  1. Sorry if it seems I'm spamming the thread, just giving a few examples of what can be done. These were early projects with cheap (sign writing vinyl) a hair dryer, a blockbuster card, a couple Stanley blades. Only previous experience was youtube and a practice on my roof and bonnet
  2. Wrapping is actually a lot more simple than most people think. With the quality vinyl around now from the likes of 3M (1080 series for example) there are micro air channels on the adhesive side that help release bubbles so all it takes is a little patience and think before you act Some parts of the car can be a real pain eg. Mk1 escort with rivet on arches "yeah that's a tough cookie" I've seen many people on YouTube making a big deal out of wrapping doing one panel at a time. I'm no pro, I taught myself but I can do a whole side at once Without banging on much more a bonnet is really quite straight forward, I agree with most here though saving up for a real carbon bonnet is much better as the materials for wrapping would set you back around 100-150 for something decent anyways
  3. I would honestly first point at a wheel bearing. Drove my fathers focus recently and yeah the drone from the bearing is quite a loud hum when you get upto speed. Seems strange at only the 2.5k Rev mark though
  4. Maybe replying to the guy above may have helped
  5. That's exactly the ones I was talking about. Easy to hide the wiring as well
  6. Rather than a full respect it's worth while asking a mobile paint repair man to come and give an estimate. They can be quite handy and save a few quid I know it's a bit late now but that's a real bad way of tackling that task. Easier and much safer way is to get some fishing line (only nylon so won't damage the paint and it's cheap as chips) rest the line over the top between the badge and body and pull it back and fourth which will cut through the spongey adhesive. Once done roll most of it off with your finger then finish by using autoglym bug and far remover or similar (I have used others but prefer that) and that will soften and remove any of the last glue and residue. I debadge all my cars, I like a clean look and this works a treat every time
  7. You can actually buy and interior aerial. They mount on the inside at the top of the rear window usually. They are a thin bar and are very discreet Can be readily found on fleebay Not too expensive but it's best to go for a branded one in my personal opinion
  8. Plastidip can be done well if people take the time and effort to do so as there's plenty of options out there. I've done a few projects and that guy may as well have pulled out a paint tray, roller and a 10l tub of cheap emulsion
  9. Personally I think it's a case of better the devil you know. Miles are really nothing but a guide. You could get a car that's been real well looked after at 100k miles and drives a dream, the exact same car with 50k could of had a hard life with poor maintainance. In that instance i know which I would prefer.
  10. Anyone know if he's running decats? Maybe that's why its so raspy. I'm looking into single exhausts and quite like the agency power, I'm sure when I checked the tomei before that it wasn't as loud
  11. Other than the agency power what other single exhausts are there?
  12. Random question I know but what spoiler is that bud?
  13. Been looking around for a while and when I wasn't in the market for one there was a whole heap that took my fancy. Now that I'm getting to the stage where I've almost got the funds ready I can't find any that really stand out to me
  14. I must say there's been some awesome comments come up on this topic. I gathered the usual suspects would show their faces but was interested in the volume on each. Also to see if there was any places that popped up that I didn't think of. I am looking to spend around the 5k mark on one with a 1k buffer if something really takes my fancy or use that on the start of my shopping list
  15. I'm just curious as I'm window shopping until the end of the month. Where did you find your zed? Forum, local, dealer, auction, etc
  16. Awesomesauce, thanks for the replies and the welcomes people. Certainly cleared a few things up for me
  17. Not that I would be actually getting any of these cars pictured in just using them as a guide. The wheel pics: the one with the Rays seem to have the obvious brembo's gold calipers and although the other wheels (that look nasty) are not as open I would have thought that I would have been able to see the same calipers. The advert didn't state any supporting info either The headunit pics: both seem standard, one you can see buttons where as the other you can't. May just be under the panel or just a different unit. Is this an expensive option if the one I have hasn't got it?
  18. Thanks for the quick reply. I have a couple pics which explain what I was talking about in Abit more detail. Just want to check if I'm missing something
  19. Hi all, I'm new here, been on a few forums and started my own with a few friends a while back (local based rather than make/model club) Wanted to say hello and ask a couple random questions of I may Firstly what is actually included with the gt pack (this is what I'm going for due to brembo's mainly) I've seen a few people mention about a plenum spacer? What is the reason for this? Also seen that some z's have a screen in the centre console behind the cubby hatch and some of them seem to have buttons and a dial attached others just seem to be blank. Is this model based? Thanks in advance people
