Well I might need to go and see Bob at the Z Shed - either that or a Chinese takeaway. I'm sure he said something about some springs and rolls...

It's probably easier for the customer to modify the end pieces surely? Otherwise you'll be in the difficult area of bodywork trying to get everything flat, corners correct etc. I wouldn't imagine anyone could complain as it's fairly reasonable to assume they'd need to adjust the end pieces themselves.
The issue is that the added "height" of the leather (and the thin foam beneath it) is preventing the end pieces of the plastics from sitting flush with each other when they're clamped back around the insert, because the insert itself is now about 4mm thicker than it was previously.
So what I need to do in future - should I do any more of these - is cut or file a step into the hidden ends of the insert so the leather will then end up sat at the same height as the original plastic. Does that make sense? I know what need to be done anyway
I think it looks great Si and reminds me we need to chat about mine. í ½í±

Thanks lads, I think I'm swaying with one of the Apple play touch screen ones. Not keen on the fold out ones but I can see how it would be practical. No need for AUX or even USB to be fair just need Bluetooth, I do like having a volume knob but then again the controls on the steering wheel play that role for me

Be aware that for Apple Play and Android Auto they plug in via a wire for display of apps & charging and BT for phone. So you will have a wire to plug in to still...

Hi Jez
Is there any way around the onboard memory issue on DE's?
Can this be done with an ECU upgrade Jez?
-
Awesome the thirteen it is then! Anyone else in? Can we get to 10 again?
-
Would you be up for doing this again later in the year Jez? 😀ðŸ‘

That would be 2 out of 5 already... What do you say Jez? 😎

Fair enough, I know they need to be hot and there's a risk etc. Expect I'll keep the stock ones in the garage somewhere as a just in case option.
Thanks GM...

Hi all just looking at finally getting some HFCs and probably going BERKs but there's a few others out there too. Are there any others recommended that will pass MOT as it's my daily driver?
If so what are the pros and cons of each?
Sorry probably been asked a million times...

I'm in Maidenhead in my blue z. There's a few more around nearby too couple of silvers and a blue in Windsor. Another silver in Maidenhead about a mile from me.

Hey Hans,
Ziet er goed uit.
Looking good, keep up the good work and I will see you at a meeting in the Netherlands.
Vast wel!
Looks a good clean well looked after car.
The North coast 500 looks really nice, you must have got the few days of the year Scotland is sunny
I think we were lucky... But I loved every minute, I want to go back.
Only thing that didn't like Scotland were my front tires. Hahaha!
Lol how did you manage that in 500 miles?

Metal polish and elbow grease buddy. You could send the throttle body to Mark to be done properly and the bonnet catch.
Well yeah I could do, but as they came from Mark last summer that would be a little lazy. I just need to spend a little effort...

Hey guys, I was doing a bit of cleaning yesterday just to tidy up the engine bay a bit and noticed a lot of crap on my nicely polished plenum.
Yes a couple of things that didn't really clean it up, so was thinking of using some Chemical Guys light metal polish that I have. Do you think it will be ok to use?
Here's a picture of the plenum as it is right now...

But yes the plastic fasteners to clip the hiding that the actual battery cover sits on.
Wrapping new exhaust
in Exhaust
Posted
Hey guys,
Following on from my visit to H-DEV last week I've decided that I need a new cat back system as well as my new Berks HFCs as the current custom exhaust would be restrictive.
Anyway everything is all ordered up and being happily made / shipped over so good news there.
I'm considering wrapping the whole thing (cats and new system for heat retention and probably better resistance to corrosion too). What are peoples thoughts on this?
If I do it should I also look at wrapping the exhaust manifold at some point / now? Might need to order up another roll or two of the heat wrap if so.
This is what I bought to do it... https://www.amazon.c...?ie=UTF8&psc=1.
