I'm up for that - 5:30 in Winchester head up from there, should be in Oxford about 6AM so where is good to link up with @Flashback  ??

Service station is easiest just need to pick one :)

Cherwell Valley service station would be most practical I'd say.  So if the rest of us are meeting up at Holiday Inn High Wycombe it's about a forty minute drive.

When do you think you'd get there? Cherwell Valley Services, Northampton Rd, Ardley, Bicester OX27 7RD.

Over the next week longsh07 I will be offering the event to some of the other forums we work with.  It is therefore possible the day may be filled within a couple of weeks.  But I am happy to leave it open if there are spaces, up to a week before.  The only way to guarantee a place is to pay for it.  But I'll be more active with updates in the coming days/weeks so you will know what the situation is at any time.

How are things going with this Jo?  Do you need any deposits or anything?

  4. or a wheel refurbisher.. although by the time you pay for that you might be better just buying new arms off one of the traders.

It really is an easy job.

    1. Sand off with wet and dry (whilst wet), clean arms and let dry.
    2. Prime wait 20 mins prime again
    3. Let dry and go watch the tv
    4. Spray with matt black, wait 20 mins spray again
    5. Let dry and go watch the tv
    6. Turn over and spray the back
    7. Let dry and go watch the tv
    8. Refit

Horsham aren’t far from you, you should give them a call and book it in.

    I spoke to them.

For £500 they can do their "fix" but that leaves the immobiliser disabled and a light on the dash.

My mechanic is getting a quote for an ECU replacement so I should hear about that tomorrow.

The dealer who sold me the car said he would pay for the repair as it's still under warranty, I think my biggest struggle is going to be getting him to agree that spending over £1k for an ECU is the only solution.

Personally I wouldn't take my zed anywhere other than H-Dev as the guys are excellent.  I'm sure it wouldn't cost £500 to take a look and plug in just to check what they can see...and surely worth a try before chucking a grand at a new ECU.  Jez at Horsham runs an Engine Management school and knows the cars inside out.

If not Abbey are also excellent and not too far away.

    Hi Taybo & Flashback

I'm going to offer this date to other forums if there are no fellow Z'ers looking to join you - will get on that this week and update you.

On insurance – some take it out, some don’t – probably more that don’t.  It’s whatever gives you peace of mind but know that Health & Safety is our highest priority as is that you leave as you arrived.  We’re now in our 14th year and have worked with over 4,600 clients & have never had an incident in a client vehicle at Millbrook.  The instructor is sat alongside you when it is your turn for the exercises and an extra pair of eyes looking out for you both.  There could be other users in the proving ground on the day as we don’t have it exclusively – cost would be extreme if we did … but it is a professional working environment.  The facility isn’t like Silverstone/Donington etc. which is built with run off areas in mind, so other than the exclusive circuits (Steering Pad / Dynamics Pad / Mile Straight Apron) there isn’t run off areas to ‘fall into’ – but this is why we like it.  Training is progressive and you will be making incremental increases as you develop through the day.

    Hope this helps.

    KR

    Jo

Thanks Jo, that's really helpful.
