crap on my news feed ! Also they don't seem interested in my type R, the FN2. Possibly in part because the cheapest FN2s still sell for 4K or so and out of reach for most of em. I had an offer of £8,500 on pistonheads for my charged FN2 🙄 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Yup. I've had an EP3 for 6 years before the FN2 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. The chassis I dunno. My FN2 is known to be pretty tight. As standard they perform the same except the s2000 has better weight distribution I guess Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I did over 2000 miles across Europe this summer Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. A civic is a far better platform for a track car, especially if it has an LSD, the stock 2.0 can do 400bhp no problem with boost and can be made very light indeed. However, I'm not looking for a track car at all and yes the 370z would be a better cruiser/daily, well in terms of the engine usable power yes, obviously it's not as practical. I do think I'd enjoy a modded 370z more, although it may not be faster without FI. I think up to 360bhp is achievable according to what Horsham developments told me although that figure of 357 was with a decat. Has anyone made more than this? The also said that Zs generally don't make their claimed factory BHP sadly. However, with 350 and good low down torque it should feel just as fast. With that BHP does anyone have issues with traction when launching ? Boosted S2000s can be very quick when boosted ,stronger internals, RWD and light but come on, 370z looks and sounds better! 10. @*!# really? The images work on my phone and my PC 🤔 Not much point me advertising here yet methinks or maybe I will when I'm 100% on it. Thanks 🙂 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Now on pistonheads, are we allowed to post a link on here? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Guys that must surely be the old RS lol? The new type R does a lap in like 7:53 I think? The new type R will also destroy the new 370z nismo in a lap because the handing is far superior and it's lighter. it would only lose in a 0-60 race. FWD cars excel in races if they're already rolling. They're generally lighter and lose a lot less power through the drive chain. Much less than AWD and I believe a bit less than RWD. FWD is at a disadvantage when launching, but in the real world and on a race track it's unimportant. Ultimately I do prefer RWD, just because personally I'd like the ability to launch well on the street. I have no idea how to drift but I can see how that's fun as well. My Supercharged FN2 is 340bhp through the FWD and without limiting boost/torque there's not much more power I could actually use without the wheels spinning. It's on AD08s too. There are 400bhp turbo FN2s and they're very very fast, as they lose so little of that power through the drive chain and when rolling in 3rd/4th the acceleration would be difficult to match. A heavier AWD would need to approach 500bhp to rival that. However with that power, the first few gears can become useless. Even 3rd gear could become useless if you have over 400bhp without a very linear power/torque curve without enough traction if the wheels just spin up. Type Rs are known for being fun FWD cars as they're high revving, light , very engaging and handle well. You need to work the engine to get the most of it. These days I prefer low down usable torque and I can appreciate a Zed is fun and appealing in completely different ways. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Sorry to hear about your divorce 😠I got my FN2 Supercharged, only paid £2300 for that 2nd hand it was an absolute bargain ! But I see that the 370z kits are around £6000 2nd hand? It's definitely a possibility if I enjoy the car in a few years time and once i learn more about it ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Oh I know but a total of 370bhp over 326bhp is a significant increase. I may have been wrong on the kerb weight, I think 1600kg is like the older 350z convertible maybe. All the reviews mention how heavy they are but when I google the 370z it claims it's like 1450kg or so which isn't so bad 🤔 I just wanted to know the potential as if you ask on the type R or K20s forums, they can all tell you the engine will make X amount of power with bolt ons etc, because it's been done so many times and so everyone knows Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Yup completely different cars I know, as a track project I think the civic is a fad better platform. But as a daily street car, the 370z may be more fun of you can appreciate its character. I've watched so many videos and on thinking most cat backs with the HFC are gonna be too loud maybe, same problem with the the civic cat backs, but it's difficult to say from videos. Most of the cat backs seem to be similar in design really, a burnt rolled tip would be my choice but of course they're all more or less £1500. £500 for the high flow cats seems way overpriced to me, I mean how much for such a small section plus 200 cell stainless steel core/substrate, I think the profit margin must be huge! Im sure whist looking last night I saw 370z text pipes for £400 or so.. are they bloody mad! I'm also thinking that although loud, decat pipes should make over 10bhp more than even the best flowing 200 cell sports cats, perhaps 20bhp? But unlike in the K20 scene, few people bother doing it. I'm wondering if I should get a custom dual cat back made up, so that if was like 20% quieter than typical aftermarket cat back but then I could remap the cat with decats. Has anyone made 370bhp NA on these cars? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. So can someone confirm, this is only in GT Models? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. No I haven't mate, being FWD it's not gonna get fantastic times. Although against a stock 370, it wouldn't be too far off, by 80mph or so it would probably have caught up. I've been on the Nurburgring though 🙂 Yes I would love to get 370bhp, if that's possible with stillen3, HFC and an exhaust and ECUtek remap then that would be fantastic and I'd be happy with it. I'd have to research more on the optimum exhaust to have, and HFC. I've heard of Berk HFC and Ark Grip exhaust is great for power and sound apparently. I've seen a few videos but it's difficult to imagine how it sounds ok person. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Well I loved the nismo but at this point I can't buy a 30 grand car. I can however buy one for 15-17 and put at least the nismo rear on, then maybe the front later down the line. I think it's a fantastic looking car and I'm really debating selling my Supercharged type R for one. I've never been 100% on the 370z front end, it seems a bit basic with such a long bonnet and nothing really going on except the lights and a Nissan badge! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Oh another thing, people using AD08s? