  1. Was wondering if anyone had lowered their car and experienced any problems?

I fitted Whiteline lowering springs to the standard shocks which gave a 25mm drop all round.  Took it to get a wheel alignment and the before and after figures are the picture below.

I'm no suspension expert but a few things stand out to me:

    A.  Front wheel camber is now -1.32' and -0.56'.     I know camber is not adjustable on the front without aftermarket parts but if you drop both sides by the same amount you'd expect the same amount of camber change each side not different amounts?

    B. Rear wheel camber was -2.34' and -2.17' after lowering and the shop adjusted it to -2.25' and 2.24'.  Nissan Service Manual advises no more than 2.05'.  I believe rear camber is adjustable somewhat via eccentric bolts but why these final values were chosen alludes me?

Anyway, onto the real problem.  After just a few hundred miles I've worn out the inside edge of both my rear tyres.   Treads were about 2.3mm all round before lowering but now  the outside is 2.2mm, middle 1.6mm but inside just 0.7mm.

Can anyone help me out with my questions below please?

    1. I assume the gain in rear camber have caused the wear problems.   Has anyone else experienced this after lowering?  If so how did you fix it?

    2.  I though lowering the car would make it roll less (lower center of gravity) but it actually rolls more now.   Doing a bit of research i think this could be because the lowering springs have caused the car's roll center to increase thus causing a larger roll moment.  Anyone else experience this?  If so how did you fix it.  I see Hardrace sell Roll Centre Kits, do these work?

    3. I'm assuming to sort the suspension geometry out I'm going to need adjustable camber arms at the front and adjustable rear camber and toe arms?

    Big thanks everyone. Neil.

  2. A bit off topic but I got the chance to interview Mike Brewer this weekend at the Lancaster Insurance Classic Car Show.   We talked about the reality of making Wheeler Dealers, the cars that he thought he'd love but hated after having them on the show, how he met Ant Anstead and his two new TV shows.  He comes across very much as a "salesman" always highlighting his achievements but in person he was a really nice guy and was very generous with his time.   Anyway, would love to know your thoughts.

  3. My next mod was fitting sports lowering springs from Whiteline.   Drop the car by about 25mm and am pleased to report does improve the handling quite a bit.  A lot of bodyroll in the corners has been reduced and it feel like the car has more grip.    As usual a guide on to how to fit the springs and my thoughts on how they perform is below.

Think it's fair to say non of us know for sure, only our residential youtuber @vroom811 would know what's what

The revenue is much less than you'd think from  the ads.  It's done via an auction system (like Adsense) - advertisers bid for their adverts to be shown based on a number of criteria, mainly keywords and who the youtuber is.  Pewdiepie for instance  can command a much higher rate for his ads because his audience is massive.   If you're small you get very little.

Rickie has done remarkably well and gained a large audience in a small amount of time.    Socialblade claims his income is between $5k and £85k a year.  (https://socialblade.com/youtube/channel/UC0S5w-TQJywcsni8ZMzgqkg)   It's probably around the £30k to £40k.   I think he's doing Youtube full time so it must be enough to live on.

I'm not saying the BMW are not repossessing his M4 but he is an influencer so that makes things different - they may decide to come to an arrangement with him.   Also content like this is gold for a Youtuber -  this video alone has done a massive 640K views already, with his follow up one doing nearly 300k view - nearly 1 million views which would get him roughly £2000 in ad revenue.

great video underside looks in quite good nic. nice testing also :).

can i ask what phone holder you use to keep your phone in the lid space? I'm sick of mine been thrown around the cabin!

    what's planned next mod wise?

Thanks mate.     The phone holder is by RAM Mounts.  I've a video on how I installed it on my channel if that helps.    Next up its the lowering springs then I'm testing to see if ceramic coating the car is any good.  A few mods on my list but not sue which will be next such as brake ducts, plenum spacer, rust repair and poly bushes.

Nice modification with ease of adjustability too.

I'd say the whiteline lowering springs probably have the perfect drop for the 350z. Tein isn't enough and eibach seems too much. Look forward to the next update.

Front springs are in and the drop looks good.  Got the rears to do tomorrow.

  7. Got the Whiteline suspension kit ordered.  It includes stiffer front and rear anti-roll bars, new drop links, poly bushings and lowering springs.   @davey_83 is on the ball and has already posted my video of me installing the anti-roll bars (spolier - watch out for sheared bolts...) and the testing how much of an improvement it is on track.  I'll do the same for the springs when time allows.
