  1. Hey guys, I have posted before about a rattle from the engine, and discovered its the the clutch. This is a fairly normal so no worries there. Now when is car is warmed up and parked i can hear another rattle. This is with the clutch disengaged. It increases with the revs, and only makes a noise at a certain RPM (lower down). Its coming from the engine area. I asked my mechanic about it and he didn't seem to worried. Could this be a thrust bearing? Also my car is 57plate HR. and does't appear to have had the spark plugs changed. its currently on 34k. Should this be done asap? or at 50K?
  2. New regulator plus fitting was 280ish! (At Nissan)
  3. Most mornings i see A Black HR coupe pass me on the way to work. Anyone on here? I'm the grey HR roadster that waves and flashes!! haha
  4. I hope so . Its really stressful and gutting when you realise your roof doesn't work. Not helped by the dealers drawling at the prospect of screwing you . Its nice to find a genuine business that gives a @*!#.
  5. UPDATE. Roof fixed replaced the straps between second and third bar. Reattached the bent bit that holds the fabric down. Now works perfectly. £140. The rubber straps were £40 of that though. There called autotrim, located in ivybridge. Highly recommended.
  6. UPDATE. Had a chat with this guy in Plymouth. He runs Auto trim and has seen loads of 350z's in with roof problems. He couldn't say what it was without seeing it, but did say that the elastic straps above our heads need changing every 5 years, and when they weaken the roof may not retract property. Hence the material not folding correctly, hence the stressed metal. He thinks he can rivet the bent bar back into place (as mentioned above) Fingers crossed. I'll keep you all updated
  7. Hi zzzebady. my roof works completely fine until the last 6 inches or so. This has happened in the past when the temp has been cold. but not its happening in the hot now! I am able to put the roof back up so i am not completely stuck! If you look at my photos above, you will see the bent metal where the material is held. I believe this is what is causing the problem. I think this is obstructing it at the last bit of the closing. I have found someone with this problem, and he just bend the bits back and it worked fine, but im a bit anxious to just start bending bits back. I am going to take it to this specialist and let them have a good look at it. They will give it a good lubrication at the same time, and hopefully fix the bent metal. Nissan said that piece couldnt be replaced, i would need to replace the whole fabric roof if they couldnt fix it, which seem silly, as the roof is spotless.
  8. UPDATE. Right my roof isnt retracting at all now ive left it in the sun all morning and tried it again and its getting stuck on the last bit! Ive got the number of a convertible roof specialist in plymouth. He said they have done loads of roofs on zeds so fingers crossed! GUTTED!!
  9. Mine aren't as bad as the photos, but they are getting worse. Its the rivets that have bent not the bar. I could just bend them back. But I wouldn't want to snap them off completely. I chatted to a guy in Exeter dealership and he sounded like he know what he was talking about. He's had a zed himself. I've emailed him this too. The roof still works and is lubricated regularly. If the dealership can't help, who can? :/
  10. Hey guys. I'm starting to get worried. These photos are not mine, but this is precisely what is happening to my roof right now! Has anyone roadster owners had this problem? I've got it booked in to Nissan exeter next weekend! I believe this has happened when i have tried to put the roof down in the colder weather. Any advise or help would be much appreciated
  11. Id wait. These cars need to be serviced and looked after. If not it could lead to trouble. I doubt anyone would buy it without history.
  12. Cars only don't 30k. Its not going to blow up if I don't change them then? It looks to be a bit of a shitty job!
  13. Had my car serviced this week. Had its second p2 . With break fluid and coolant. All is well. I did notice the spark plugs haven't been changed yet. (Looking at the previous Nissan services) this should have been done at 5 years no? Should I be panicking and get them done asap. Or shall I wait till next service? How important is it?
  14. Lovely looking car! Welcome to the VIP HR club!
  15. I dont this this middle bar is part of the working roof, i think its more of a support. correct me if im wrong!
  16. I noticed the other day that the bar above my head looks different on one side that the other. when i looked i noticed that the metal strip that material is attached to has been bent! it doesn't effect the roof, which works fine. but im worried in case this is an issue i need to get sorted now! i have attached some photos. Has anyone else had this problem with their tops?
  17. Ill make sure next time. Like i said at least the rolling road wasn't a single drive, which is were the problem with the diff is apparently. He did show me the warning on screen and said the equipment they have is completely fine
  18. had a chat with them. they use a roller that spins both wheels at the same time. They said the problem is when only one wheel is tested! Im a little less worried now! oh and it passed.....anyone else had this problem?

Just taken my car in for an noticed they put it on the rolling road for the break test. This shouldn't happen right?
  20. Im taking my car for its first service next week. Its always been done by nissan, but i hear horror stories about their incompetence on a regular basis on here. Im taking it to a good local garage, who will stamp etc. My question is, should i be weary of anything? and should i advise them of what needs doing? or should they know? I've never needed a car servicing before so i'm not in the loop yet! Also does it look bad when i sell my zed that the fnsh has gone?
