  1. They should just be glad they're not working in a Foxconn sweatshop.
  2. I'm not sure if this is standard for an '07 GT, but mine doesn't have a cubby; the sat nav just sits there (there's no door to it). I'd have to remove the satnav and make/buy a new cubby to fit there. That's a future project, I think.
  3. I think this is worth asking here: where do people have their various cables coming out of? Like aux in and USB cables. I was thinking of having them come out in the passenger foot well or even into the change draw (or pop-out drinks holder if yours has it). Photos of ay of these mods would be appreciated.
  4. A guy I work with uses Waze; stuff like that along with the customisation options (see: all of the apps ever) is why I really wanted an Android HU. Time permitting I'm going to start pulling the centre console apart and fitting it early Friday afternoon (as well as repainting some of the interior panels). I jut hop I can find places to put all the wires.
  5. I've been putting BP's 97 in, but I'm going to try some Tesco Momentum 99 and see how I get on.
  6. They're pretty good for prices; thanks for the heads up. I'm going to be needing some new shoes soon, so is there any brand/type in particular that go well on Zeds? Reading reviews, it doesn't seem that the most premium tyres (Pirelli etc) are always the 'best' as plenty of people report good handling and economy with cheaper rubber. With previous cars it hasn't really been a consideration but with this I want to be able to go, stop and handle the way it should. The £110 Hankooks on Black Circles seemed the ticket, but that's a lot per tyre
  7. http://www.350z-uk.c...lacing-oe-bose/ I bookmarked it myself, just in case. The eBay seller got back to me and wants £60 for a kit that works with the Bose system and steering controls. That doesn't seem right so I think I'll order the £35 harness and buy more if required. Is the antenna adapter still required on later models with the Bose system?
  8. Thanks. I'll get the same lead if this eBay seller comes back with something more expensive.
  9. It's the Bose 6 CD. From what I can tell I NEED the adapter that costs a silly amount from everywhere. I've only just gotten the car so I'm not into gutting the whole stereo system yet.
  10. If you could link me to a steering control adapter I'd be grateful. I've looked at different places and they all seem to come up at the £35 range. An eBay seller is getting me a combined price for the Bose adapter and patch lead, but I can't imagine they'd sell the latter for £5.
  11. I've been looking at Android HUs and I think I'm going to go for one recommended by a user here. It's a bit more pricey but looks very nice and the seller is UK based. Does anybody know if a wiring loom ISO adapter is required in addition to the steering control harness? I obviously don't want to be purchasing more than I have to as the ISO loom adapter is around £30 and the steering control harness is £35. Thanks for the info about your issues; hopefully it will help dummies like me when I can get around to it.
  12. I was initially looking to get one of the cheaper head units (around £150), but now I'm thinking of spending £200+ (which I know is still not a huge amount) to get one of the Android HUs. The customization and update options available on Android are swaying me that way.
  13. Blue. Only had her a week so the paintwork needs touching up at some point in the future (when I'm feeling a little less broke).
  14. Some quick looking around seems to suggest that newer Android versions (probably 4.4 or above, but definitely 5.0 Lollipop) won't work with a 350z. My Motorola Moto G (2nd gen) wull connect but the car won't operate the phone. Again, some searching makes this seem a widespread issue.
  15. A previous owner has done this trick to my Bose unit and even disabled the tape desk mechanism. It wasn't working at first but the reset seems to have gotten it going. It's nice to have the feature until I get to replacing my head unit.
  16. I recently got my Zed and, handily, this thread is here answering my questions for me. So did you only need the steering control kit? Does a head unit like that fit without a fascia kit or anything? If so that's a bonus, but I would imagine I'd need the aerial adapter too.
