  1. Similar reason I went for the Akebona brakes on the 350z (originally had the crappy JSpec brakes) and for an extra £150-200 they looked a lot better option than the brembos. So when are you expecting/hoping to have this up and running?
  2. I really like the look of those brakes, you are going to need them!
  3. Im thinking this was his plan all along........... JC sold the franchise to BBC and then "forces" himself out, which means that he is probably outside of contract (there were probably clauses that stopped him from leaving and starting another show, but if they sack him, its a different story) and can start another show. Which probably means that the BBC spent a load of license money on the franchise, which is now pretty much worthless!!!
  4. I agree, but I would happily use it as a daily its meant to be used
  5. I know a few that use R32 daily, same for R33..... budget wont stretch to R34 As I said, you will be constantly late, but you would always have a smile on your face My 240 has been in the shop longer than I have had it on the road, but still..... its a lifestyle choice, not a convenience choice
  6. I wonder if this is JCs way of getting the publicity away from the politicians for his announcement that he is running for PM
  7. Id give serious considerations to:- R32 GTR - will have change for mods 260z 2+2 - can be had for less than 15k, slower, but so much more entertaining to drive and you may always be late, but you will ALWAYS have a smile on your face!!!
  8. Unbelievable.... hes an internet sensation, like Magnus Walker (Porsches again). My all time inspiration! Whenever I see it I almost cry as I know what he is talking about or trying to accomplish. I just wish I was further down the line with the zed. I watch it ever month or so, just to make sure I am still on track in my head
  9. You must have seen this before (car and garage):- And the follow up (no garage, just the car and track):-
  10. Creating the ultimate garage Some good ones out there................
  11. It helps with the cooling of the brakes, GTR brakes are big and the car is heavy, so cooling foe the brakes is rather important.
  12. Car has performed rather well at Castle Combe and Thruxton.... the brake cooling especially! Could only partially fade the orange paint. Car is off to Sly soon, so will see what he says about it all, but have been hitting speeds above 150mph with no issues from the additional ducts While the car is at Slys place (yes, again, from this weekend):- -forge transmission cooler -steering wheel sent off for retrimming -manifold ported and painted -parts to be dipped (new gear paddles, steering wheel piece) -parts to be powder coated (manifold, brake cooling ducts) - crackle black similar to the forge coolant tank -remove the bonnet popup system (Im starting to do more and more track days and cones are becoming a BIG worry) Then once I am back from holiday, I will start looking for some nice 18" wheels to run as track wheels
  13. Unfortunately, I have very little footage (no cameras in the GTR or MX5), but Steve got some so will wait for him to upload GTR driveby - nice and quiet http://vid920.photobucket.com/albums/ad45/grahamcleverly/Events/2015/Thruxton/IMG_1320_zpsad1gbmv6.mp4 Mel in the MX5 - completely ignoring the braking zone (orange cone) and going foot flat through the corner in 3rd http://vid920.photob...zps6wg8cgfw.mp4 Porsche driveby http://vid920.photob...zpsnfiraaso.mp4
  14. What a 2nd half by Wales.... absolutely brilliant!! Next 2 games will be interesting!!
  15. Mel, Steve (fellow GTR owner) and I went down to Thruxton for a track day today.... Steve took the Porsche Cayman R, Mel took the MX5 and I took the GTR, GTR was purely to carry jerry cans, food, etc. Decided to get the GTR noise tested to see what it was at and can you see where this is going .................................... ........................................ the GTR passed the 90db limit, right on the limit, but it was a pass. So back into the office and paid for another car Track was very quiet, VERY fast and was absolutely awesome!! Had a fantastic day, sun came out just before lunch and it stayed sunny all day. GTR was immense on track, MPSS tyres seemed to struggle a little with the bumpy bits while foot flat in 4th, but still by far the fastest car there. Porsche handled bloody well all day, again MPSS tyres seemed to struggle a little on the bumpy sections and with a bit of understeer. MX5 is just a mental little thing..... its slow, wobbles about (still on stock suspension), but it just such great fun throwing about, foot flat through corners where others are braking Was foot flat in 4th for most of the track Mel had a really good day as well, really got to grips with the MX5 and was throwing it about rather well. Ended up spinning once before lunch and that was it. Steve managed 2 offs in 3 laps, running wide and onto the grass once and sideways, backwards on the grass the other time. This was in the MX5 and again foot flat in 4th gear We have some footage, which we will upload later
  16. I like that, but the GTR is red....
  17. I just soiled myself, that blue is beautiful. Has no one mentioned Midnight Purple II yet? No.... you are a complete ASS!!! That now makes it even harder to decide - midnight purple added ARRRRGGGG!!
  18. What are your 3 colours of choice? I will be going for matte black bumpers, fender mirrors, arch extenders, front bit under the bumper (no idea what its name is) and wheels.... Mine are:- -Standard silver -Devil Z blue -Gloss grey
  19. Thanks Im starting to become rather torn on colour and as much I want something different, I think the novelty will wear off. It will have the arch extenders, bumpers, fender mirrors all in black and I am giving serious thought to keeping it stock silver.
  20. Thanks Lack of patience is one of the big reasons why I am not doing the work
  21. Update - the car has been soda blasted and the guys have been progressing with the doors. In a couple of days I am off on holiday to South Africa for 5 weeks, so will be no updates during that time - but hopefully lots of progress
  22. ..... BTW, have you seen the world rankings after the weekend? NZ, RSA, Ire, Eng, Wal, Oz, Fra I can't recall the last time 3 home nations were in the top 5... hopefully it's a sign of how the gap between North and South is closing. I would say wait and see what happens at the RWC.... the divide is still there, all are gunning for the title and someone has to beat NZ to win it!!!
  23. Im hoping for Wales to some how do it, but I think you will be right!
