    MOT History

The potential buyer is from m3cutters. They have nightmares about subframes over there. He understands my explanation though. Just goes to to show it’s better to stick with garages that know our cars even for the basics like a mot. I can’t recommend Lockwood highly enough for anyone in the northwest. It’s always reassuring to see at least a zed or 2 in the car park when you leave yours with them. Really nice guys too.

    MOT History

The potential buyer is fine with it. It just made me mad. I can remember the idiot trying to explain to me that only roadsters have them for additional strengthening. I just looked at him like the idiot he was, asked for my keys and told him it was going to lockwoods. The idiot couldnt even even tell me which suspension arms I needed. Turned out to be the common banana arm issue. lockwoods replaced the banana arms and didn’t even give a advisory.

    MOT History

Can MOT history be changed if it’s factually incorrect? Someone who is interested in my car has done a MOT history check. It’s states my car had a “badly corroded subframe”. This is untrue and is down to a incompetent garage who I let mot test my car last year (mitsiland manchester). My car had the common surface rust on the W brace. I tried to explain to the idiots what it was, but they were clueless and incompetent with Z’s, so the car was taken to Lockwood and Greenwood in Ashton. They were great, very thorough and passed my car without a advisory. I would never use anyone else for maintaining a Nissan. Who if if anyone can I contact to have this amended? It’s really wound me up.
  8. I was going to price the car at £7000 towards the end of next month. Ive recently suffered a close bereavement and as a result I’m not as enthusiastic about getting my Z taxed and insured for summer as I usually am. Im open to sensible cash offers. Thanks.
  9. I have a 2016 xc60 d5 polestar as a daily. It’s a great car. 240bhp, economical, great spec and sounds ok for a diesel being a 5 cylinder. Would I own one out of warranty, not a chance. They go wrong and cost a fortune. All the things they put on to make them Euro compliant are too expensive and fragile.
  10. Diesels have had their day. They are too expensive to maintain. I read on a forum last night that it costs £2000 to replace the injectors on a 4 pot vw diesel. Which is £250 more than it would cost to replace the injectors on a Lamborghini engined s8 v10. Add in egr and dpf problems and they are a false economy.
  11. Totally unacceptable. You shouldn’t have to be careful getting in and out of a car.
  12. Sorry to hear that mate. Hopefully it will be nothing major or long lasting. Loads of minor conditions can cause dizzy spells. Ive had a really @*!# time over the last 5 years. Keep your chin up.
  13. Im not far off 40 myself. My daily is a Volvo
  14. You must be one of the many “mature” drivers Guess we were all young once. I had a nova 1.3 sr, so couldn’t get myself in that much trouble. But it had a Courtney tuning sticker, momo gear knob, magnex exhaust and mim alloys. Not forgetting my Rockford fosgate amp and sub, complete with homemade mdf rear parcel shelf for my 6x9 speakers. The good old old max power days.

    New Car!!

Best fwd hatch you can buy. Great cars. They also claim every spoiler, splitter and scoop is functional and not for show. 370z couldn’t keep up on track.
  16. Car will be back up for sale next month. If anyone is interested PM me.

    640d

Local councils will decide what they do with charges for ICE cars vans. That worries me greatly.
  18. That would make sense. I appreciate they they don’t pay out as much if the car is stolen or written off. ive always been of the opinion, that if the car has been repaired properly and has photos of the repairs and receipts for the parts. They aren’t a bad buy. Im just trying to work out how much less they should be worth. Some seem to advertise them for the same price as cars not on the register.
  19. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=3765063 This was the first link that popped up when I just put it into google. I read it on PistonHeads initially.
  20. I was aware that some insurance companies won’t insure repaired write offs. But I’ve just read that some that do insure them (Axa was the example), won’t pay out if the car is stolen or for damage caused by another driver. Seems weird to me. Has anyone had a cat c or d car? Thanks

    640d

A 640d is much easier to find so I might go that route. I prefer the 6 series to the 4 series and 4’s are prone to interior rattles. Id love a M4 though. This is is the only 640i I can find in my range. The miles and price are high imo. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F132418830932 My fear with the 640d is city centre bans and tax that might come in the near future.

That is another negative for the 640i. It's likely to lose more money too.
