  1. I do not want to stretch tyres again; ruins the ride and rims (IMO). So in answer to your question....maybe flush.
  2. Hi All, I am considering a new set of wheels; fancy a change. Maybe some Work's...M1R Would somebody be able to ease my concerns or offer assistance surrounding the dreaded offsets; I believe the following specs should fit? Front 19 x 9.5J +ET20 with a 245 tyre Rear 19x 10.5J +ET20 with a 275 tyre. I am after an aggressive yet realistic set up. The Zed has had a number of suspension upgrades and I am not averse to minor arch modifications. What I must bear in mind is that I have an Akebono set up and I want to avoid spacers. Any help woud be greatly apprecited. My build thread can be found here should it help; http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/83318-ceejays-jdm-and-bay-let-the-fun-begin/page__st__140
  3. Any photographs of it installed within the 350 centre console?
  4. So what happens when you insure a loan car when yours is in being serviced? Some main dealers insist you get your own insurance for this, so in that situation you don't have an insurable interest in the vehicle as you don't own it. Perfect example Dan, I always face this predicament; My old man runs his own garage, therefore carries out all of the work on our cars (bonus). My partner and I are welcome to a 'loan car' whenever ours are in for work. Problem is that she isn't named on his business policy and all of his cars are insured as vehicles under the ownership of the garage. Her own policy states that it does not cover the use of any other cars. Long and short is that she has to use public transport
  5. I have been considering the above for a while now but have had far more important things to focus on. Just had a look and I swear that the last time I checked Driftworks were pricing them circa £150?? They're now at £180. Am I going mad or have Personal increased their prices? Thanks
  6. PM me your price; I may be interested

  10. Possibly; Sunday morning? I can recall driving past a super low convertable Beemer en route to Cheddar. Looked mean envious of the lows, those days are gone for me.

  12. Long overdue update; The Monosports were installed at FCM Motorsport in Bristol; who I must add were brilliant (apart from a minor hiccup concerning a handbrake lever). Dealt with a chap called John who bamboozled me with his technical knowledge concerning suspension set up. So I left the car in his capable hands whilst I joined the queues at Glastonbury for a muddy weekend. As suspected the current coilover kit was terrible (most definitely a cheap ebay set up). Also turns out that the rear of the car was sitting lower than the front! John began by setting up the rear; we agreed that it was going to go higher (circa 20mm) with a raked angle toward the front. I must admit that I wasn’t sold by the stance at first, which was foreseeable considering that I had been running the Zed pretty low for the best part of three years. My aesthetic concerns were quickly side-lined upon driving it for the first time. So much smoother and effectively care free which means that I can now drive the car how it was designed to be driven, rather than pottering around trying to find a perfectly smooth surface before unleashing it. Next on the list was a new handbrake! With help from both Keyser and Si (Hide’n’Seat) I managed find a suitable replacement to match my alcantara with red stitch gear stick gaitor. Just need to fit this little beauty (which will probably be a ballache) . I had been eager to take the zed out for a proper test drive since its return from FCM; well last weekend marked its first outing to Cheddar Gorge (appalling considering its on my doorstep). A friend of mine joined me for a spirited drive out in his very tasty Z4M Coupe, which was surprisingly quick. The Monosports were truly amazing; super smooth and predictable, offering much more confidence along the ‘A’ and ‘B’ roads. I now look back at the last 18months of ‘umming and ahhing’ and wish that I had taken the plunge sooner. Yes, installed they were expensive; although I actually enjoy driving the Zed now. Well worth it. Here are a few snaps, surprising how many heads the old Fairlady turned; New wheels and tyres next…..the converted hubs need to go in order to make way for more rubber! Thanks for looking. Off to catch up on James Juniors 370 build Current tech spec to follow.....
  13. Thanks for your help guys, off to glasto tomorrow so in no rush.
  14. I don't know Presumed that it was the entire handbrake - lever etc The mechanic has had a look from the underside and mentioned that it has been repaired in the past (welded). Its apparently extremely tough to engage and release.
  15. Hi Guys, Dropped the Zed off for a bit of work today and have been told that the handbrake has failed; needs a whole new mechanism (even though it passed the MOT last week!) Does anybody have one going? I don't fancy buying new from main dealer. Thanks
  16. Thanks Brillo; good thinking
  17. Cheers Dan, DD it is then Do you know if the DVLA calculate specific 'usage dates' or is it still generic months? For example if I tax on the June 20th will the charge commence from that date or the beginning of June? Sorry I should probably call the DVLA myself!
  18. Hi Guys, I will be taxing the car in a couple of weeks; first time since the new 'regime'. I will then be sorning it again come October (I am late re-taxing and typically opt for six months - April to Sep). Is there now an option to specify a duration or will I have to claim 3 months back (if choosing six months) or pay the direct debit surcharge if opting for monthly? Thanks.

    Battery Stay

Cheers GM and good idea regarding the trip to B&Q. I am hoping that I will be ok, probably the least of my worries
