  1. I think I might have the same thing. My initial thought was that the wheels need balancing (which they do) as I've gotten weird rumbling from a car before due to poor/no balancing (although this was going 60+). Guess I'll be dishing out some time soon.
  2. In the Midlands myself and I wouldn't mind visiting for a chat and to get a more experience opinion of my new toy. Oh and to get the sticker, of course. Where is the Shed? I take it we're talking a fair journey.
  3. Thought I'd drop back in and thank other users for their welcome also. I look forward to maybe attending a meet up in the future.
  4. This is the mentality I had to take when thinking about buying my car. It's a shock to see the cost and I don't see why it should be so much higher than another version, but it is what it is. It's an expensive car in every way and if you're into your motors you'll justify it by cutting back on other stuff and diverting that little extra each month to the car.
  5. When you know, link it if it's even remotely the right size and shape; I'm expecting modification in some way regardless.
  6. A lot of people do tablet installs and they're typically 7 inch screens. A little dash customisation would have it fit either way.
  7. Just as a note, I paid £8k for my '07 GT (friend of a friend deal) and I have seen an 06 for £7k (eBay). Obviously condition, mileage and preferences have to be taken into account, but depending on where you're looking (and just plain luck) there are some good buys out there.
  8. That's got to be some of worst salesmanship ever. If you want to get some touch up body work done than that's your prerogative. It's like not wanting to get the leaves out of your gutter because they're just going to reappear next year.
  9. Thanks for the warm welcome all. The Zeditis hasn't bitten too hard yet, but being the son of a petrol head can only have one result. It's my favourite colour, so when I found somebody selling a facelift GT model I very much had to buy it. Can't wait to put some AC Cobra go-faster stripes on it
  10. I had a couple of ideas. One of them was having it as a general purpose cubby (one that I can get at that isn't behind me) and possibly routing cables into there, such as a my HU's USB leads and maybe wiring in another 12v charger. I was also thinking that a flat plastic surface (floor or roof of the cubby) would allow me to mount a phone/tablet holder and it could sit in the cubby instead of on the windscreen. And when not used the device and mount come away as usual. And depending on the size of the cubby I would also be left with some extra space behind the centre console for wires. I know it seems a bit odd to want to get rid of a sat-nav and replace it with storage, but my new HU means the stock navi is useless. And i could also remove its DVD unit to make another storage space.
  11. Hi all I've been visiting a while now and got my Zed a few weeks ago, so I thought it might be time for a newbie thread. I'll just get on with what people really want to see: This is after her first wash on a weekend that has only been repeated once since in the Midlands. At the moment she's looking a bit sorry, covered in road dust but hopefully I can get around to some cleaning on the weekend. There are a few rough spots on the body and the rays need refurbing, but it still stands out and has me smiling like an idiot when I look at or drive it. And that's all that I care about really.
  12. As pictured in boths Pete's post and mine, I have the lip. I'm not all that fussed over having the sliding door (if the mechanism and movement involved would cause an issue), I just want to mount something behind. https://conceptzperformance.com/Cart/description.php?II=12486 I know this is for a different model, but it doesn't seem like it would be too difficult to attach this or something like it to the back of the centre console, especially if I do something similar to Fluke with plasti card.
  13. Thanks for the images. It will be a little bit of extra investigating when I can next get the console out, which I need to do for other things anyway.
  14. That sucks to hear. As a rule people can't drive. My dad's had his stationary van hit twice in two weeks; early in the morning and late at night so there was no excuse aside from incompetence and excessive speed. They just can't judge the road properly.
  15. Build something to go behind it then. Thanks for the feedback guys.
  16. Unfortunate. My thoughts were getting the shallow '03 cubby from Conceptz, or just any cubby, and altering it or fabricating something to make it fit behind the centre console; just fit a box behind the opening. Obviously I thought I'd ask in case somebody else has been in the same situation and found a good solution.
  17. Only from the front. None of the centre console out right now. (this is obviously pre-installation of new HU)
  18. I did some searching around and a lot of it was like-for-like swaps or doing a tablet install or something else. My plan is to have a cubby without a door that I can possibly feed plugs into (USB, 12v etc.) and that can have a phone/tablet mount sitting there on occasion.
  19. I think I've been experience a bit of this when I give it a bit of grunt. I'm not as I haven't had chances to do some good testing. I've only had it a few weeks so I'm still 'learning' it.
  20. Hi all. I spent hours swearing at my baby on Friday afternoon, but I got my new HU in. Still some work to do but that's something else. Since my new HU has a sat nav (and I have my phone for navigation too) I was thinking of taking out the old sat nav. My primary questions are as follows: 1. Does anybody have any experience with or links relating to building a cubby to fill the void? It can be a project and I know some people who could help. 2. Secondly, are the cubbies interchangeable? Conceptz has a replacement cubby for the 03. I'm not really fussed about a closing cubby so this would be fine, but would it fit my '07? I can also look for Zs being broken but again it's all about the fit. I should probably make a build thread; got a great photo of the rat's next behind my new HU

    Toyo Tyres

Slightly cheaper than Oponeo at £510
  22. Hmm, I wonder if I should try these Michelin tyres. It would be really great if I could find some feedback on them, but absolutely nobody seems to mention them. Maybe they're not all that good. /sarcasm Seriously though, I guess I'l give them a shot later in the year when I need some new rubber. They're not rated particularly well for fuel economy, but I own the wrong car for that anyway

It doesn't. Your first mistake was thinking about buying the car. I haven't had my Zed a month and I've come to this conclusion.
  24. I use my holder for my work parking permit. It's still ugly in the windshield but it needs to be there.
  25. Yesterday was fitting a new HU. It's not totally done, but it's better than the stock Bose unit for today. Today I've finally gotten around to removing the door button panels to strip and repaint them. Currently drying a coat and I'll be off to top it up in a bit. Looking a lot better already.
