  1. well you could for example use A for how far you've got one one tank and B for how far since the last service. they don't have any official meaning, just 2 readings for you to make use of how you like.

  2. Both zeds I test drove said 9mpg on the ave readout. Got 32 on the trip home from wales to kent and am getting high 20s through mostly motorway miles. Was getting distance till empty of 280 and then got 380 out of her after the redex. Cost a lot more to fill the tank too as it was actually empty. If it cost you 50 to max the tank from empty then that was way too little fuel.

  3. Drive more than one. Even if that means a test drive in one without the right specs.

HR will cost more to mod due to the engine changes. Performance mods that is.

So keep that in mind if you want to change a lot of stuff.

That said 7.5k red line at stock is a very nice thing :)

Check tyre make, you might need to put new rubber on even if there is tread left. Mine can with a make so cheap it's not even a known budget brand and the arse end loses grip in the wet before a town car does!

Good practice mind you as I managed to pull her back into line today before the traction control kicked in :)

  4. Are you sure the tank is actually empty or could it be the fuel gauge?

Mine has a habit or losing the top quarter and the bottom quarter of the gauge. 2 doses of redex with the car sat still on a full tank got it working for a few months. It's since started acting up again so I've got another shot of redex in there now.

There is a guide on how to clean the contacts up or just get new or pre loved ones for a more permanent fix

  5. i used to like hot hatches, then i wound up with a coupe and completely fell in love with the form. so when it came time to upgrade i was only looking at other coupes and the zed came out on top for my price range.

you'll know more when you see her in the flesh and take her out for a spin. if your heart doesn't scream yes then i guess it's not the right car for you

  6. Was wondering if you were all skin reading "Bond girl in zed" by mistake ;)

Clearly, I have the wrong hair colour lol

Am worried about the guy with the fetish for girls holding tools though :)

so pop a wig on and see if you can start an impromptu convoy. then you'll know if it's worth dying your hair or not :)

Lol, typical bloke. The right answer would have been "you don't need to dye your hair, I'm sure you look lovely just the way you are".......Men :)

Only joking, might try the blond wig for Halloween ;)

sorry, the scientist in me says this is screaming out for an experiment.

quick, to the bluemobile with a blonde wig FOR SCIENCE!

  7. would you guys rate rust.co.uk as a good place to get a full rust treatment? i live near the coast and drive up and down the salted motorways so i'd like to get some protection on her soon.

edit: i don't mean buying their products but paying for them to do the work

  8. Could be your occupation. My son has 2x NCB at 24. His insurance on a Z is about £2800ish as a serving soldier.

Change his occupation to Computer Engineer and it drops to £800ish

    Insurance logic:

Computer Engineer will use his car daily, park it publicly, and even park it in dodgy areas from time to time - Low risk

Soldier parks his car on a Military Base, guarded by men with guns, high fences and razor wire. Rarely use the car. Park it up for months on end - High risk.

    Dicks.

shhh, don't tell them that or my insurance might go up!
  9. Cheers for the warm welcome everyone. My budget is 9k so will be a 350Z, would be good to head up to the milk bar cafe as its a usual stopping point for me on the way back in after a blast on the motorbike.

For that budget I'd definitely be looking for a HR mate.

It's the latest version of the 350z that was produced, easily noticeable by the twin intakes under the hood. Produces more power, nicer upgraded interior, bi-xenon headlights, LED rear lights, and you get the bonnet bulge :p

as chirag said and the HR has a higher rev limit too, only downside is it costs more to mod due to the dual intakes. if you we're planning on some heavy modding then maybe a very low mileage DE? all depends what you want out of the car i guess. personally i love my high mileage HR, but i bet you'd be hard pushed to find anybody that didn't love their 350, HR or DE :)

p.s. bonnet bulge and not for show either... ;)

  10. Survived court then by the sounds of it

Could have been her man and she is in jail?! :stir:

......but I might have escaped mwah ha ha ;)

I'd say you had the perfect getaway car for it, but after watching that vid i think they would find it all too easy to follow you :)

  11. Hi,

My name is Grant and I thought it was about time that I introduced myself, as I have been a member since 2012!

Always wanted a two seater sports car since I was a lad, fell in love with the 350z and picked mine up with 22000 on the clock in 2012. Im now up to 35000 and have enjoyed every second.

Made a few changes including BC coilovers, new alloys and k1 (I know but I think it sounds great with the bungs in) had to weld them as the bolts looked ugly!

Viewing the site has become part of my daily routine and I really enjoy the various builds, currently extending the house and kids are at university … so I figure I have a year before I can throw some money at her and realise the FI dream … here’s hoping!

mmm, FI dream, at this point in time the metal alone would about double the cost of my zed. maybe one day... :)
  12. I've not followed the deals as I'm happy to talk to PlusNets support staff. I find they actually listen to me when I tell them what I've tried already. Get a much better feeling that their support staff know their job as opposed to most companies that seem to just give their staff a magic script to follow that will solve all problems.

I swapped to fibre when there was a BT modem and a fibre router, the 2 box solution. I think these days it's all in 1 box. When I joined though the router box was a waste of space, but I used that as an excuse to get a fancy Asus router.

It's not been perfect, but I don't think any company is. So for me the difference is having a tech support line that works with me as opposed to at me. I'm in the IT industry so while broadband isn't my bread and butter I have picked up on some troubleshooting tips that put me beyond step 1 of a script.
