Got my international A license. Nearly there... I've seen cars doing stoppies during races when they brake hard. Had a little giggle to myself when I watched the replay back and saw an evo VI RS doing a stoppy on tarmac. I thought thats a laugh, they come with gravel brakes as standard, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't do that in real life. All the cars seem to brake too hard and dive like hell. They need to sort the AI out so the cars are accelerated and braked properly, as well as following the best line. That might actually make them faster and more challenging to beat too cos lets be honest, it's not exactly hard to win races is it, provided you don't go off the track. I loved GT5 and played it endlessly, and soo looked forward to 6, but whilst its better in some areas, its worse in others. And theres no feeling of having worked for it. I just bought in game credits and the entire car library is available. I had to earn my 450 cars in GT5 over three years of drift trials and A-Spec career wins. It's a shame they've pandered to the impatient by making the whole lot available from the outset. There's nothing to work towards. 6 will be short lived anyway. 7 will come out on the PS4 before Christmas, I reckon.

My battery died yesterday too. Popped a new one in. Brumm! Phew.

You don't need it if you've had a remap, or if you don't want to be able to dial in the throttle response to suit you. But me, personally, having gone an extra couple of inches wider on the rear tyres, appreciate the ability to tweak the throttle opening up a bit. Why do Abbey, Horsham, uprev tuners on the whole bother to pepp up the throttle response during the uprev remap if it's a totally worthless placebo?

As long as it worked on the missus mate. Nice choice of rims too. I went for the matte bronze on my grey car. Had the get the rear arches rolled mind, to fit the 19x10.5 rears. The tyres were catching on the inside edge of the lip on big hits. I only run 1 degree negative camber on the rear to increase the contact patch for road use and improve tyre wear. At least I'm not running around with spacers, wondering if my wheels are gonna fall off today or not though. Running Tein springs on mine so not massively low and its quite close but doesn't catch with 1.5 degree's all round, Yeah, you're running an extra half a degree - that'll be enough to miss the arch lip, sweet. The front ones are rolled up as standard. Shame they didn't do the rears in the factory too really. I brought the alignment back in to factory ranges with adjustable camber arms and had wheels galore near CS do the alignment to my specs designed by repeated virtual tuning on gran turismo 5. I later had bilstein B8's fitted to compliment the Eibach Pro Kit springs already on it. Adding the dampers to the springs made a fantastic difference. I hit up CS for the parts and the work done on my car. They're a great garage. We put the Eibach ARB's on too, which are also great but be aware that the standard drop links will start creaking so if you upgrade dampers and arb's, you'd probably need drop links too, plus a couple poly bushes here and there potentially. I'd recommend it though, and CS very highly. I won't take my car anywhere else. The mechanic Andy has 3 rotaries (my favourite cars of all). If he's that much of a glutton for punishment, he can work on my car any day.

Was going to leave this, but seeing as you seem to have a bit of a chip ......... a throttle controller makes absolutely no different to the performance of the car, a remap will make a very noticeable difference, youre comparing apples and screwdrivers. Id fancy my chances against any 300lb/ft WRX as well, tracktime has seen that the 350 is actually pretty rapid considering its power to weight. You're absolutely right - throttle controllers make no difference to top end power, and that is felt as the revs near the red line. All they do is open the throttle body faster relative to how much you're pressed the pedal down. It makes the car accelerate more aggressively with the same amount of pedal input - a characteristic I found most welcome. I think they also allow wide open throttle in the first 3 gears - something also promised by the uprev remap, but I'm willing to be wrong on that one. I think there's been a slight misunderstanding. I wasn't (in my mind anyway) comparing a remap to a throttle controller in terms of function or outcomes, rather just comparing the amount of fun to be had out of money spent. For me, the 7-step throttle controller was money very well spent. I also said I will remap the car once my mods are done. As you will see, I have a milltek on the car but no cat upgrade yet, hence have not remapped it. I also use the car more in the longer days than in the winter when the air is warmer - another reason for my waiting to remap it. At the end of the day, the choice is down to the consumer. I'm not selling anything here. Just offering my personal experiences with the controller. Accusing me of having a chip was a nice touch - I particularly enjoyed that. Good luck with going up against a 1240kg 300ft/lb 4wd WRX, you'll need it. I don't need convincing of a 350Z's performance merits. Lets not forget "we're on the same side". I bought one based upon my fondness of nissan rwd vehicles, the relative mechanical simplicity to turbo charged silvias and skylines, and the gear ratios. That said, with the ride height and wheel fitment sorted, it ain't a bad looker either.