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. The more I read the more I'm convinced. This synchro Rev sounds like great fun when the exhaust sounds good, oh a practical too. I'll definitely test drive one first. I think I need to have both HFC AND and an exhaust so that the engine note comes through fully without much effort but then I don't want it to be far too loud, so maybe one of the quieter cat backs. Do the stillen3 make any induction noise you can hear? 360-370 BHP is still not as fast as my civic but it's not gonna be way off with superior low down torque it will feel fast. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Who can tell me about clutches? On the type R, our OEM clutch is good for 25% increase in power no problem. Also with stock NA power you can do 1st gear launches all day and the clutch is fine. Another thing I see spacers all round is such a common mod, is there any beneficial reason for that aside from the obvious? Like it looks better but what else considering you're adding unsprung mass??? Berk HFC and this Ark Grip exhaust seems a good combo if it's not too loud in person. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I don't yet have a Z but have some experience with custom exhausts on K20 engines, civic type Rs. I currently have a Supercharged civic type R which uses a decat manifold but with a very quiet custom cat back. People mentioned longlife which I have used but it's dependent on the ability and experience of whoever runs your local branch. These days I use Alan @ solid fabrications who is a skilled professional welder not limited to just exhausts but he'll weld manifolds, turbos and stuff that your typical power flow or longlife guy will likely find is beyond their ability. He's very very good. My FN2 2.5" cat back cost £550 but a 370z system would cost more if it's longer and more complex. I've been recommended this Ark Grip too and it sounds great, but if it costs over £1000 then I could get a replica designed for less. In my experience with type R exhausts I learned that achieving a desirable exhaust note is not as complicated as people think. Tubing thickness, grade of stainless or mild steel and packing material can affect the sound but generally in straight through style cat backs the only factor is the number and size of the silencer boxes. Or really the total volume of them. Most of the time there's little else influencing the noise that comes out the end. More, bigger silencers equals quieter reducing all frequencies so with very little silencing the high frequency rasp is apparent. it's getting the balance that creates a desirable sound, somewhat subjectively. Also I would guess that most, if not all cat backs in the UK are designed to work with the stock cat, not a decat or high flow cat if this removes any silencing. There might be US systems, I don't know about the 370Zs at all I'm just learning. More than likely you could replicate this Ark Grip exhaust, put the same size and number of boxes on it and it should sound the same. He can use polished boxes if you Iike! There may be a slight variation as the different materials used resonate slightly differently but it may not be noticable. I'll do more research first but if it's as simple as I imagine I may get a custom system designed to replicate the Ark Grip at least to get sound level correct. Then I'll get a custom rolled and burned tips welded on the ends because I really prefer that, and I'd have the tips sticking out a few inches. I noticed most of the cat backs I've seen don't do that but I think it would look awesome! So I've got a question, first of all do these aftermarket high flow cats have any resonator/silencer? Or is it simply a 200 cell core within a pipe which would be as loud as a decat pipe. Secondly, K20 engines respond well to single exit 3.0" exhausts even on NA setups. Is this not the case with Zs? Or are the exhausts a dual/twin system throughout? Here's a rolled tip I'd like at the end of my custom exhaust. I think GReddy used to make a Z version. 🙂😎 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Could someone clarify? The base models do not have it? All GTs have it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Oh I definitely want a white one! Since I had my champ white edition FN2 I've grown to really appreciate sports cars in white! I do like black as well, had a black EP3 but they don't stand out as much and obviously they won't contrast with the nismo bumper etc if they're already black. Thanks for all the responses guys but I do want a 370, not 350 even if I have to increase my budget. I'm gonna buy a little flat to move into so I want/need to retain around £25,000 for a deposit but once that's sorted I could save a few grand more quite quickly and consider what's on the market. I think performance wise, my civic would obliterate any NA 370, except in a 0-60, but even then it would be catching up! I think I could sacrifice some cornering ability and overall performance, for the V6 lump that actually produces more low down torque than my FN2, even though it's supercharged. It's simply a bigger more powerful engine, my FN2 makes 200lbft at 3500rpm. I think a stock 370z makes more than that even at 2000rpm. But in a car not much more than 1300kg, the lower torque is still enough to get it moving. Looking at the dyno chart above, despite being heavier think a 370z might feel quite a bit nicer in the lower revs with some real usable grunt. I can only imagine really. It you think your Zs need more low down power then try driving a stock civic type R FN2 or any K20s type R. (not the new one). Put your foot down at 2000rpm and nothing moves 😀 I'm not gonna sell mine until I'm 100% sure but the more videos I watch, the more I think I'd be happy with it. I think a stock 370z in white with black OEM alloys looks great and with a cat back I'll be revving it all day. It's slow and has a fat ass but lots of character Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Yeah good times on CTRO but I think all forums are less active now. Nothing conclusive on that link. I know all about the K20 and it's common knowledge that around 250bhp is the limit with all bolt ons. So surely members here must have the same knowledge in relation to 370zs? I want to find out which is the best performing and sounding exhaust, intake etc. In time I will learn... when it comes to modding FN2s and EP3s I know just about everything. Have you had a 370? Think I'll enjoy it ? 🙂 My main concern is appearance. I want a storm white with black alloys and in time, I want the nismo bumpers. With the exception of super cars, a nismo 370z in whIte is my favourite looking car. Coupled with a great sounding engine and exhaust, I can overlook the lesser performance and with it being a heavy car, more expensive to run than my FN2. My civic can do 36+ mpg cruising which is pretty good for a 340bhp car. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
