  1. I used to run...

    Five axis, 5AD, S5:F Wheels

    back: 22 offset, 10.5 wide, 295 30 r19

    front: 25 offset, 9.5 wide, 265 30 r19

I put 305 on the rear later and it was fine even lowered a tiny bit... until I changed tyre brand and then it rubbed, thus arches needed rolled. Worth remembering that different tyres have different shapes to them.

Everyone loved the steam roller look though :teeth:

Lovely look to them by the way husky!

  2. Ok so that answer the inset to offset thing - hooray to BobbyZ. :teeth:

@Jetpilot I think I have the Brake clearance covered as there are sysmbols that mean 'will clear brakes' on the catclogue, so I'll just look at the ones that say Z33 cleared.

but as for the disti, I spoke to Co-ordsport who are the master disti and what I got back wasn't very useful, they just said pick ones that fit! :help:

I was a bit surprised at that, but will give them one more try.

  3. Thanks for all the input guys, so really I should probably look at wider wheels and then work out the offset to go for based on that.

Dies anyone know how to work out what the offset is equivalent to inset which is what the Rays catalogue gives?

This is what I see and I'm finding confusing... http://www.part-box.com/images/rays/vrce28n10i.jpg

@Kyle I saw 19s on Google too and some US sites like Vivid racing, but coordsport are the UK master distributor and they are saying up to 18s only available.

@Paddy Yes they do look really nice! í ½í±í ½í¸€

  5. Hi Everyone,

I've finally managed to raid the piggy bank and be able to get some nice new wheels and I'm really in love with these Rays CE28N 10 spokes in Formula Silver with Diamond cut rim. It looks like they are available in a variety of 18 inch configs and I'm trying to get some help with what I should be getting.

    VRCE28N10.jpg

I have read the Idiots Guide to Wheels and Offset and think I get the general picture, but I'm really struggling with what sort of offset would be right for my zed. I use my car daily for work and so not really looking to lower it, so I'm guessing that the ET 20-25 range is about right?

What I'm thinking of is to maybe get a staggered set up of these with say 8.5" fronts and 9.5" rears, does this mean I need different offsets on each?

Then bearing that all in mind the Rays catalogues and sizing charts really confuse me as they start talking about Inset rather than offset and now I have no clue on how I should relate that bit and read the Rays charts. The wheels aren't cheap so I don't want to get it wrong at all.

Can anyone help me out at least to get a better idea of what I'd need, or how I can work this stuff out?

Really appreciate any advice as I'm a bit of a dummy when it comes to this stuff.

    Cheers! :D

  6. GSF have a 40% discount until tomorrow (21st Feb '16) that includes Bosch lambda sensors "cde40"

Sparkplugs.co.uk sell lambda sensors and have a spring promotion on "SPRING-PROMO-2016"

ðŸ‘ðŸ‘👠thanks very much, but will wait to have a few readings done as suggested before I change them.

  7. I would first check if you have any codes showing/CELs lambdas should show up if faulty, could equally be be the ECU coolant temp sensor causing it to drink fuel, out of interest just what sort of mileage are you getting?

Well usually I would get anywhere from 350 to 400 miles per tank if I'm being good to super good. Last week or so probably 290 miles, no real change in driving style.

  8. Hi all,

I was down where I got my exhaust done and they suggested replacing the lambda sensors for new OEM ones as my 350 seems to be drinking more fuel than normal the past few weeks.

Do you think this is a good idea and if so does anyone have experience of which to get? OEMs look like around 750 quid for a full replacement set. So are there any decent others or should it be genuine Nissan all the way?

  9. Thanks GM -

    Hi all,

Thanks very much for the initial advice, not sure I want to go slower though so what sort of % slower straight line and cornering are we talking about? Is this major or minimal? Also I know this may be a bit of a hard one to quantify but how much harsher a ride on wider tyres?

On the offset piece if I keep an offset of +30 like the original setup would this just mean a similar feel to the car?

The Michelin Pilots sound like a good idea as in my view tyres are the most important thing on the car as they are the only thing keeping you on the road, so money spent here must be good for you.

Clearly I need to do some more reading and probably PM Mitz, but this is helping me get some better formed ideas in my head first off. :)

It's unlikely you will notice a speed/acceleration difference at all imo.

I went from 18" Rays forged alloys which are very light weight to 19" Rota alloys which are heavier and carrying more weight with larger tyres as well. Honestly cannot notice a difference in acceleration although there will obviously be some difference. Neither do I find the ride harsher.

The offset is a difficult thing to advise you on as depending on the shape/style of alloy you want you may need to change this in order to clear your brake calipers or to prevent tyre rubbing.

If I was you I'd definitely send a PM to Mitz at the Cougar Store as he is much more experienced on this sort of thing to advise you.

good to get a subjective view on it. I'll defintiely give Mitz a PM and see where I get to.

  11. Hi there,

I'm pretty new to all the wheels stuff but I'm looking to get some 19" wheels for my 350z and was after some advice. I have a 350Z 54 plate GT pack in blue, which I think has 18" Touring V1 wheels. Looking at the standard specs on the 350z wiki that means I've got these on it: Front Size: 18x8.0 Offset: +30mm Weight: 26.56lbs Tire: 225/45-18 Rear Size: 18x8.0 Offset: +30mm Weight: 26.56lbs Tire: 245/45-18

I am thinking of buying Schmidt Gotham 19" wheels, but before I do I had a few questions that I'm hoping someone can answer for me. Firstly they are available in 19" x 8.5" all round or 19 x 8.5" front with 19 x 9.5" rears.

    1. If I had wider rears what difference would this make to the car? Would it understeer more or be about neutral to how it is as standard?
    2. If I went with an all roud 8.5" set up would it just be the same as driving the standard 18" wheels pretty much?

What tyres would be a good choice to go with the wheels, currently I'm running Bridgestone RE050A tyres, but RImstyle don't do these. So I was looking at the Yoko Advan Sport (V103) or the Michelin Supersports. What ones would be better? Do you think there would be better tyres out there for me?

Generally I drive the car for work on the motorway, but I like to make the most of the car when I see some curvier tarmac to have a bit of fun on.

Any help would be greatly received, I've read some of the wheel guides on offset, spacers, etc. but still not sure quite what sort of set up I should be getting.

    Cheers,

    Steve
