  1. Hey up you lot, running my Z now since late June and diligently putting in Super and I have noticed a definite increase in growl, whilst the car was having its two new front tyres today the system was given the once over and it's in remarkably good nick no splits or holes and both flexis are intact , is this just a result of the pipes being cleared a bit by the use of the correct octane fuel or could I have anothet expense on the horizon ?.
  2. My trusted garage guy said exactly the same when they serviced the car and yes I did get an I told you so when I ordered the replacenents
  3. sorry about the multi quote me phones playing up......doh
  4. It was and the same wheel , obviously as the tyres are directional etc the same tyre went back on the same side, fingers crossed its just the tyres It was exactly the tyre that was originally on the borked royally rim, the garage that fitted the wheels obviously did a visual check and as far as they could tell they where ok but hindsight is a fickle mistress and I wish to god Id had them replaced with the wheels, just hope to god that the wheel is ok.

  6. Its a 452 and no idea of age but had good tread left, they are the last remnants of the previous owner who judging by the state of the alloys that were fitted to my car ran them at far too low a pressure as all the old wheels looked like a shark had taken bites out of the rims.
  7. Just had a Falken sidewall give up on me and on my new wheels too.....OUCH......quick visual check the wheel isn't nibbled so it looks like all the air didn't escape until I was home, managed re-inflate but the inner sidewall is bulging all over the show and car drives like the wheels are going to fall off, so ordered two replacement's as I want the tread patterns to match and to be honest I don't trust the old tyre that's left, tyre place did a visual check and ran his fingers round the inner and outer rim and its all smooth s fingers crossed its just the tyres.
  8. There is one in another thread but more will only be forthcoming when I've had a chance to wash her and use my newly ordered poorboys rim wax so probably next week sometime.
  9. http://m.fastcar.co.uk/2012/01/12/what-is-offset-and-pcd/ There you go quite well described too
  10. That got your attention didn't it, on a serious note I would like to reiterate what many people on this forum and others have stated until they are blue in the face....if your looking to upgrade your wheels then MAKE SURE YOU BUY THE RIGHT OFFSETS ....it's a small thing but in the great scheme of things it's damned important , it means your new wheels fit correctly without shims / spigots / spacers et al and believe me when I tell you, YOU WILL THANK ME IN THE END ... Our beloved Z's are long legged GT cars...not racers ( though if you have a shed load of spare cash you can make it into one ) the difference of a wheel with correct offsets and one made to fit with one or more of the items listed above is simply mind blowing , my car is now such a beast and for the first time in four months of ownership ( see my other threads ) I finally get what a sweet handling drive our beloved Z's are and since having my correctly specked wheels fitted ( thanks Chris ) I haven't stopped smiling

  19. Hi guys, as a lot of you know I have had a recurring issue of serious vibration / skating at autobahn speeds, not ideal for a GT car, well it's finally been diagnosed correctly and it means I'm sort of in limbo with the car at the moment while it's hopefully sorted at no cost to myself. After having the hubs xrayed etc ( clean bill of health ) attention was turned to my Finichi Firenze wheels and tyres, all tyres are ok ( two rears are brand new ) rear wheels lasered and true , fronts lasered and .......ooer bloody hell !!!!!!!, the drivers side front Hub is warped and stress fractured spoke , basically the previous owner has binned my car big time, so don't have the love at the moment. Finichi are no more so can't source a replacement , now waiting for my dealer to come up with a replacement solution, any wheels won't be my choice but to be honest right now I could quite easily just walk away, currently either not driving or proceeding at 45mph I have pm'd quite a few members ref wheels for sale and thanks for your replies and patience as now a warranty claim I can't proceed without the dealers ok , so far I have sent them pims details but now I'm just waiting for there suggestions. Doug Will have 2 10.5 j 20 " Finichi rims for sale on ebay soon I hope and 1 9 j 20" in hyper silver ( wheels only )
  20. Yeah sort off thought it might , my Finichi rims are really hard to find a uk seller who might have the required info, the trader on here who used to sell them would appear to have gone bust ? Wait so please forgive me if im wrong, but you have the wheels already and you have the car? why not just got try bolting them up If only it was that easy..I alas cannot physically change a wheel , this is all part of my ongoing diagnostic of problems at Autobahn speeds, we are going to remove the spacers then if the wheels fit road test the car and send the spacers of for meturlurgical analysis , if they don't fit then we have to source some standard wheels to run the car while the same happens also to check it cures the issue, if mot it's steering arms etc etc. To be honest its doing my head in that I am no longer able to do stuff as back in the day I'm sure ut would have been sorted weeks ago. Thanks for all the help guys. Doug
