  1. I ordered mine last week and it’s in the UK now. When you say shockwave V2, does it mean there was a v1 a while ago?. Since I ordered mine only a week ago from Tarmac, I’d expect it to be the revised version 2 too right? also if you’ve got any videos you’ve made yourself can you send me a link or post here cause I’d love to hear it. I’ve already seen all the YouTube’s ones

    I went too far...

You should have got ART Pipes they’re a fair bit quieter than any HFCs. I have the same above Ark Grip, with but ART Pipes setup and its much quieter than the above video. Im selling my ark Grip soon as I’m fitting a motordyne shockwave next week. With any HFCs/decat you need to plan to buy one of the quieter cat backs. I can post a few videos if anyone wants, but it’s the ART Pipes I feel that reduce/Eliminate any drone
  3. I can’t remember what the invidia looks like. But as said I’ve been using ARK Grip with ART Pipes and there’s zero drone. Not even cold starts. Hence why i’m gonna give the motordyne shockwave a go
  4. Yeah ART Pipes are underestimated IMO. They really are even quieter than HFCs and focus on reducing drone and other frequencies. At the moment I’ve got Ark Grip with it but next week I’m fitting a motordyne shockwave.
  5. Ark Grip is one of the quieter options if you run any decat or HFCs. There’s zero drone at all, cold starts are ok and with with windows up, it’s still really refined in the cabin. But some of that may be due to the ART Pipes resonating too. The shockwave has a louder and deeper note. But they seem to be designed to go together, each set of helmholtz resonators still minimises drone and it’s doesn’t sound drastically louder than my current setup. Bear in mind this one has a CAI and the motordyne inlet M370 inlet, both parts upgraded Ivthink. Sothere’s a strong induction note. But it sounds good to me, I could live with it. Cold starts loudish but only for 30 seconds or a bit more.
  6. I amost forgot I had a project thread here. I’ve already got ART Pipes with Ark Grip but I’ve bought a motordyne shockwave. It’s going to be a bit louder fore sure, but I just have to try it. It should arrive next week 4.5” burnt rolled tip. I wasn’t sure on the bigger 5” as under hard accelerating it hit and burn the rear bumper. Plus they don’t stick out much either way. I’ll have the Ark Grip for sale at some point
  7. Sorry here’s the one with the FI fitted with the Nismo bumper. It’s not clear but it’s definiteky the FI
  8. Btw, I’ve got my Ark Grip and the same MK2 Nismo Bumper as you. They don’t stick out much or at all, but they were aligned perfectly and didn’t need modification? I had Fast intentions before that too and again, they were aligned fine, just didn’t stick out much

    Advice please

If you want the best for your money then use a stock intake setup. I say that as I reverted to stock HKS hybrid filters and silicone hoses etc I’m selling a Z1 CAI for £250 but to be honest , just like the Stillen G3 it’s not really doing anything other than making an induction note. You might get 1-2 at the peak but lose it further down so I wouldn’t bother. You can buy one of the cheaper exhausts like cobra and a HFC. Buy one used if you can and save money. 2.5” or higher gives better gains. Then you should make something like 350bhp, if you do go HFC or decats just make sure it’s one of the quieter cat backs. I’ve got an ART decat Pipes with an Ark Grip and there’s no drone whatsoever but they’ve both got special resonators on them. so I’ve got 4x helmholtz resonators. Supercharging then you might as well look at other cars really.
  12. They’ll all pretty much the same all the CAIs kits, £500+ for some aliminium tubing and silicone clamps etc there’s not much else to the kits just what’s in the photo. I can say that the filters other than being pinched slightly from squeezing them in, they are not even dirty and do not even need cleaning really. They can all be cleaned and reused forever with a K&N kit if necessary. But due to their location in general I don’t even think they need really cleaning even once a year/service unless you do epic mileage. You can kinda see and inspect part of the blue filters under the numberplate and under the bonnet, without having to actually take the bumper off. I’m not in a rush to sell, I’ve got a bunch more to sell also but i’ll accept £250 signed delivery /collected by cash or in whatever way PayPal doesn’t take a chunk out of it. But whilst being within the trading rules of course. If anyone is intending on getting a CAI at some point, they’re virtually the same - the Z1 actually has a fair bit more silicone than its rivals and that’s why I chose it over Stillen G3 etc.
  13. Yeah. A few people PMd me asking where it’s located. But it’s been around 12 hours I think since then with no response so I’ve not agreed to sell it to anybody yet.
  14. There’s a full AAM cat back for sale on EBay which I listed in the relevant section. one of the tips is bent but I guess that’s an easy fix
  15. 370Z AAM Cat Back, with some silencers added, which you’d almost certainly want if you’ve not running stock cats. I think this is around 2.75-3” bore IIRC so would be one of the best performing exhausts and gain 5bhp+ over the regular smaller systems. A friend of mine is selling if anyone is interested https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissan-370z-AAM-True-Dual-Exhaust-Silencers/253633619363?_mwBanner=1&ul_ref=https%3A%2F%2Frover.ebay.com%2Frover%2F0%2F0%2F0%3Fmpre%3Dhttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F253633619363%26rvr_id%3D0%26rvr_ts%3D79f62f8b1630ac1f6341cddaffe9f2a4&ul_noapp=true
  16. On my old type Rs and in theory Decats, especially a pair of them should produce less backpressure and subsequently more bhp and torque than even a pair of 200 CELL HFCs. But to be honest from the charts I’ve seen, I haven’t seen any others with ART Pipes like mine but HFCs don’t seem to be particularly restrictive. If you’re going decat i’d make sure you have a sufficiently quiet cat back, or not only will it be very loud on cold starts, drone at mid rpm but it might have a nasty rasp to it. I’m not trying to sell you the most expensive Decat there is, but if you do some research, everyone says that the ART Pipes reduce or eliminate rasp with their helm holts resonators. They are even supposedly quieter than HFCs, I can very this myself as I switched from Fast Intentions 300 CELL HFCs to ART Pipes. I also use an Ark Grip Cat Back because my former Fast Intentions CBE with 10” resonator was too loud. However, at the time I was not sure if swapping the FI HFCs to ART Pipes would make it quiet enough. Comparing the size of the silencers, the FI cat back would be very similar in volume if not for the additional pair of helm holts resonators on the ARK Grip. These must tune and cancel out certain raspy frequencies and make it a bit quieter at the same time. Id check YouTube videos for some ideas, as even on loud setups, the ART Pipes still manage to retain a deep non-raspy sound, even combined with a Motordyne Shockwave. With no HFCs and a regular Decat, I’d ensure that the rest of your cat back has got large enough silencers and/or resonators to keep the noise and rasp down. I think Ark also do a Decat with similar resonators for a bit cheaper. If you can afford it if get ART Pipes though. Heres an idea how loud it might be, this has ART Pipes, AAM short tail pipe thing and the AAM mid pipe. It’s loud but a deep loud for the most part thanks to the ART Pipes. I wouldn’t like to imagine what it might sound like without them.
  17. Haha ok no worries mate thank you. I will take another photo with a piece of paper when I can, I might have to draw a penis or something silly next to my username as well now for retribution Thanks for the PM
  18. Hi GMballistic, thanks for that, I’m sure I remember you from CTRO. I also recently posted another for sale topic selling my Pearl white bumpers but it seems it wasn’t approved. The only reason I can think of is I did not include a photo with my username. But I did include the username photo on this one. And I did include a photo of the bumpers fitted on my car, if that helps. Do you know if this is the reason why my topic wasn’t approved? And is there any other way I can get it approved without having to drive to open up my garage again to take another pic? I know it’s the rules and I understand the purpose to prove they’re in my possession. But in this case they are huge bumpers that will be sold and inspected on collection anyway. Just like if I were selling a car itself, it’s not something I can deliver or trick somebody into purchasing if you know what I mean! I can provide more pics of the bumpers actually fitted on my car, with my reg if that provides some more reassurance? I can even photoshop my username on a piece of paper Please let me know what to do because it took me a while to write the last ad and when I try post it again I’d like it to be approved. Thanks.

