  1. Will the complete one have been divorced properly and therefore plug and play?
  2. Not sure, but it'd make sense - gotta get to both calipers somehow. Might not be the cable though, could be something else that has snapped / cracked.
  3. Could be that only one side has gone. Try set off with the handbrake on and see if it dips to one side?
  4. I'd make sure to leave it in gear anyway just in case (if you aren't already).
  5. It's a car, they aren't supposed to make financial sense. Just do it, they are amazing. It's what I want to upgrade to when I'm done with my Z. That, a 650i, or an IS F (though a Maserati Granturismo would be the dream). Kinda scared with it being British and the potential maintenance costs, but you know it'd be worth every penny.
  6. In my defence, I was asking for advice about how to go about tinting (products / procedures) and if anyone had solid factual evidence about the laws surrounding it. I've got no problems with people sharing their opinions on whether I should or should not tint my lights, but at the end of the day, they are only opinions unless you can back them up with factual evidence. You have your opinion, I have mine, there is no right or wrong, but I'm happy to discuss them, just don't take offence if we don't share the same views. As for pulling logic out of my backside, modifications of any sort being counted as a distraction (increasing the chance of an accident) is something insurers use to justify the additional cost to declare those mods, even if it's something as simple as a sticker. I've not once had an issue seeing the light output from a car with tinted lights. Maybe you've had a different experience, but I'm finding it hard to relate to that point of view. Anyway, apologies if I've somehow upset you. I'm not trying to discredit people's opinions, I'm just taking a more light-hearted approach to the conversation.
  7. 10 years is right when the new model came out. Are you on about the X100 (the old one) or X150 (the one they stopped making in 2014)? Would love either tbh.
  8. What if you first replace the bulbs so they are brighter than OEM? The human eye can apparently see the flame of a candle from over 1.6 miles away, so surely it can see some super bright LEDs from a few hundred feet even with a bit of tinting in the way?
  9. Looks like a Lexus and a Merc had a baby. Not a bad thing
  10. I'd assume it's just a case of undoing then redoing a load of screws. Try PMing techinstaller since he seems to know about it.
  11. So if the light output is still above that min, then there should be no issue? If my lights with tints are still brighter than some cars with no tints, then surely it'd be fine?
  12. Is there anything that says what too dim is though?
  13. (Un)fortunately I've become an expert in this. Under the Consumer Rghts Act 2015, if the car is not of satisfactory quality (accounting for age / mileage), doesn't match the description, or isn't fit for purpose, if you report the fault in: - The first 30 days, you are entitled to a full refund or you can ask for a repair / replacement. - The first 6 months, you have the option of repair or replacement. If you aren't satisfied with how the dealer is handling things, you have a few options depending on what outcome you want: - Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) schemes - Ombudsman - Getting repairs done yourself then attempting to claim back the cost (may require small claims court) - Small claims court (usually more of a final resort and can still be used regardless of the result of using an ADR / ombudsman) - Sec 75 claim if purchased with a credit card
  14. Could argue the reverse though - make your lights (or car ) too bright and it could dazzle and distract other drivers. Imagine you're just cruising along in the sea of black / silver cars and suddenly this tangerine on wheels comes flying towards you.
  15. This is exactly the reason why I did the post...Ive been ripped off by garages in the past & found them difficult to deal with (and yes you do get undermined being female for sure )..we are quick to say when we have bad dealings so I wanted to share my good experience for any future buyers (check out Honda/Seats Automarts first ,they really have been brilliant). Really sorry to hear you are having problems. I took a 2 year extra warranty too as I like to cover all my bases (past lessons learnt)..but this work is being done under the standard 4 week warranty. I genuinely hope you manage to get something sorted I know too well how it feels...one of my nightmares was a timing belt snapping after 6 weeks of ownership..16 valves, cylinder head blown...cost £2500 to fix. Independent garage man disappeared on me! Stranded in the middle of Yorkshire! I'll never be that naive & vulnerable again xx Funnily enough the dealer I bought from used to be a Honda dealer until they get their license revoked, and now they are Citroen. I took out the extended 18 month RAC warranty (but it's not really with the RAC, that's just a name they use to sell it). The repairs should be being done under the standard consumer rights act 30 day / 6 month guarantee, but they are just fighting me at every turn. It's nice to here that they aren't all like this though Mine was sold without enough oil in it to start with (though it obviously still passed the MOT they did....)
  16. Welcome. Lucky you bought it from such a good dealer who was willing to fix the problems. I got my Z 3 months ago and I'm still fighting to get the dealer to repair stuff. They fob me off, bide time, refute the consumer rights act, insult me, insult my driving, and straight up lie.
  17. Since when do you need a badge to park in the child bays?
  18. Off topic, but I love the Galant / Legnum. Was it the VR-4? Got some pics?
  19. At least nobody stole your space though?
  20. Did you all remove the lights before applying the tint or can you get away with leaving them on? Seems the head/tail lights should be easy enough left on, but the indicator / reverse lights are tucked in and look like they might be hard to do?
  21. Yeah this is something I do if I can't find a better space such as a corner or end.. I did move a road cone I found in a car park once and put it in front of the bay next to mine; it was clear that the space was fine I prayed on the laziness of others and it paid of! ... Now if only a road cone fit in the boot. (PS. I work for a leasing company and we still care about damage) Couldn't do that round here. Your cone would just get nicked.
  22. Did consider that stuff, but heard a lot of bad things about it not looking very good (close up), leaving @*!# on your lights, and not being suitable for Xenons due to it melting or something.
  23. Is that a pun or a spelling mistake?
