It was horrible this year(Excluding the engine issue), too many cars, too many people driving like the GTR owner, no clue of their surroundings, track was awful from the previous drifters. What's wrong with drifters eh?

Prime example is formula drift. The guys who run around like blue arsed flies with engines being replaced over the weekends are the ones running 2JZ's, VQ's, SR20's. the V8 guys may have problems, but way less of them, until they start throwing nitrous and chargers on engines which didn't have them from factory

Brand new crate V8 > anything modified. It always will be. Ok, a V8 with 100,000 miles will be less reliable, but an engine running standard power will be more reliable than an engine tuned to the limit. Regardless of forged internals etc pushing a vq to 500bhp will be more risky than leaving a 500bhp engine alone. This is part of what bizz was saying the night before trax.

Unlikely to be any decent shows around that time as most decent show cars get removed from the road in the winter and most motorsport cars get rebuilt over the winter. I'm sure there will be some decent meets though. Early December there's the fueltopia toy run which is basically giving toys to sick children, but having a drive and a look at good cars at the same time

And when getting the wheels off the ground, don't leave the suspension hanging as I believe it's not good for it? Ideally you want to take the wheels off and put them on a rack supported through the centre, so you don't have weight on the tyres

It was good, but my inexperience showed as I wasn't able to adjust to the constantly changing conditions fast enough. I was on the back hand all day and didn't make top 16 unfortunately. There was lots of people going into the gravel all day, some multiple times in a few places, luckily I only went in once!

Timeline of events... Arrive at Driftcup to rain of Biblical proportions. Track is wet: Spend the morning trying to get the balls to initiate the drift before this lake to get the correct line. Decide that I need to initiate about 1/3 faster to get the correct amount of speed scrubbed off... Get to here before I realise that the puddle is now only a mm or so deep and I just went into the corner 1/3 faster than I should have done... I use 5w40 as well I use some Shell stuff which is designed for ferrari's, it's probably rubbish, but it comes in a cool bottle
