  1. Ok people, I appriciate the input but I have to just clear a few things up here as things are going off topic a little. When posting the topic I asked for help in regards to if you know where I could look for a car that fits the criteria I stated. I fully understand what it costs to run and maintain a performance car as I have owned the keys to an r33 gtst, 2x newage wrx's, s2000, mr2 tubby, 2x ep3's along with a few run around's. Getting married was a huge hit in the bank balance and left me without a car to make sure everything was paid for. I'm in need of a car sooner rather than later so waiting a few months while I pull together another 3k isn't plausable. Buying a runaround for the meantime in my eyes is a false economy as the purchase of the car along with insurance, the couple fixes required on 99% of cheap car sales is just a no brainer. Finance is something a large amount of people do, there's nothing wrong with it and at the moment I fall into that box where that is a reasonable option for me. It doesn't mean I can't afford to own and run that kind of car, it will not spiral into a pit coming out looking like madmax has just been on a rally course. It just means I don't have full funds right this moment to go and buy the car privately or elsewhere. I apologise for the rant above but a lot of the posts are not actually in answer to what I have asked and are actually getting rather personal to be honest. So to finalise please if you know of anywhere or see a 350z that falls into the criteria please do let me know, it would be a great help. Many thanks
  2. thanks dugg, I will have another look at Midwest. I know he had a couple a few weeks back but will check if new stock is in
  3. Forgot to add that part :-/ I'm in South west London, although I don't mind going a distance for a nice car
  4. The essentials were for our wedding so couldn't really say no. Been down the road of modifying performance cars and well bitten by the bug. Have an r33, mr2 tubby, 2 wrx, s2000, 2 ep3 civics under my belt. So not really on a maintainance or modifying budget just can't really do without a car for another 3+ months while I pull together other funds to buy privately
  5. No, I have 2k cash and willing to do upto 5k finance over 2 years
  6. I'm sure there's a trader out there that has something that fits the bill, just started this thread to see if anyone knows of any maybe local to them that they have seen in a window or local trader adverts really. 7k for a 2005 350z sounds like more than a fair price to pay in my eyes
  7. The bank need a clean sheet for the last 6 months to give a loan out. Just got married so the account took a battering to say the least, had to sell the car for last minute "wife so called essentials" lol Unfortunately loans are a no go for a while, I would much prefer that approach it's just not an option for a few months at very least
  8. Can't really wait to save up the cash again as I am actually in need of a car, would prefer to go down the finance route rather than spending out on a boring hatch
  9. I have looked through most of the usual places I can think of (autotrader, ebay, gumtree) and it seems to be that if I want a roadster or or a cat d coupe (neither appeal to me in the slightest) then there's a fair choice. Only managed to find 2 coupes on my searches both were completly standard, close to 100k miles and nothing special.
  10. Ok so I'm looking to buy myself a zed, have been for a while. I was hoping to go down the private sales route and pay full in cash to which I was looking to spend around 5k give or take. Since getting close to my total the inevitable has happened and I've had to fork out sizeable chunk on (let's just say less enjoyable things) I'm now turning to paying part cash part finance on a traders car. my maximum is pretty much 7k now, obviously I don't want to have to spend it all if I don't have to. I've been looking on tradelinks website and can't find anything that either matches the bill or criteria, does anyone know of any others near them or on the net to point me in the direction of? My criteria: Must be a coupe Prefer black / Gunmetal Prefer UK Finance companies say it must be: 2005 or younger Under 100k miles (Don't know if that's all of them but that's what I've been told by who I've spoken to) Thanks for reading
  11. I'm going down the route of part cash part finance and its a real pain in the a**e 7k budget for a coupe, it's got to be no older than 10 years old and less than 100k miles. There's only 1 out there and I'm not impressed Seriously thinking about looking out for something else
  12. I find the comments rather funny. I started spraying a few small items with cans and then stepped up to full car projects. Cans > sprayer, there's a huge difference and now with all the new products there's a huge amount variations you can create Ok it's not for everyone, that's what makes us individual just as some people like loud exhausts and others like to be more OEM. In regards to starting a project and living with it below is a few things to know: It's quicker and easier than wrapping (I also wrap) The setup is pretty cheap, my personally fave gun is actually a garden spray gun (I can get the name) If your using a bright colour always always use a light base. Always mix 50/50 dip and thinners. Pearls, gloss, flips are more of a challenge (Get comfortable with using the product first) It's easy to repair if you do ever manage to damage / tear the dip (Pearls / flips again require a little finesse) When washing dip you have to use a soapy leather, don't let a microfibre anywhere near it otherwise you will be picking fluff off of it forever. Paint care products become limited. If your looking to use any split panel colours or graphics dip isn't for you. Dip can be expensive the more you get into the fancy finishes. You will use at least 10L of dip on a 350z personally I would consider going upto 15L. By experience sometimes a dip looks finished but it is actually real thin, a nice thick finish is a quality finish. A bunch of random info I know, it's just some things I could pull off the top of my head I will find some pictures from a couple of the projects I have done and post them up, if you want any further info feel free to send me a message
  13. Be careful with messing around with the actual springs as that is the preload and they are set by the factory as a standard pretty much, that side of things is generally quite in depth and not something I would get involved with myself. Ride hight, not a problem. An easy thing to do but always measure or mark and count complete or half turns Damping stiffness, most coilovers have this adjustment on the top of the shock itself, again use a mark and count complete or half turns. If none of the above seem to be doing you any great justice I have to say dropping into a decent tuning garage rather than your local to have a fast road setup applied with wheel alignment (while your there) is always well worth the money I don't mean to preach, I merely talk from personal mistake and a lesson learnt from it, I hope something there helps
  14. Courier wise take a look at Paisley frieght. They have prices already marked out in regards to certain car parts on site as well

  16. #84 Kuro black CA05 BXK Just thought I would add the info
  17. As said though you may be able to use a power pick up from the old aerial cables, just not had a look at it directly myself yet so unable to say for sure. It would be easier for sure but the above way is a back up just incase (noticed you needed it sorted soon)
  18. DC is direct current bud, if there isn't a remote cable to the last aerial (I don't know if the 350 has a power aerial capability) you will need to run one from the headunit as if you were installing a sub and amp setup. It will tell it when to power on and off Others may have other advice but that's the way I would do it just so I didn't risk walking out to a flat battery in the morning
  19. Yeah the silver ring is an earth. Look for a bolt of similar size nice and close, unscrew it and use a bit of sandpaper to make sure it actually touches the body rather than just the paint

    Single exhaust

I'm a huge fan of the single exhausts, I was looking at getting an agency power but then I stumbled across the tomei titanium system and I'm just in love.... No really I am lol I shall be picking it up when we PPP over to see the mrs family in July
  21. Just a case of shopping around bud You could no doubt also just go for the GTR vents in carbon and get a bodyshop to install them. Ok it's not quite a full carbon bonnet but if it's just a look your going for it could still work
  22. I know Tarmac now does the style of the one in the lower pic. The side loops are an optional fit (Me personally I'm not a fan of the side bits) but I have seen that used with a combo of spats that looks real nice
  23. Post a couple pics of how it looks now Obviously everyone will have their own taste but it will help them to see what your dealing with to advise the best they can Rather than a lip or a bumper remember you could think about spats and a carbon / black diffuser