Really? Thats interesting cos my car really came alive on SP4 and it just keeps getting more and more mental from there up. it's much easier to initiate 2nd gear drifts on sp4 too. I have the version 2. Maybe that makes a difference. Put it this way, there's no way I'd bin mine. You can still remap with them on. There's a bypass mode I guess they use, or else they just leave the throttle response standard and leave it to you to adjust on the controller? Jez would be able to answer that, I don't know for sure. I don't know why its called a 7-Drive, when there's 5 eco modes and 9 sport modes? LOL

They are the best money I've thrown at my car my friend, and I personally, wouldn't dream of not having one on a zed. Fitting wise, yes, they are easy. The only thing to look out for is the weird looking plugs on the throttle cable that you have to connect together in what looks like an "upside down" fashion. This is so you can thread a zip tie all the way around to keep it all together. There's a little setup procedure you have to do to calibrate the pedal, and worst cast scenario, you need to do an ecu reset to get rid of the check engine light that comes on if the ecu logs a throttle sensor error (usually as a result of plugging and unplugging the throttle plugs before realising they go together "upside down" as I mentioned. No biggy tho. google is your friend re: ecu reset if necessary. I'd recommend unplugging the negative on your battery and waiting an hour before you start. It is easy though. Jez at Horsham is where I obtained mine.

Yeah, absolutely. There's nowhere to put it in your profile, so it's signature or not at all - and wheres the fun in that? I've been changing it lately to try and get it right. It looked longer that it was due to the line spacing. Sorted now anyways.

So when is the best time to remap? Oh that's right, once all the mods are on. I'm obviously not quite ready yet. I'll get it dyno'd mate, just not for any naively anticipated power gains thats all. I am well aware of the other advantages/necessity for it. As you can see my modifications mainly focus on suspension and brake improvements. The engine oriented ones were already on the car. If I wanted ultimate power I'd have bought an R32 GTR instead and remapped that. Gained an extra 2mpg did you? Well done. That was definitely £400 quid well spent mate. Nice one. I lost 2mpg when I changed from Avons to Falkens, so you're actually 4mpg better off than me. Blimey, how stupid do I feel now, eh?
-
Nice one. I wonder if I can get a Bentley Speed 8 race car down to 450pp. Doubt it. You may be onto something there mate. I don't see it as cheating at all. 450pp is 450pp. Gran Turismo doesn't really permit cheating as such.

TVR? TVR?

It'll take a VXR too. LOL ...and still comes in 20K cheaper.

I remember the days when the VXR and Focus ST's started to meet the performance of my then tuned JDM Import WRX, which had 300 ft/lb @ 1.2bar. I wouldn't get into it with them then, and I definitely wouldn't get into it with them in a zed. The zed, as much as I love mine, is not that quick a car. That said, like the WRX, it's cheap, and unlike the VXR and Focus, is RWD, and it also looks nice (if that's important to you). Nice® if its kitted, but watch adding extra weight. If you want a great, cheap performance mod, you can't go wrong with the £120 D1 Spec throttle controller. 9 increasingly aggressive throttle response settings, that unlike a remap (meh to remapping a zed), you will notice. big time. And before the remapper brigade jump on me, I'll say it again "£120".