    Intake...

I’d recommend stock hybrid filters for value for money, but I’m selling a Z1 CAI if you’re interested.
  20. The cobra cat back is fine, it won’t make as much as a Motordyne 2.5-3”, but then they are loud and expensive. The next mod before mapping would be either HFCs or decat. That m370 plenum alone wouldn’t really have justified the cost, only giving some midrange maybe losing a few bhp top end. I purchased the ART Decats, but obviously they won’t pass the MOT. I figured the ART Decat pipes were the best option and should logically be less restrictive than even a pair of 200cell HFCs, and they’ve got helm holts resonators which claim to be as quiet or quieter than HFCs. That said, I’ve seen other setups with HFCs make more peak power on the same dyno as mine, it might make better torque or power elsewhere in the Rev range, I’m not sure. But ultimately my conclusion is there’s not a huge difference between HFCs or Decats on the dyno The guy in the other thread made 323whp, I think he had a Stillen cat back, cobra or Berk HFCs and the same hybrid filter intake that you and I have. All engines are different, perhaps his is an exceptionally good one to make that peak figure. But you should see at least 310whp, up to 350-360bhp with a pair of HFCs I reckon. If you want more then a pair of headers are another very expensive upgrade but probably not worth the cost as they might not even gain 10bhp over the stock headers. I’ve not seen enough charts to be sure, but evidently most people don’t do it because the gains just don’t justify cost. Probably the same when it comes to larger TBs, both upper and lower plenum. Perhaps all of them combined would achieve a good figure, maybe 380bhp at a guess? But it might costs 3-£4000 to buy and fit it all.
  21. A friend of mine was selling his. They do make some midrange but sacrifice some top end. Not worth the cost IMO especially as it looks shite and it’s just a ported 350z plenum? Perhaps look into the Z1 upper and lower, or her a 3” cat back, optimise the rest of your setup. Buying and installing a set of exhaust manifold headers is expensive, and it is costly to get much over 360bhp NA.
  22. I asked mods to move this into this section but they didn’t, so I’m reposting in this section It costs £500 to buy right now at Torqen website. Selling for £290 including delivery, delivered to UK. With original box and instructions. Purchased from Torqen UK, less than 1 year old and done around 4,000 miles. The filters don’t even need cleaning yet, it functions as new. This offers the same gains as the Stillen G3 and all the other CAI designs with the filters at the front, it’s got integrated velocity stack too. It’s a bit easier to install as it has more silicone and I chose it as it has more silicone and less aluminium for a bit less heatsoak. It made 360bhp with Ark Grip and ART decat pipes. If you’ve got a reasonably quiet exhaust setup, it gives a nice induction note over stock which you can hear in this video: Product link and full info/description is here: https://www.torqen.uk/nissan/370z/intakes/intakes-system/3345-370z-z1-motorsports-cold-air-intake-kit-370zz1intk.html
