  1. Im in Reading too (Earley) and see lots of Zeds on the A329 and around. Don't think iv'e seen your Red one yet. I'm the Silver one with tinted windows and Michelin tire letters.

I'm up for a meet whenever, Reading uni has a nice newly laid big car park, 2 hour free parking (my cheeky drifting spot).

Iv'e had a zed meet idea for a while, which I won't be able to make now as im on holiday, but i'll propose it anyway...Showcase Reading (big car park) for a meet followed by screening of Fast and Furious 8 (April 12th release).

Showcase works for me I'm literally two seconds down the road in Winnersh opposite Haldfords :teeth:

Maybe give it a month or so when the weather is slightly better, Ill speak with the managers to see if we can cordon off part of the car park and maybe set up a couple of BBQ s or something.

Id feel a little embarrassed bring my 350 though she needs alot of attention at the moment!!!!

Ah ok, been to that halfords many times! Yeh that sounds like a good idea re.showcase, we could also ask to reserve a screen for the movie, perhaps get JapSociety involved to help organise and get more car folk there.

And yeh mine needs a proper detail (long overdue) before i take her to any meets haha

EDIT: I just sent JapSociety a FB message to see if it's something they'd be interested in taking the lead on.

My girl is suffering from rust on all 4 arches, I'm not to concerned about the fronts as they are removal-able its just the rears that i need to get sort as soon as I have moved to Bracknell!! SO far Top Gear in Basingstoke is looking to be the best value for money unless anyone else knows of a good body shop in the area.

    Good call with JapSociety :D

Haven't had to use a body shop before so couldn't say, however for the near future I am thinking about a whole car repray (get it looking like new again) and under body rust protection where needed. Do let me know how you get on with them.

As for the event, no reply from JapSociety, So i emailed the Showcase group bookings enquiry about our idea this morning, I asked them to propose some dates and times to us, then I will create an official event thread, so we can get a gauge on interest & numbers, and of course if people want to let other car clubs / friends know that's great, the more the merrier.

  3. Wow very sorry to hear this happened, rather alarming too that it did so without any warning signs, was the chain ever replaced previously in the car's history?

Anyway, happy to hear you managed to sell and are now looking forward to your next Zed :)

  5. All done. For the LHS I just pulled the top of the front bumper back enough to get at the headlight screws so I could pull the whole assembly out and swap the bulb. Soooooo much easier.

I wouldn't go as far to say it was worth it, it's taken way longer than expected and my hands are ripped to shreds, but it needed doing and it does look much better.

Which bulbs did you go with?

  6. Some useful info found online that should clear all the confusion (if anyone reading this was confused like I was).

Iv'e made bold and added info in brackets for the 350z specific stuff:

Bulb types T10-501/W5W (350z front sidelights, number plate, and boot light) and T15-194/W16W are genrally used for sidelights, but some vehicles also use this fitment for number plate and interior lights. Bulb types T20-7440/3156 (350z front & rear indicator, reverse and fog light) and T20-7443/3157 (350z Brake & Tail light, in a single bulb) are mainly used for brake, fog, indicator and reverse light functions.

The difference between 7440/W21W & 7443/W215W is that 7443/W215W is a dual filament bulb that allows two functions from one bulb, such as a sidelight and brake light in one bulb or an indicator and parking light in one bulb. 7440/W21W does not have this function.

  7. Can I just ask - for those with the Berks/Milltek combo, when booting it, do you get a whoosh of air through them that you hear? I do..

I just recently had Berks HFC and JWT Pop charger installed in addition to the existing miltek cat back system, and i know what sound you are talking about, i also hear it when i get past the 4k revs.

Hey all, I am not part of the group buy but just had my UpRev now!

JWT Popcharger, Motordyne 5/16 spacer, Motordyne ART test pipes and ARK GRiP catback were the relevant mods.

Not as many gains as I was hoping for in all honesty but...the feel is nice! I seemed to make a little more power to start than I expected as well?

Pops and bangs is also hilarious and very anti social 😎

Considering Si8pny got to 287 with his mods (which didn't include HFC) I'm surprised yours with the test pipes didn't get more then 287?

  9. I also second this opinion of Exhaust/Cat buildup. I have experienced this during warm conditions and booting it. I now have a new full cobra exhaust system with cobra CATS and an uprev and haven't had this issue since but i expect it to come back one day. I believe it to be a build up from inner city driving (my Work commute is 6 miles tops) then opening her up. Since I've had the upgrades though she gets opened up all the time (OMG the sound). either that or my clutch will go at some point, either way don't worry

Interesting, my OEM cats will get replaced with brand new Berks soon, followed by uprev, hopefully the smell will go after as it has done on yours.
