  1. So you are out for a blast with all electronic driver aids turned off and it rains heavily. Hopefully before doing a 360 there is time to slow down gradually. Then you limp home being hassled by other cars with 4wd,ESP and TC. In any case carry a spare [pair of trousers]
  2. Any of you on here own[ed] a last generation rx8 in comparison with Toyota offerings? I loved my rx7 till practicalities forced an early sale
  3. Only problem with the GT 86 IS A CYLINDER SHORTFALL
  4. Surely the best track day is room to lap against the track rather than race? Nothing more boring than Imprezza club days in the nineties tailing round. Similarly I now just use motorways/dual carriage ways to find good A B and C roads away from towns and other drivers... best way to enjoy your own car.
  5. Stay safe and as legal as possible with a 70mph speed limit but most of all use lane discipline ie no undertaking or darting off a motorway from middle or outside lane. When all is said and done the drivers respect and feeling for his car reflects in the driving style.
  6. welcome to the forum the Z has so much character and oh so moddable it is one to keep and cherish
  7. As we wait again to learn the injury numbers caused by Firework Night.. was once only on fifth of November... it is long past time that the private sale of fireworks and their detonation is confined to organised events with a government license. The whole experience is surely mainly for kids so safety must be paramount. There are many fields still in this country at least quarter of a mile away from houses. Commiserations to all who have suffered damage to cars.
  8. Its the eternal power to wallet issue in 1990 when I was 32 with a perfect driving history and good ncb it was cheaper to insure a 230 bhp turbo technics Capri than a Sierra Cosworth but now I see 20 somethings tooling around in gtrs msports beemers and amg mercs this is progress more money around so pay up or get off the pot
  9. These are the joys of buying a second hand car so much to check when viewing and driving. My 05 350 seemed superb brakes good steering fine and convinced salesman that I needed an extended test drive to include roads outside a 30mph limit but within a couple of month was obvious that the banana arms were shot ... low speed parking and manouvering.
  10. A FSH is more important ditto number of owners than mileage. The GTR was built for track racing and time setting so 38-58k means zilch
  11. Flashback for me to the mid eighties progressed from 1600 capri to 2000s to 2.8 lusted after a sierra cosworth at 29 years of age but put off by massive insurance so got a 1986 blue over silver turbo technics 200bhp 2.8 capri with affordable insurance and challenging handling. At age 23/ 24 a 3.5 V6 276 BHP REAR WHEEL DRIVE coupe was not an option.
  12. One spotted yesterday morning on Chineham business park with 350z in reg. Another seen in Camberley approx 11 am today. Not in my z on both occasions.
  13. Yeah that was me heading to open roads in Wiltshire and Dorset only just spotted your Z as turning off for the A303. Great weather down at Lulworth cove.
  14. If you have the reg check it out online for tax and insurance.
  15. A big thank you to Richard and the team at Horsham Developments at Chievely near Newbury. I was kept informed as to work required and the car was ready on time
  16. Yah tis wrapping malarkey reminds me of a son of a neighbour who wrapped his Rover 213 in carpet off cuts
  17. Thanks chaps my facts have been checked on the gov website, maybe a new speedometer was fitted between April and july but doubt it. However if the MOT tester made a typing error then that has been transmitted to that website.
  18. Well after nearly 40 years of driving and buying my own cars I have finally purchased a clocked vehicle ... a 350z roadster. I GOT IT ON 10TH JULY with a mileage on the odometer of 65700 and recorded as approx65k on the sales invoice. Well the car has been great, my mileage is low as it is a third car but I knew it would need a P3 service which was planned to coincide with the MOT due end of April. Looked closely at the new style ticket issued last April and the odometer reading was 84684. So in 6 months have done -16,700 miles. No I will not disclose the garage as I will be contacting the hire purchase provider on Monday. Stupid mistake but the car is so good... will get full service done and will disclose the false odometer reading when sold on hopefully not for many years.
  19. Thanks octet , this will probably be my choice.
  20. Hi eveyrone, my 2005 roadster needs a full and thorough 80k P3 service. I live near Basingstoke and have looked online at Horsham Developments north of Newbury and the G uildford based Eurospec. Any reccommendations would be welcome, thanks.
  21. Seen today at 12.30 OV54 ??? with sports front and rear spoilers on Chineham business park, Basingstoke.
  22. Sorry mate that was me in the 05 red 350 your white 370 looked the business. Was returning after a circuit after a bad day at work, sun in my eyes ,sounds in my ears and trying to keep under 30mph
  23. So the quad had no lights it out accelerated the car [a350z) forget the vehicles it is the mentality of the driver that is the issue in fact when out for a rag do it without engaging other road users
  24. Only time ive ever driven at night was to get to the Lakes for early morning .. hear bikers ragging it and high performance motors on our ring roads frequently on fine weather nights. But its down to driving style not being aggressive towards other road users and only using power at appropriate times
  25. Not knocking the Zed's interior for the money when new it was more than OK and a great driving position just saying that for the price of a 911 an everyday driving car nut could run 2 sport s cars without the worry of that heavy lump over and beyond the rear wheels
