1. Now invest like a fiver in a key bowl/hook/plate for the hallway, no more sitting on keys once you enter the house

Don't keep the bowl near the front door or any windows, some thieves in Basingstoke recently have gotten away with a few Merc's by using one of those lazy grab stick things (like a litter picker) through the letter box to grab the keys!

2. Thanks Alex.

As everyone else seems to have this noise aswell are you also saying that you suspect that all is good with the Zed?

Issue: Spinning noise from below gearbox area when clutch pedal released (when sat still in neutral) noise spins down and goes away within a second of pressing the clutch pedal down.

My Experience:

My last '04 had this,

My current '04 had this, it continued to have this even after the clutch and flywheel was changed (Excedy DMF clutch kit, similar to OEM, not sport)

I was recently at H-Dev for brake and suspension job, I showed him the noise whilst I was there, he said that it's normal for 305z.

My Conclusion (based on my experience and other people iv'e spoken to) Is that this is a normal zed noise and nothing to be concerned about.

3. Thanks Kano, Ill look into it some more, It sounds like yours is the other way around mine makes the noise when you release the clutch pedal where as yours does it when you press it down.. Not sure what that means..

Noise with the clutch peddle pressed down should be a concern.

That noise when the clutch pedal released however is very common on 350z and isn't anything to worry about, my last two '04 had this I went through the same concerns, i even had H-Dev (zed experts) listen to it and they said its normal on these cars. Welcome to Zed Ownership!

I would stick with Alex's Advice :)

How many miles and what year is your HR?

FYI: This has been covered before: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/74992-350z-spinning-sound-from-clutch-when-in-neutral/

4. So a simple brake line and fluid change at H-Dev turned into rear discs and pads, plus front super pro bushes as well! I was gonna say no, but I'm so glad I said yes, I didn't know what I was missing, the steering feels like that of a brand new modern car, corners better too, if I could describe it in a single word, the whole car just feels more Solid.

Jez's mechanic was showing me The super pro for the 350z has its hole offset within the bush, this fixed the geometry and does something to the camber (I think, can't remember what he said) and makes it better than when they left the factory.

I find I don't have to turn the wheel as much as before to achieve the same amount of turn. It's also more responsive to the steering wheel.

My car is a 2004 around 78k miles, and they were completely worn on the front he said, so I imagine all of the older zeds will benefit.

5. Valentines Day is just over a week away! :throb:

As Car guy's we are used to racing around :yahoo:

However as I have previously learnt, racing around last minute is not good for Valentines day :scare::surrender:

So lets be proactive this year and start thinking about one of the most thoughtful parts of this day,

What to write in the Card ?!?

Not just any message, Proper Car / Zed guy messages, that really show how much we love them.

I'll initiate launch control.....

'Every time we come together is like an auto rev-match xxxx' :huglove:

Hmm, maybe I need to find someone nearby with ds2500's so I can see how they are.
I'm really looking for quite a solid pedal at the top.

Ah I believe I may have found the term I was looking for:
pad knockback

http://www.stoptech....s/pad-knockback

As when I double tap my brakes, they feel brilliant, hmm doing some reading.

I have recently upgraded to the T2 and DS2500 as well, with existing RBF 660 fluid from the last recent service where they bled the system.

I had the same issues with the old OEM pads and discs where I had to press the peddle twice to get decent initial bite.
Since the new discs and pads (Front only) It seems as though the travel as become worse, it is indeed breaking when I press the peddle but very slightly, in short, its very progressive.
Couple or three pumps continues to do the trick though.

The car was services recently and the fluid was bled, so i doubt it's air in the system, I don't think it's knock back as it happens all the time not just after going round corner, plus i'm not cornering on track.

I heard it could be master cylinder?
