  1. Motorway is 6th gear, but at slower speeds I like to stay close to 2K when cruising. Plenty of grunt to change speed in traffic, and always the option to drop a gear if I want her to pull hard.

  2. Mine has 100 k and there are some bits to sort out. Nothing I haven't had on other old cars though. The engine was designed to do 200k so Nissan have done their best to make a solid car.

The clutch will probably need replacing at that age if it hasn't already been done. Also check oil pressure is high on the guage. For some it idles at 30 psi but I think minimum is about 15.

What area are you based in? Can be good to take the one you buy to an expert for a service and once over.

  3. welcome :)

Welcome and great looking zed :)

Pictures of the RS4? Have a soft spot for these :)

I didn't expect to upload an Audi pic into Nissan forum, but there you go. I hope the mods don't delete this post :) The Audi was stolen and used in several thefts I believe. The 350z definitely feels more nimble, whether it would actually match the rs4 in a straight line I doubt it. But that hardly matters, what matters is the grin on your face when driving it

we're all petrol heads here, and this is the hi, hello section not a specific zed section so it's all good :)

  4. Hola :)

Have a look about for a stickied thread about Junction 17, it's worth going in with your eyes open as their sales pitch doesn't appear to match their follow through.

My personal take from that would be to treat them like a private seller, ie buy the car as seen with the risk that involves. Don't forget to do your own HPI check too.

This one or the next though, the 350Z is a treat to drive :)

  5. I was riding the rush hour wave southbound on the M1 last week, so the road was nice and clear but I knew what was brewing up behind me. Just past a service station I see a backpacker walking down the hard shoulder, I think holy crap he's gonna get himself killed when they turn that into a live lane in a few minutes time!

So I pull over, he's a young lad from europe and had no idea the hard shoulder turns into a live lane during rush hour. As luck would have it not only am I going his way on the M1 but he's also heading do the docks in Dover.

I know there are some wrong uns out there, but you can meet them in any part of your daily life. So when the timing is right I do pull over to help.

  6. Hi All,

I'm looking for a pair of front suspension top arms for my 350Z. Willing to collect from Kent or pay delivery for further out. That said I do drive all over the place for work so may be able to collect from further away, but that may take a while to arrange.

Fingers crossed someone has them, once my wheels are at the right angle I can get some proper rubber on!

  7. Hi all,

Well, I am now the proud owner of 'Kimi', a 4 - 5 year old grey and white moggy (renamed from Bakora - as he did not answer to it.). Yes, the one I went to see 2 weeks ago.

Fodder obvioulsy knows more about these things than me - he knew I was going to have him before I did !!!

I would have uploaded some photo's - but it says my files are too big and I don't know how to change them to fit. They currently are about 7.22 MB. I would appreciate if someone can guide me please.

So Day 1 he hid behind the sofa and I had to drag him out and show him around occasionaly.

He would sit on the chair beneath the table and allow me to stroke him, obvioulsy this was me sitting beneath the dining table and getting a kink in my neck at the same time !!!

Day 3 - he strolls around like he owns he place. He follows me everywhere, albeit he sits on the hallway carpet watchig me in the kitchen as I think the floor is too cold for his delicate paws !! Softy !!

He has a strange habit of when walking always stretching out his paws to reveal his claws, but does not scratch anything that I can see - including the scratching post i bought him !!!

He likes his ball toys and loves attention.

I have had to remind myself several times - this is my house and my rules and this cat does not rule me !!!

Already in 6 days his coat is healthier and today he visited the vets for his vacinations, a check up and nail clipping he did not seem to mind any of it - well apart from the journey - i think the K1 exhaust might be a bit loud for him !!!

Hopefully I can upload some photo's soon.

You've got it all back to front. You didn't chose him, he chose you! This is where we knew he was going to live with you:

He sits mainly in his closed bed, happily takes effection but rarely comes out so i am told. He came straight out for me and sat with me for 30 minutes !!!

Now I have no idea how they know, but sometimes a cat does just know who his next pet human will be. There is something very special about being chosen like that :)

As for who's house it is, I'll let you work that one out as the days go past ;)

  8. My fuel gage has never gone up to full since getting her a month ago. This fix was on the list of bits and bobs that need to be sorted but I thought I'd give the fuel cleaner a go. I picked up the 4 pack box for a tenner at halfords and filled my tank before the car was due to sit idle for a few days. It didn't rise to the top over that time but where it would give the low fuel light when at 1/4 tank this time it got all the way to the red line before the light came on. Got 380 miles out of that tank :)

When I filled up it shot right up to the top. I expect it still isn't quite there yet but that was only after one tank's worth of treatment. The 2nd treatment is already in and depending on how that goes I might do more or leave it as is. Will be interesting to see how long it lasts.

  9. on the climate control nobs it will be the left most air direction one. press the black centre in to toggle it. there should be the rectangular heated rear window icon on it and a led

Worked a charm this morning, thanks! I've never these snazzy features on a car before

glad to hear it worked :)
  10. welcome and gratz on your zed :)

best i've had is 34mpg, yet both cars i test drove showed an ave mpg of under 10!

i do love how she can have a foot in both worlds :)

ok she's no modern economy car with 45+ mpg, but for a 3.5L engine I think anything close to 30 is very good!
