  1. Did you have the same issue as me?
  2. I have noticed in the last month that my car is doing a few strange things. Firstly the Revs seem to have a little dip at the bottom of the rev range when I put my clutch in to stop the car, secondly the transmission doesn’t feel smooth when I’m engaging and disengaging the Excelerator (when cruising). I have attached my YouTube Video link so you can see what I mean about the revs. Thirdly my exhaust has just started blowing and I’m wondering if that would affect the revs?
  3. I currently have the HKS Super hybrid filters in my car. My question is how often do they need replacing? My mechanic said they don't need doing every year. I think I've had them in for two years now and they are looking a bit grubby. Does this matter or should i replace them? Whats the usual life of a none paper filter?
  4. I've noticed in the last few days that going into reverse is a bit of a job. Its very stiff! Why could this be? I had a new clutch and fly wheel last August and its been running great. Is this the start of something bad?
  5. What do you think of my paint job? Middle left button now not lighting up
  6. Can anyone check if the window lock button on the drivers side illuminates in the dark? I have recently resprayed the door handle and when putting all back together noticed it wasn't working (the light inside) but can't remember if it ever did?
  7. To cut a long story short me and my partner have broken up and I found myself in a situation which I could do with some advice on. Firstly everything everything is amicable and my ex is willing to do what is needed to resolve the situation. My ex partner bought a BMW X1 for around £12,000 3 months ago and I paid for this vehicle for them. They are paying me back over a three year period. I've spoken to a solicitor and they've advised me that because the repayments have started there would be no issue if it was taken to small claims because based on the fact there are regular repayments prove that it is not a gift but a loan. What I need advice on is - I want to transfer the vehicle into my name both as the registered keeper and the legal owner until such time as the loan has been repaid (to secure the asset from being sold or traded in). I'm going to write up a contract between me and my ex partner. My question is, what do you need to prove the legal owner of the vehicle? If you went and bought a car privately you would have a receipt showing what you bought but in this instance there would be no monetary transaction but purely a transfer of ownership do you think writing up an invoice like document would be enough coupled with the v5 change. secondly would this cause insuring issues for my ex partner if they didn't own the car? Does the person driving the car have to be the registered keeper? Hopefully one of you in a solicitor Thanks fellow zed brothers.
  8. I bought it brand new. But the mechanic seemed to think it was reconditioned. Not sure why? He said it was very common for clutches to be reconditioned and resold as new? I don't know much about that so can't really tell you any more!
  9. Thanks for that mate. I bought the Xtreme clutch kit of a good dealer so its the genuine thing. This kit also came with the internal slave. The car just feels different. Not bad, but i wanted to know if these differences are normal for a new clutch and lightened flywheel.
  10. Had the xtreme clutch kit fitted last week (HR) and I've got some questions that hopefully some people who've had after market clutches can help with. 1-clutch pedal feel buzzy when in really high revs. (I also have some metallic rattle when I lift off at high revs, I think it's the pedal) 2-seems to be slightly harder to get into the gears when in high revs. (More a gear box problem?) I've had a couple of crunches. 3-my mechanic said the clutch wasn't "brand new" but refurbished. Is this common when buying a new clutch? 4-the car generally sounds slightly different. Maybe a little bit more throaty in the exhaust. could this be that the engine is revving Freer with the lightened flywheel or could it be that there's a slight air leak? The car seems to be running well, and feels a tiny bit more powerful!
  11. Hi guys. So a week on and the idle issuers have cleared up. It seems the car does relearn over time. I have a couple of other questions regarding the new clutch which I'll move to a new chat! Thanks for your help!
  12. Well I'm not sure it's sorted yet! It's still blipping very low when I start it up! I'm going to drive it for a week and go from there. I must admit the car does sound slightly different since the new clutch. More grungy! I'm not sure if that's normal either!
  13. After doing a bit of research I think my idle issues are actually down to the fact I had my battery replaced. Prior to my car breaking down the battery was running down all the time and it ran flat when I did breakdown. The car has not stalled for the last two days when turning it on so I'm hoping that the idle relearn is relearning. The clutch actually feels really nice to drive despite it being slightly heavier than the previous one.
  14. I did, but I have no idea if I did it right. How do you know if you have done it correctly?
  15. My biggest fear is that the flywheel is misaligned and they have to drop the whole gearbox. any other problems can be relatively easily resolved. That said it would still be nice to know. I have done the idle relearn but the car is still idling low and stalling when I first start it up. I'm going to drive it until the start of next week and see if it improves if not I'm going to dump it back in with the mechanic and let him deal with it. Can i just clarify that a misallined flywheel will result in a badly running engine?
  16. Ah. Well my battery was knackered so that was also replaced! I'm wondering if it was that? The car is running well and the clutch feels great (heavier than before) I have done the idle relearn so I'm going to drive it for a while and see if it improves. If the flywheel was misallined would the car be driving badly?
  17. My mechanic said it was really difficult to misalign the flywheel as there was only one position it could go in. He seemed to think he definitely got it right but how can anybody be sure of that? God what a nightmare this is!
  18. Well I've had the car for 3.5 years with no problems, and after a clutch fit it's doing it. So it has to be something related. By prime you mean half twist the ignition for a sec?
  19. Got it! Reset done but still stalling on start up without a throttle blip!
  20. I can't see where the guide section is? I'm not sure about the throttle body tbh! The car seems to drive well though.
  21. Hi guys I had my new clutch fitted today and I've got a couple of small problems. Firstly my car is idling very low to the point where when I start it up it will idle so low it will stall. My mechanic has been looking around and seems to think that the car would relearn the correct idle amount. Has anybody had this problem when fitting a new clutch? I've fitted the Xtreme clutch kit. Mechanic did a smoke test to check for any leaks in the air system and there were none. Any help would be much appreciated.
  22. Yep, looks like its the internal CSC. Meaning a new clutch and fly wheel on top! I have been recommended the xtream Kit by the nice chap at Clarke Motorsport. Has anyone had this kit fitted?
  23. It's a HR. Common issue? is it a bit job?
  24. Just been recovered back to my house. Clutch isn't coming back up and I've got some sort of leakage from under the engine. Any ideas?
