  1. I was thinking more like Scotland or Wales... drone footage... I actually have a cheap drone with a video camera on it, although I doubt I could keep up with you driving that thing, ...hard enough keeping it in the air sometimes let alone following something else that's moving. Really?? It will be wheel spinning everywhere....
  2. Completely unusable in this country.... too many potholes, fuel bill will be silly, LHD, etc.... hope you survive long enough to buy another GTR and its convertible..................... Saw a couple of them at Spa when I was there last, sound amazing and once they got traction, seemed to go quite well.
  3. one of my favourite tracks will be there again later in the year
  4. A couple of friends and I are going down to Thruxton for this track day. I will be running the MX5 its first track day since it got the supercharger Anyone else attending?
  5. No thanks, that means I'd pay much more. I like the system as it is Correct. The 40 year rule is now rolling onwards. That's the worst thing that could happen! Who do you think would then have to make up for the lost revenue to the coffers? Either electric cars would have to be taxed as normal, or they'd have to massively raise the cost of VED on ICE cars to cover it. That £500 could well become £1K or £2K in the blink of an eye. Technically it is already at 2k.... a new GTR is 2k for the first initial registration and then drops back down to £500
  6. Congrats and welcome to the club! Quite a members club, with lots of events and GTR.co.uk has a lot of good information about these cars (if you havent found that already). Where are you based?
  7. ford v8 pickup truck with a supercharger
  8. would have to be.... Eleanor?
  9. Need someone to duplicate that front bumper..... so want that on my car!
  10. Saw this over the weekend while I was at Nurburgring, got to do a very cool parade lap (10:50 ) and the frontend looks awesome!!! New Nissan GT-R NISMO | PistonHeads
  11. I dont believe it was the format that worked that well, it was the presenters. The problem is that the BBC bought the TopGear rights at a silly figure and now the key presenters have moved on. But hey ho, thats just my opinion
  12. Not 100% but it was the limited and its 2 door, so is that the type R instead of type RA? He works on the boats, so asked me to source the car for him, 1 owner, 40k miles, absolutely love condition, mild mods. Its now fully caged, wide-bodied and a rally car (has competed in Poland). Nice.... I only have printed photos of my 2000 WRX I had in South Africa.... 1 of about 20 in the country. Then had a white sti wagon here and finally the "bug". Yeah that'll be it then Graham, should be a "version 5 Impreza WRX STi type R V-Limited" if I'm right. My mates is the same almost but it's the "type RA" which has 5 doors. Did have a love-hate relationship with my old Impreza unfortunately Graham. Loved it when it was running, ...hated it when it wasn't. Tbh I did have a lot of bad luck with things going wrong on that car but I bought it with no history as it was a Japanese import & even though I checked it over as best I could some things I or anyone for that matter could not have foreseen. Like the oil pump failing & killing the engine within my first month of ownership or the gearbox destroying itself internally at the drop of a hat! Its a lovely car Out of the 3 I have had, I have had no major issues.... no engine builds, etc. Leaky shocks and fuel pump issues were the worst.
  13. unless they are all controlled by the BBC dictating what can or cannot be done.
  14. Really...... James May naked in a Aston Martin race car makes me shudder
  15. I need to look at some availability of track days, I live in Coulsdon not too far from Yourself think if I remember correctly? I would love to come and see your collection of cars sometime, when have you got a track day planned? I used to..... have since moved into the city and the car are dotted all over the place Looking to do a track day in the MX5 on 24th June at Thruxton (will only have the MX5 on track, but should have the GTR there as a support vehicle) and then over to Goodwood for FoS on the Sunday.
  16. The adjustment of the coilovers on my MX5 has actually added to it all.... I can really get the backend lively or it can be set to keep it relatively tame. Looking forward to your progress. When you taking it on track? Which track?
  17. Really hoping for this to be done by end of June.... just waiting for the new loom to be done and then we can progress with putting it back together.
  18. So you believe that the "regurgitated stuff" is the trio rather than the BBC?!? Im of the belief that its the other way around and it was the BBC that kept forcing it. Either way, looking forward to having 2 car shows
  19. It was quite a bit laggy, had a new turbo to go on that would have changed it all. A friend drove it once and he managed to rip the bolt out of a sub-box (only 1 bolt and easy to remove for track) while going round a round-about trying to keep up with the GTR.... great little car and absolutely fantastic in the snow!! Up and down hills when everyone else was crashing into hedges and pavements and got my up my old driveway (rather steep) with no hassles.... GTR was just swinging its fat ass left and right, nearly ended up in the hedge. Graham the Sti you bought for a friend, ...is that a JDM WRX Sti V-Limited Type RA? The reason I ask is that is the model Subaru my mate has which is running big numbers. Oh & since we're all pic whoring our old Subarus, ...here's my96 JDM WRX classic Impreza. Hope you don't mind Darryl.
  20. I will give it a go as well, but I am not a fan of Chris Evans. I dont think that much of Chris Harris as a presenter, I find his YouTube stuff very boring..... I just really hope it doesnt end up being another 5th Gear, watched that over the weekend and WOW they are boring!
  21. I had a bugeye STi which I really really like....... 390hp, stripped, caged, r888, lots of suspension and brake stuff done.... then came the GTR. I liked the bugeye, because it actually felt like a real car compared to the classic (yes, have had a few of those as well). Things like the doors closing, less wind noise, etc. Also as said, it was different to most of the others around. My old STi with a STi I bought for a friend Oddly, I have always preferred the bugeye wagons
  22. Looks good..... sounds like the MX5, great to drive, but seriously underpowered..... SC is good fun cant wait for the first track day.
