Popped over to the uncles today to have a look at his 991 that he has owned for about 6 months now but only managed to do about 200 miles in it before Porsche took it back from him due to the engine problems that were being investigated. Anyway it's back with a new engine so today we went for a drive. First thoughts.... Wow the box is amazing. Very quick shifts. Even when Porsche have given strict instructions not to go past the 7k run in limit for 1000 miles it is a seriously quick car. Compared to his previous 997 gt3 this defiantly feels more alive. Obviously at this stage it's still a new engine so will loosen up with miles. It's official! I'm going to spa in the zed in September 8th -9th on a two day trackday even though I'm only doing one of the days on track in the zed. Leaving on the Sunday evening in a convoy with the following; M3 x2 991 gt3 997 gts Mclaren 650s Lotus exige 964 Ferrari 458 997 gt3 Megane r26r 996 turbo Lotus evora. As you can tell I'm pretty excited about it. This will be the first track day I've done in the zed, done 3 before in my previous track s14a also uncles 997 gt3 which has now been replaced with the engineless 991 gt3 in the list above! Obviously as my zed is standard I will be careful, I'm running spacers at the moment is it going to be worth taking them off for the trackday as although it makes the car look better I don't feel she feels as nimble with them on. I'm running 0-40 motul oil, standard diff and gearbox oils + coolant. Motul dot 4 brake fluid, I also need to get my clutch fluid flushed with high temp stuff. Good morning fellow zed friends, today as I was changing my front pads I noticed both banana arm bushes were split and on the way out. What are my options... On our way to Milton Keynes today came across a tvr tuscan s which sounded amazing! Very nice looking cars! Had pistonheads stickers on various panels. Could hear it over the zed everywhere. Anyway we came onto a couple of empty dual carriageways together and I was quite surprised at the outcome.... The zed was holding onto it very well, I expected to just be left in its dust!
