  1. Thanks mate I've mentioned both and CS are more than happy for me to pass their number on which is really good of them.
  2. OK guys, here's the update: (**big sigh**) Firstly, a massive thanks to CS for taking the time to look at it today - really appreciated it, fantastic people and some excellent advice. The problem could be cams which seems to be due to engine wear beyond the mileage. I've not got a very mechanical brain so my description is rather poor! Very expensive basically! I was advised to get in touch with the garage I purchased it from and explain what has happened. I contacted them today and they are going to look at it themselves on Thursday. What I want to know is where I stand legally. I've barely driven the car in the time I've owned it. I do have a warranty but it is parts only. So bearing in mind this kind of wear and tear doesn't happen overnight, and admitting I missed it when purchasing, should I be paying for a repair of this kind? That is if a repair is feasible? I'm guessing labour costs for a repair like this can be astronomical. Cheers guys.
  3. I had a 1.1 s reg 106 as an inbetween cheap car not so long ago and I will say this. In your zed you have to drive pretty fast & hard to be on the edge, in the 106 its always on the edge of performance mainly because it has none. I'm ashamed to say I actually enjoyed it, you can thrash it and still get 900mpg. Some may think being on the edge of a cars limit is pretty dangerous. E.g. I drove it through some welsh roads in traffic at the 60 limit when a sharpish long off camber coner approached. Everyone else took it no problem, the 106 lent over and understeered and it took a lot of skill to stay on my side of the road... thrilling stuff! I believe I have you convinced?
  4. I saw this thread and ordered mine the other day, brilliant idea. I told the missus about and she mentioned something about glossybox. A similar thing but with makeup, I told her that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard....... heh heh
  5. I clayed mine for the first time last week (used the autoglym kit) and it's amazing. As already said you will start stroking it every time you get in and out!
  6. It's easy mate, the two rear side panels pull off and then so does the whole piece covering the speakers. You'll need to take the two storage boxes out which is simple enough, just put your hand in palm facing upwards, lift and pull out. Its a bit awkward overall and I managed to cut my hands quite a lot but that's just me! You'll then need to snip the old speaker connector off and wire your new ones in. Took me about an hour or so. If you need any further help, let me know and I'll try to explain the best I can
  7. Mine kept doing this and stalled most times, cleaned the throttle body with a carb cleaner and it hasn't happened since!
  8. We velcro the camera under chopper at about 30 deg looking down, so we may change that with the new shrink wrap to about 25 deg. I think he means on the key fob will Lol yer. Looking at the pic on ebay I cant tell where is it?
  9. Stupid question, but where's the camera lens??
  10. Same here, still learning! I like driving in the rain now keeps me on my toes
  11. Swopped a vectra sri diesel for mine does that count?? Otherwise a mk4 Astra GSI but I still have that, its my little pocket rocket Owned it nearly 5 years and never had a problem with it (touch wood). Use to think the suspension was quite hard and sporty until I bought the zed
  12. PM Lincolnbaggie, I'm sure he has one of these
  13. Dude, my a$$ would be grass if I wrote a thread about my wife calling her a bell end... lol.
  14. Very true, just got a step closer though with the air con button courtesy of Lincolnbaggie
  15. That's good news (Not talking about footie after the weekend ) I might be quiet after tonight.... or we could be top of the league... hhhhmmmm. And as I type the post arrives! Woo, give me something to do on my lunch break thanks again!!
  16. Cheers guys, feeling better about it already
  17. Actually mate I've just had a txt from my trusty postie that its in the post this morning Thats something I should have mentioned above-my air con button was missing (I thought it would be a quick ebay job...) and Lincolnbaggie had a spare gear surround with buttons, so he very kindly sent me the air con button for free. Top bloke, not bad for an albion fan thanks again!
  18. Whoops I fall guilty of that Ewan. I've been so grateful at all the help though, real good bunch of guys who can't do enough to help. I'll definately be an active member for a long time though

  21. I went on the saturday, we were going to come on the sunday in the convoy but we couldn't make it looked epic as well!
  22. ...and what an emotional roller coaster it's been! (Still is) Sadly, I'm yet to fully enjoy it When we first picked it up we couldn't stop smiling, it's by far the best car we've ever owned (me and the wifey). I never really gave it the full beans as its the first rear wheel drive car Ive owned so I actually took it pretty steady the first couple of days (plus the wifes up before me so she kept robbing it for work!). When we got it home the stereo wouldn't stop making a whirling noise which wouldn't stop even when they keys were out (first annoying thing) No big deal though, I took it out as I wanted my own in anyway. Then the engine began to cut out. So I joined this website for advice. Turns out it was a dirty throttle body, which is pretty minor (second annoying thing). Then The passenger window started to jam which I found was actually quite a common problem with the motors getting dirty, again no biggie but annoying. And then I noticed I had a slow puncture when washing.... not going well so far. All minor things that add up to give me one big headache! I was finally beginning to enjoy the car and really looking forward to modding it and making it my own when the engine started making a concerning noise... just my luck. So I took it to zedfest and met a few of the guys, really helpful and friendly people. They all had a listen and offered their advice. I got in touch with a few guys on here and found CS to be the nearest specialist to me who have been really helpful, it's currently booked in with them so fingers crossed it's nothing major So bottom line, I can't wait for it to be sorted and then I can start spending money on it in a good way
  23. I've changed my oil and the noise is still there. Definately seems to be louder when accelerating. Can anybody help? I'm not very technical so I have no idea what this could be. Oil level/temp/pressure is fine and the car drives fine and idles smoothly with no unusual noise. Please help, I'm dying to start modding my zed and make it my own. I don't trust any local garages and have been told not to take it to nissan...
  24. (Stile Cop to be precise) Had my first flash from this dude yesterday around 5pm.(im a new 350 owner ) I was so chuffed I washed my windscreen at him.. D'oh, import lol