We've had the wettest winter on record. Every morning I leave the house in anticipation of taking the Z to work, then think "I aint putting miles on the Z in this s--t" when I look at the weather and soluble salt on the roads. Many tuner cars don't survive bad winters. There's no good reason to own a sports car other than for fun, and it's been no fun this winter I can tell you. personally, it means my modding programme continues in anger due to the fuel cost savings....

I bought a Samsung Note 10.1 2014 Edition tablet and it came with a complimentary upgrade of a whopping 45GB of Dropbox space. An advert and link to my dropbox referral url on facebook and I gained another 7GB on top from various friends who took it up. Dropbox tells you all the things you can do to earn more space - just linking additional devices to it will get you 500Mb a time (i think). Then connecting facebook and twitter is another 500Mb each, and send them some feedback for another 125MB etc. https://www.dropbox.com/getspace

I've made a note of the challenges and will post my times up once i've done them. What's everyones best nurburgring nordschleife lap time (clean enough to be recorded) in any car?

Hiya fellow Z owners and GT6 racers. Feel free to add me cyberfella on PSN. I'll see how I stack up against you guys. I'm more into the drifting than the racing, but have done a fair bit of racing on GT5 and GT6, so am keen to join in. Could even have an added challenge of how many drift points around tsukuba in a Z. say, with no engine tuning restrictions but with tyres restricted to comfort soft or less. just a suggestion.

Motordyne 5/16 plenum spacer install. Did it myself. Properly. Using my new Britool 20-100 inch-lbs torque wrench. 180 quid on the spacer - 90 quid on the tool to torque it down properly. Proper job. LOL
-
probably get patched though. There's an update already, with more to follow. It's to be expected tbh.

Mines at home ready to be installed later and updated overnight. I also have two free DLC's (torque and precision packs) plus a million free in game credits. Can't wait to buy a zed, lock the diff and start sliding around the new tracks. I've kept up with all the developments and improvements in the new game of which there are LOADS. Faster menu loading and track loading times, plus you can choose a different name to your PSN name if you want, which is a nice touch. It's an all new suspension and handling model thanks to work done in collaboration with KW and Yokohama. Plus there's a new smartphone app coming which uses your GPS to plot any road you've driven within a 20x20km square area that you'll then be able to load into the games Course Maker. Yeah that's right - "It was as if a million forza fan boys suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced." The manual here is worth a quick read... http://www.gran-turi.../gb/gt6/manual/ Add me (cyberfella on PSN) if you fancy hooking up online some time for a race / tandem drift.

Watch this and try not to cry. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0397313/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 And for anyone wondering if he was a good guy or not, read this. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2518156/Paul-Walker-secretly-bought-Iraq-war-veteran-9-000-wedding-ring.html He was a huge Nissan fan. I will miss him on the screen. RIP to the pair of them. My heart bleeds for his parents and 15 year old daughter Meadow.

I have one of these (see link below) still to fit after recently having my front bumper re-sprayed (excellent work done by Autotek in Cromford) and waiting for the paint to fully harden. http://www.hzaltezza...-fiber-lip.html It's carbon over FRP, then gloss finished, so it looks quite stunning (on the outside). I've furthermore plasti-dip sprayed the inside of the splitter to give it a slightly less harsh surface to ultimately offer up to my freshly painted bumper. My question is this? To call it a tight fit would be an understatement. Any fitting tips from anyone in the trade? Having spoken to HZALTEZZA on facebook, the trick is to use two people, start at the front centre, as low as possible, and work up, and clip the two sides around simultaneously. use tiger seal in the centre, and screw/bolt through the sides in the arches. if you dont use tiger seal, the underside of the splitter can be clipped to the undertray. thanks HZ!

I'm looking to get my rear arches rolled up. I'm sure the new 10.5 Rota Grids are banging the lip in "extreme circumstances". I've emailed Adam at arch enemy who supposedly covers the Derby area.
