Thank you everyone for helping out. Had a read and went back out there... I think part of the messy wiring is the fact the buster mod has been done the very long way where the pioneer wires are mixed and matched with Nissan wires... Anyway, the problem was what Jetpilot suggested about the black and red wires. In the mess of it all I hadn't plugged it in where it should go... Also the ground wiring was a mess and hanging on my a thread but I soldered it and got it sorted. Thanks again guys. Just time to tidy it all up!

Ah i see, I'll give it a check in the morning. My BOSE unit was working right up until taking it out so I assumed it would have been fine. Thanks

You mean these? All looks good.. The headunit itself doesn't have a fuse slot (my past ones all have)

Hi guys (sorry for the huge pics, I didn't know how to resize on the forum) I'm trying to wire in a headunit I just bought from here that came with all the wires etc... Ive fitted a few headunits in the past so thought I would give this a shot today. Would really appreciate if anyone can see anything wrong here. I just cannot work out why it won't power on! What am I missing? Pioneer headunit wiring up to my 04 Bose with steering wheel control So this is the whole lot connected. I think it gets a bit confusing because of the pioneer ipod box... Also some close ups of the wires before going in the car. Now on to the car install... as you can see, it got a little dark. The 3 obvious connectors connected to the ones that were in the original Bose headunit. Earth to the black wire coming out of the pioneer headunit White and blue wires joined together. I do have this white and black wire hanging, don't know what it's for... Is this my problem?

Someone more experienced will come a long I'm sure. However, off the top of my head this is the o2 sensor. Mine came on a couple weeks ago, reset and its been fine. From what I was reading its just the sensor which will be faulty which is around £60-90 to fix. Totally fine to drive the car IMO.

Dibs on the headunit. Does it come with all wires etc needed to plug and play with my BOSE system? I have a 2004 if that makes any difference. Edit - Just saw the last pic with all the wires which is perfect. What year Zed did you have?

My o2 sensors keep triggering my EML too. How much for the uprev if you dont mind me asking? I need to sort the plenum/exhaust/air filter first though.

Jetpilot - In terms of setup from scratch, what would I need? They come with a generic ISO adapter so I'm guessing they wouldn't be a straight plug and play into my BOSE system? Also would I just need the standard double din Fascia. Graygranite- sounds good, got a link to it?

The main reason being I have a Nexus 6p which means it's not possible to use Pioneers appradio without going through the whole Chromecast/tasker way. (The Nexus 6p doesn't allow HDMI out from its USB-C port) My next solution to using waze/spotify etc is one of these headunits. Firstly, would connecting this to my existing factory speakers work okay? I have pre-facelift BOSE atm. Also does anyone have any experience with these? I'm not looking to spend much more than £300 but want the ability to use satnav etc in the car. Some have WiFi built in so I can tether my phones Internet to it or buy a mobile wifi hotspot.

In all previous cars i've has mine placed behind the rear drivers mirror like you're suggesting but for the 350 I've had to stick in where the tax disc used to go. Making sure that it's pointed towards the right a little to get the full bonnet in view. Upper corner on the passenger side may be better though. Angled so you can't actually see much of the screen.

That's a new one, saw it today when I pulled into the dealers. Mine had 74,000 miles.

The dealership I bought the car from wasn't at too much fault here. They did their best which ultimately wasn't good enough and I'd rather walk away with my money than have the headache of trying to sort it all out. So I expect to see them have a Silver 350z up for sale soon. The garage that Prestige Auto Lounge used for the warranty work on the car which I had the BIG problem with is called M A P Motor Services Ltd located in Coventry. Avoid!

FINAL UPDATE! Well, no update on the state of my 350z from the garage and the the hire car didn't work out too well as it was a bit of a deathtrap. Went to the dealership, handed the courtesy car keys back and asked for my refund. Had enough, fresh start. Need a new zed!
